Does anyone else hate when people pretend to have been fans of old shows in order to gain street cred or something? This one friend of mine born in 1987 says that as a 5-6 year old he was a fan of DuckTales, Darkwing Duck, and Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, and I'm just like fuck off Zoomer. Those are moreso cartoons that those born in the early 80s watched. There is nothing wrong with being honest and saying that the kindergarten you watched shows like SatAM or Rocko's Modern Life.

you lost me at zoomer

How the fuck is someone born in 1987 considered a zoomer?

Because I was born in 1981.

Never heard of reruns, huh?

I thought zoomers were those born in the late 90s and 2000s. Someone who is six years younger than you and born in the same decade (80s) are still the same generation.

>born in '96
>never heard of SatAM or Rocko until I was in middle school and got onto deviant art
>grew up on VHS tapes of Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck, Good Troop, Rescue Rangers, and Tailspin
Fuck off jackass

The meme basically has no meaning

Attached: 1526762243182.png (1410x1733, 789K)

Sure, but by 1992/1993, most of those series had been over with for 2-3 years and probably weren't even featured in reruns.

All those shows played on Disney afternoon in the early 90s too, you fuck.

Cool blog, you fucking faggot.
sys.4channel.org/co/imgboard.php?mode=report&no=107440486

I was born in 92 and grew up with reruns of those shows in the mid-late 90s.

Nah, it makes me proud to see younger kids enjoying good shows instead of the garbage they're spoonfed today.

I was born in '87 and watched all of those shows when I was a kid. Reruns and VHS tapes doofus

I was born in 1993 and saw literally all of those shows on TV as a kid, they didn't stop rerunning them until sometime around 2000.

>instead
user, it's not a one or the other deal. I grew up with both spongebob and the real ghostbusters and loved both

stop falling for such shitty bait, you people are embarassing

Never change Yea Forums

I hate that this was such a certifiably forced meme by one retard and people actually use it, and have become genuinely confused about the definition of "Boomer". Like holy shit I guess I could post a wojack edit with something like "yogurt sprinkles" and if I just spammed it on every board it'd actually catch on.

Rescue Rangers was my shit though, too bad I hated Chip with a passion.

>Artist makes fanart of old thing I like
>How nice! This artist made fanart of old thing I like so many years after it came out, he must actually like old thing! It's nice to see there are people with integri-
>Old Thing Reboot Trailer 2019

What kind of autism is that? I was born in 1985 and watched those thoroughly.
You have an unwarrantedly high opinion of yourself if you think people are trying to impress you by telling you they watched fucking Darkwing Duck.

You think it takes talent to sit and watch something? I was such a fan that I beat the NES game when I was 3 years old. Beat that.

Attached: Chip_n_Dale_Rescue_Rangers_Coverart-5.jpg (1090x680, 183K)

I hate when people act like you can't enjoy stuff made before you were born, and admonish people who educate themselves.

They had reruns of these cartoons on Toon Disney for the entire 2000s.

That too. I even remember watching those shows on toon disney sometimes if there was nothing else on.

>They kidnap the girl
Why is that what always happen in these cartoon games

>Enjoy something from the past
>UGH FUCKING BOOMER
>Don't know about things from the past
>UGH FUCKING ZOOMER
Wish people would just let other people enjoy things, I don't know why people are bothered by others liking things they don't like. The boomer/zoomer thing just feels like an excuse to be a cunt.

She manages to construct a workstation and gives advice/extra lives throughout the game though. It's an ensamble cast.

These shows got re run into the next century OP.
Your childhood memories were put onto a conveyor belt for everyone born up to 1995 to see; it isn't special.

>probably weren't even featured in reruns.
Why would you think that?

/thread

Rescue Rangers was in syndication/on the Disney Channel until like 1999

I was born in 89 and easily ran into all of those shows watching TV as a kid. You sound pathetically retarded for getting wound up over who gets to be a fan of your trailer-trash cartoons.

>1987
>"zoomer"
Lolwut. I was born in 1989 and I watched all of those.

Literally everything OP listed was. I think they might not have even gotten rid of them until 2002.

That's probably the easiest NES game there is but it sure was fun.

That's Yea Forums for you. Everyone here is a massive dickhead but they feel this bizarre need to justify themselves

user, shows used to get reruns
I watched those shows and the adventures of teddy ruxpin and maya the bee and captain power and the soldier of the future and the old Transformers cartoons
They ran well into the 90s

Gate keep much?

Who gives a fuck.

>"I like these cartoons"
>"LOL, no, u fake"
What's your problem?

I was born in 1993 and watched all these shows

you're a litteral retard
I will not reply to you again

Born in 91 and I use to watch reruns of all those shows as a kid, get fucked

Why did you hate Chip?

How's wife and kids?

They re-ran until at least the early 2000s in Texas.

It annoys me seeing Zoomers born in like 98 are like "we're the linkin park, eminem, gamecube newgrounds Ed edd n eddy generation" and I'm like "no you were shitting your diapers when those things were big". Their true era would've been more icarly, justin bieber, johnny test, total drama island, etc., aka the "downfall into shit era", when they were actually conscious.

Dumb fucking zoomefag
Im 34 and i was born in August 1984 and i watched Ducktales and Chip and Dale only during 1992-1994 years
PS:
nu-tales suck by the way

I know I'll get shit on for admitting this, but born 1998 here and I have no problem admitting iCarly/Justin Bieber/Total Drama was my generation. I did watch Ed, Edd n Eddy though.

Eh, not like Eminem and NuMetal are something to be nostalgic about.
I have no idea about Gamecube.

Gen 6 was honestly a really great period for video games, I think it's worth being nostalgic over.

Complete lie. These shows were all ran in the mid to late 90s on various stations.

Late 90s was the beginning of the end anyway.

my brother taped near a full season of ducktales for me (from the fountain of youth ep to castle mcduck though it cut off halfway through as it ran out of tape), my uncle had the tv movie first episodes on vhs to watch when i visited, and the actual movie was one of the first vhs's we owned in the house. i remember watching the bubba era on tv, through gizmoduck, all up to the golden goose finale. it played on the afternoons after school here, 4pm. I was in grade 1, two years beyond kindergarten. born 1987.
darkwing duck played on saturday mornings, i would wake up early to catch it. i read disney adventures and cherished the few longer darkwing comic stories.
rescue rangers i didnt like, something about the audio in that show grated me.

Born 87.
Definitely was a fan of ducktales, talpespine gummy bears and FUCKING RESCUE RANGERS!

No clue where your logic comes from

Nigro I was born in 88 and I sniffed Ducktales, Chip and Dale and the likes on a nearly daily basis. Granted it was reruns, but still. I had figurines, audio comics, etc. And Rocko's modern life didn't came out until I was in third grade. Cartoons back then lasted decades. Most of my daily cartoon income from 4 to 12 was old reruns from the 20s-80s. You are thinking of the oversaturated market of today where each year has 100 new cartoons.

I respect the educated. Someone exploring 80's (or really whatever) cartoons despite not being born then is more impressive to me than somebody who just happened to be born around that time.

Stop disincentivizing people from becoming educated. There is nothing wrong with taking an interest in the history of the artform. It's way better than being a closeminded "only currently airing and what I grew up with is relevant" faggot.

I was born in 1999 and remember watching Chip and Dale rescue rangers and Ducktales on toon Disney as a child.

>1987
Have you considered delayed showing? I was born in 1991. By your logic, I should've grown on SpongeBob or something. Yet, thanks to the "miracle" of post Soviet era, western TV arrived late. I grew up watching Rescue Rangers, Duck Tales, even TMNT, the 80's one.

Perhaps, user, perhaps it is you who are the pretender.

Attached: tapatalk_1555034120669.jpg (960x910, 92K)

Yeah, then it moved to Toon Disney, afterwards; amd that's no even counting for the possibility of VHS releases.

OP is retarded. Even my six year old niece is watching old Ducktales and other 80's stuff when she runs into it, and some networks still show reruns.

>Huuuuuuuuuuuuur, you can't enjoy something unless you were already a kid when it came out, huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuur
You. That's what you sound like. Fuck off you massive retard. I was born in 86 and enjoyed the Disney Afternoon, G1 Transformers, and loads of other things. Get bent, you absolute newfag.

Theese cartoons we're showed only in 90s in Russia. Maybe your friend is a Russian comrad?

I kind of like his development A hero who feels obligated to take on the obsessive work of everything and to hold everything together while still being very insecure about it all. He ain't perfect and has alot to work on himself
Also kind of matches them in the original shorts. God were they cunts in those

OP here, you guys are missing the point (as expected). It's not impossible to watch shows like Chip and Dale, DuckTales, etc even if you were born in 1987. It's just that if you do so, you are in a small minority. I can watch Andy Griffith reruns, but that doesn't mean I'm part of the Andy Griffith generation.

And?

And it's annoying that he tries to extend his e-peen by larping as part of an older generation than the one he actually belongs. You guys have your own generation - the generation of Ahh! Real Monsters, The Lion King, and so on. Be content with that, and don't pretend that you're a part of ours. Column A stays in Column A and Column B stays in Column B.

I saw all of those in the 90's because licensing and dubbing took years back then.

It's hardly pretending to be part of a fucking generation to say you watched a show that was wrapping up or in rerun. Plenty of people are well within their right to claim to be fans of shit like Chip and Dale and original Ducktales even if they were little tots at the time that those things were airing. So. Fucking. What?

>DuckTales ends in 1990
>Chip and Dale ends in 1990
>Darkwing Duck ends in 1992
>become a fan of those shows around '92/'93
>claim to have been a part of the generation

So fucking what indeed... so fucking what indeed...
(Alright, I'll give him Darkwing since it ended December 1992.)

>This one friend of mine born in 1987 says that as a 5-6 year old he was a fan of DuckTales, Darkwing Duck, and Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, and I'm just like fuck off Zoomer
Nigger, I was born in 91, and I watched He-man, Transformers and Dino-Riders. Reruns, VHS-tapes we owned, VHS-tapes I rented, Tapes I borrowed from friends - a lot of that shit is how I watched it.
Maybe instead of being a judgemental cuntbag about what they like, you could engage in a conversation with them about the shows instead?

Gee. It's almost like people born in 86/87 would be 4,6, and 7 by that point.
Again. SO. FUCKING. WHAT?

Dude. I was born in '93 and I was a fan of all those shows. They still showed up on Toon Disney and other things. Maybe he actually did watch and like those things?

Attached: 1456387035294.png (244x200, 70K)

How the hell did you get all that from Chip the chipmunk

You must be a turbo-oldfag because most people here believe late 90s-early 00s was better than early-mid 90s.

Darkwing duck is 90s and is something that would "actually belong" to your friend if you're gatekeeping

I was born in 88 and grew up watching those cartoons too, you stupid fuck.

>It's not impossible to watch shows like Chip and Dale, DuckTales, etc even if you were born in 1987. It's just that if you do so, you are in a small minority.
Says fucking who?
And even if that is true, so?
You didn't say jack shit about being in a minority, you accuse people of lying to sound cool.

Autisto has spoken. If you defy him he won't be friends with you any more.

See
Fuck yourself.

He and OP (if they aren't one and the same) are just complete and total tards who probably have autism, since that's the only reason they would feel threatened over people liking shows from their time even if the people telling them so are from long after. God forbid anyone younger than them enjoyed the same stuff they did.

I love how everyone has collectively agreed OP is a retard.
I don't think literally a single person agrees with him.

You'd be surprised of the autism of some oldfags, at least Yea Forums oldfags. They're like Yea Forums's subonlyfags, spastic to a fault.

There is no correlation between OPs retardation and subfags. Pleb.

There is in their retarded audacity and leaps of logic, faggot.

>It annoys me seeing Zoomers born in like 98 are like "we're the linkin park, eminem, gamecube newgrounds Ed edd n eddy generation" and I'm like "no you were shitting your diapers when those things were big".
You have no idea how time works if you think 10 year olds weren't on newgrounds in 2008 while When I'm gone was still played basically daily on mtv if you didn't have a cd player or an xbox to put the cd in. You're retarded. But good luck pretending your special for consuming random media

Some people pay attention to what they're watching. Also, some cartoons can be more complex than others.

Newgrounds was dying by 2008 zoomer. It was more popular in the late 90s-early 00s. Also eminem fell off by 2008

And yet Newgrounds is still around and not dying off any time soon. Especially since it's become a pretty good place for flash porns.

Chip and Dale was far from complex. Hell, it barely had any continuity beyond a few things established from the pilot. So where are you getting this malarkey about Chip being insecure about his leadership role and the baggage it carried?

I was wondering why I had NEVER seen this meme before Spring 2018.

Ok so this is bait

Rescue Rangers fags are always trying to pass the show off as something deeper

how do you get street cred from being knowledgeable in RR, DW or DT.
Because people find it weird when I talk about my favorite episodes or sing the themes.

Since when? Is this one of the things the Russian fans are prone to claiming about the show aside from their adoration of Gadget?

Claiming that Chip & Dales Rescue Rangers is "complex" is just an attempt to justify watching it when they're really in it for the mouse waifu. Ranger fags are notorious for this.

I have never once in my life heard other Ranger fans talk about the series like that. Most just loved it for the team structure, the jokes, and yes, Gadget since for some she was "just furry enough, but not too furry" as some would try to claim. This whole complexity thing makes me wonder if the comics that came out not too long ago added some depth that they're trying to retroactively apply to the cartoon.

The online RR fandom has been doing this for decades. The comics had some continuity and story arcs but nothing compared to all of the dramatic head canons and fanon that the fandom had been imposing on the series for years. There are also fans that are really obsessive over Chip and only Chip ending up with Gadget for some reason. It's crazy

Sounds like an isolated part of the group that managed to congregate in a few forums. In all my years since watching the show, people I would talk to would just mention some favorite episodes or parts of the animation that they loved.

Yeah normal people tend to enjoy things at face value. I've just been on the internet for too long

You're just a grumpy old man. There was a release lag in my country and I grew up with both G1 and Beast Wars.

A lot of zoomers are triggered by this post

Pretty sure plenty of normal fans enjoyed the show deeply, they just recognized it as nothing too special. Which is hardly a bad thing. G1 Tranformers fans are usually able to admit that the original cartoon wasn't anything particularly deep storywise beyond helping create some foundations for later plot points and lore bits.

Yeah I wasn't trying to knock on "normal" fans at all, I think it's great when people enjoy things for what they are. I'm just fascinated by online fandom in general.

I wonder how the cover was scanned so well

So, based on this pic and your main childhood era, are you Gen X, Millennial, or Zoomer?

Attached: 1554425635207.png (1400x1039, 3.15M)

Millennial. Early/core.

Attached: Commies_rangers.jpg (687x599, 138K)

Honestly who the fuck cares? What kind of shitty life do you have where you can't just believe your friend? What kind of fucking walnut gatekeeps 90s cartoons out of all things.

This chart is confusing, even if it's supposed to be just about ameriburgers, DBZ and some other anime were part of earlier childhoods because of the videogames.

Who you replied to and I mean user that's not too deep into him to see it's his basic character. You wouldn't look into that if you were like 8

I'm sorry user but charts like these just don't work.

Factors like where you're from, how much money you had growing up, and how in the loop people around you were, can change what you experienced growing up.

For instance, my family was poor so most of the toys and video games I had when I was little were hand-me-downs and were extremely out of date for the time, but I still grew up with them.

Yeah, god forbid kids who grew up with nothing but trash to watch on television be allowed to enjoy something halfway decent for once.

Based on this pic, my main childhood era was stop posting this fucking shitty image and asking the same fucking question you autist

I was born 2000 and i grew up with those cartoons

Attached: 24342365.png (744x346, 12K)

>an actual Cartoon Network show in five years

>a small minority
Do you remember jetix user? The channel it aired on also aired those shows.

Does anyone else hate when people think the shows they watched as a kid are worth gate-keeping for perceived street cred? This one dipshit on Yea Forums thinks if you're born in 1987 you can't have been a fan of DuckTales, Darkwing Duck, and Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, and I'm just like fuck off Boomer. Those are cartoons that ran for literal decades of reruns. There is something wrong with you if you think people are trying to impress you by telling you they watched the same shit everyone else did.

>1987
>Zoomer

POSERS don't know what it's like to be BORN when I was! You weren't THERE man, you CAN'T know!

Attached: IMG_2237.png (1830x1984, 1.39M)

I was born in 1987 and watched all three of those shows. Disney kept replaying them.

I GRIEVE IN STERIO

Wasn't there a retro toons channel JUST for older cartoons? Doesn't that mean that younger kids could have seen all sorts of good, older cartoons? Not even taking youtube into account.

>1987
>zoomer
>being this old and using zoomer as a term
Man I feel old as shit and I wasn't even a zygote in the eighties.

Boomerang and Toon Disney.

Alright let's clear some shit up shall we?
Some of the years vary but the common consensus for generational dates are 20 year periods that are catergorized as such.

(Baby) Boomers
>Born between 1946-1964
Generation X
>Born between 1965-1986
Millennials
>Born between 1987-2005
Generation Z (Zoomers)
>Born between 2006-present

This has been pointed out dozens of times and people won't care because they'd rather spam a forced meme to fit in
