The trap with Zdarsky is that, despite being 90% of his output and what he's known for, his comedy books are trash. His more serious or dramatic books on the other hand, like his work on Spider-man or Marvel Two-in-One, are fantastic and feel like they were written by a completely different person.

I don't know what dumbass told him that he's funny, but that person did a major disservice to the comics industry because his non-comedy books are so much better than his comedy books that it's hard to believe the same person wrote both.

That describes most of these announcements. A lot of fucking amazing talent here, most of whom peaked at the turn of the century.

What if it's a big anthology book? People who don't buy comics are constantly moaning about the lack of a shonen jump for comics, so I could see doing a big anthology book to try and rope that crowd in and then filling the first issue (and probably none after that) with the biggest names they could get to bring in readers.

Sales then tank after issue 1 and the project is cancelled shortly thereafter, but I could definitely see something like that hitting the Shogun's claim of 1 million issues ordered. Hell, that's damn near the only thing I could imagine making those numbers out of Marvel.

Almost assuredly. Meaning these are probably all just one-shots as part of some big anthology comic. But then that begs the questions of how many pages is each story going to be? At a certain point, 8 different stories in one issue makes the issue too expensive to expect it to sell "one million issues" unless Marvel does the very un-Marvel thing of selling a high-page count comic at a low price a la Rebirth #1.
