Thoughts on their portrayals in the MCU? I think Evans did a great job overall and really got the charisma and patriotic optimism down. I think Hemsworth did a solid job but was given somewhat boring movies to start with. For what he was supposed to be in the first two he was good. I think Thor was best in the Avengers movies and IW was where his character peaked. They got the right balance of Shakespearean heroism and self referential silliness.

I kind of hoped most of Endgame would take place in space because Steve going to space was something I wanted to see in the MCU. That scene where Rocket goes into hyperdrive after asking the characters if it was their first time in space and we see Steve bracing himself and gripping his armrest. Then we get that 2001 space odyssey like scene where you see the stars going fast reflected on his eye. You know he was metaphorically shitting his pants.
Also in Brubaker's run, Steve had a secret desire to be an astronaut but being Cap kept him from doing that. Then in House of M where, the characters get what they always wanted, he eventually retires as Cap and becomes the first Earth man to set foot on the moon.

Pepper's not been good for Tony since Iron Man 3 and her presence in Homecoming and Endgame were forced as hell. I wish she left him if she understood how much being Iron Man was part of Tony. Instead we got the white woman power fantasy, "woman marries man and changes him for the better with the power of true love".
Endgame proves that MCU Stony was probably one of the worst interpretations of the SteveTony relationship we've seen and up to the movie I'd defended it.

I enjoyed the symbology behind the scene (Tony giving Steve his heart via Arc Reactor and telling him to use it to protect himself) but the context for it was frustrating. Half the world is dead but the Russo's still insist on having them fight is ridiculous. Then they give a shoddy make up moment to top it off.

Right? The antagonism and slipshod reunion didn't leave me with good feelings. But the heart symbology was beautiful. If you want sadness, imagine Steve trying to return the arc reactor to Tony at various points in the five years and it's always sent back without a single word. And when Tony's dead and Steve tries to return it to Pepper, she says, "I had his mind but you always had his heart." Now to make it when worse, imagine it all set to this poem - poetryfoundation.org

That got to me since he told Steve he hated guns and said that he would be dead before he picks up a gun again. Later when Bullseye shoots Steve first thing Tony does is pick up the gun. And yeah he was a mess after Steve dies and the comic got pretty dark there for everyone.
The whole thing with Native American Mar-Vell confused me though, I still don't get that part
But yeah it was kind of funny how Stony fans were very into 1872 in the first issue and then suddenly in issue 2 they kill Steve, but at least Duggan made it clear what type of story he was going to tell and the ones who were into the story and the heartbreak stuck around. Stuckies got it worst with Humphries' Planet Hulk since they waited for Gladiator Steve to rescue Bucky only to be greeted with Bucky dying offscreen.

It's funny, most Stucky MCU fans are now hopping into Planet Hulk.
The worst part about Danny Boy is Tony never got to "I love you so". But it also makes sense because it's a rather mournful song. Tony sang it knowing he'd never have Steve in life but he couldn't finish it after he died.
