Long answer: I always say that my real start in life was the day I discovered comic books, most specifically Calvin and Hobbes in 1st grade. I already knew I loved to write and draw in Kindergarden, but I never knew that the two could be intertwined in a way that had endless potential. My little mind couldn't fathom it, and it was a mind bomb that created an overnight obsession. I need comics, I want to read every comic I can get my hands on worth reading. I didn't care if some of the vocabulary or jokes were lost on me--I understood it in such a deeper level that made me fall in love with the medium more and more everyday.
I live for very little, I don't want much, and my drive in almost everything else is non-existent. As every day passes, the cynic starts to cloud the realist in me. I keep trudging along, I keep living, because I want nothing more to be a cartoonist. I want nothing more than a reason to keep on living.

He, in turn, used them to inspire a love of reading in me.
So he pulled his long boxes out for me... And started regularly buying me Fantastic Four and Spider-man comics, they both had Cartoons going so he figured it'd be easier for me to jump on from there.

So comics is more of a search to find that sweet sport of a good story and art that goes with it. A lot of time the art is bad or the story comes second to the artist.
