Supergirl

>Supergirl
>Kara Danvers

>Captain Marvel
>Carol Danvers

What the fuck is up with comics and this name? I've literally never heard of anyone named Danvers outside of comics.

a) That's Power Girl
b) It's pretty obvious they named Carol after Supergirl. Marvel was pretty cheeky back in the day. They printed a What If? panel of Wonder Man turned into a woman and Power man turned into a girl and essentially dared DC to do something.

>>>>>>Supergirl
It must be embarrasing to be on Yea Forums and confuse powergirl with supergirl...
Either that or you're just here to get a bunch of (you)'s in which case, congratulations, you got me.

>Kara Danvers
>Power Girl
Is Yea Forums just fucking retarded? The pic may not be Supergirl, but he's fucking talking about Supergirl's name you mong

Peej is Karen Starr

>Kara
>Karen
>Carol

Okay, this is just getting confusing.

How come DC hasn't ever made a "Captain DC"?

How come Marvel hasn't?

What?

All in good fun.

Wait, Luke Cage's superhero name is "Power Man"? Isn't that a little on the nose?

Luke Cage is the OG blaxploitation hero. (Black Panther predates him, but still.)

Interestingly it suggests Belgian ancestry, like with Larson herself.

It was deliberate. Originally he was trying to hide his identity as a fugitive from the law by hiding in plain sight, so to speak. IIRC he also called the name 'corny'.

>Female Luke Cage
>Every other aspect remains the same

Unnnnggghhhh

>Every other aspect remains the same
What are the other aspects?

...Although?

Apparently all famous people with the last name 'Desaulniers' are Canadian, not French or Wallonian. A 'saulnier' is apparently someone who wins salt from sea water. Curious.

Maybe that's why she likes to drink men's tears: ancestral memory.

>Tough girl from the mean streets of New York
>Joins street gang
>Is arrested for something she didn't do becasue she was framed by a jealous rival
>Sent to prison
>Signs up for scientific experimentation in return for the possibility of early parole
>Gains superhuman strength and escapes
>Hides her identity as a fugitive while using her power to help people as a 'heroine for hire'.

The only question remaining is: does everybody else get their gender flipped, or is she a lesbian?
A 6'2", super-strong African-American lesbian?

>marvel always had a child like mentality behind their company wars gags
>dc always played their gags subtle and light
>marvel fans behavior vs dc fans behavior
What did they mean by this?

>dc always played their gags subtle and light
Name one.

>Kara Danvers
>posts Karen Starr
you're cute user, but you should focus on Cpt Marvel. I think she's more your thing

That's how subtle and light they were.

So subtle.

Wow. DC really are paragons of maturity. You truly have to respect them for never once taking the low road.

In fairness, Earth-8 and Earth-9 are literally meant to be Ultimate Marvel and Marvel, in context.

Linda Danvers?

Captain Det'Ectif CoM'Mix

This seems more mocking than this

>R63 Luke Cage will never have hot lesbian sex with Jessica Jones
FUCK
