When did the dust settle?

It's biggest crime is that it's mostly padded out and dull, so it loses most of its so-bad-it's-good potential.

DKR III got announced and people wrote articles about how mad they were Miller was working with DC, then all moved on because something new was trending

No matter whatever anyone says, It's good for Miller's art. It's also better than All Star Batman.

Gave it a read because I heard all the controversy surrounding it
Less "so bad it's good" more "so bad it's boring"

It's based. Redpilled, even.

Some moments and pages are legitimately beautiful and genius much of it is insanity in response to trauma.

Miller is racist.

It's not really bad, just kind of boring and tasteless. I get why Millar wrote it, everyone was up in arms after 9/11. That said, I think it's impossible for a writer to handle real life Islamic terrorism as a subject matter. It's beyond the capacity of cape comics, and definitely beyond the capacity of cape writers.

It's stupid as fuck but nice to look at.

>people bein cunts is beyond capeshit
Nah actually they're the only people with simple enough storytelling to explain it.

Why are wolfman and the mummy fighting?

Problem, infidels?

Arrrrh. Go fuck yourselves.

Funnier if you think of it as the story Miller wanted to have take place between Year One and All Star Batman and Robin, which would explain why Batman snapped between the two stories.

Muslims aren't a race. They're a death cult.

Dark Universe. It's gonna be big.

Want to read this but I can't find a copy in my city.

Only by extension of Christianity being a death cult, they both await the return of Jesus to herald the end of the world.

based and redpilled

>but whattabout CHRISTIANS?????
please kill yourself

is ignores the role the US government played in intentionally escalating conflicts in the name of corporate imperialism.
I'm not saying 9/11 was justified but Miller is completely ignorant of the history behind it, including internal conflict of interests within and between the CIA, Pentagon, and White House, and between numerous factions all around the world with various intents for the middle east.
Holy Terror should have been about Batman exposing how truly fucked up the whole situation is and has been for over a hundred years.
but thats not what he wanted. he wanted Batman brutalizing the bad guys until he feels better.

Took a while, those towers created a lot of fucking dust.

superhero comics are not for you

Some bits, taken out of context, have an interesting feel.
The fact the main characters are such blatant rip-offs take away from what little potential the thing had.
Overall boring.

>They're a death cult.
More like doctrine of conquest written by a pedophile warlord who stole his shit from existing religions and local cults (who he annihilated).

It's a continuing tumor that values hatred and domination before love and is popular in worst parts of the world where people suffer the most already.

Not that user but a comic about non-Batman brutalizing the darkies for releasing his frustrations but deep down he knows the problem is far too complicated for resolving it with punches and he's supporting an amoral militar complex but still do it because he's clueless on the situaation and brutalizing darkies feel really good, could easily be capekino and great way to bring old WW2 propaganda to the modern world.

I think most of the hate Miller gets can be traced back to hyper-sensitive virtue-signallers overreacting to Holy Terror. Quite a shame, because those people will never enjoy 300 or Ronin to their fullest.

Any post that begins with "nah" should automatically get deleted and whoever posted it should get instantly banned, because I've never seen a single post that begins with that word that wasn't eyegougingly retarded

Nah, it's just you bro.

I actually like miller's later art a lot, but it doesn't match the writing of his comics one bit

A goddamn nail

>now that the dust has settled what does Yea Forums think of Holy Terror
It's shit, the problem is that Miller didn't knew if he wanted to do Satire or to use it to let his own feelings of insecurity out. It's half baked, the fact that it came years to late just make everything worse, since without context the flaws are more evident. Trauma and political awareness don't mix well, that's why 300 is so good, it's aware of the propaganda factor but without the real anger.

In my goddamn leg

"darkies" attacked his city and country.

This book doesn't even try to take a political stand. It's about not-batman's life being completely destroyed by a force he couldn't stop and should have been able to see coming. His world is undone down to the screws and thus he goes to war, much like Batman did because his parents are shot.

The stupid fucking poo ITT Reeing about it and how frank simply doesnt understand the situation is ignoring the fact that that isn't the intention at all. It's like asking a porn to be a romance.

>doesn't take a political stand
Pre-emptively, I know you'll REE about this without understanding (likely because you haven't actually read it) that it's a VERY personal story, it isn't political it's emotional fan service.

>"Islam is a death cult"
>"Because it's based off Christianity"
>"waaaaaaah you hurt my feelings!!!!!!"

frank miller at his most crazy and distasteful.

friendly reminder its okay to not like muslims because its ultimately a choice to be a muslim. its someones choice to be a misogynistic asshole piece of shit who does holy war and rapes and pillages and destroys civilization.
