Books were originally written in Swedisn, author's mother tongue, and as such the English translation is very accurate. Comics were released in English. Animu was subbed, though finding a good torrent may take some time.

The golden rule is to watch an animu subbed. If the dub recaptures the spirit and is of quality, great! But with children's animu usually the dub is worse. USUALLY. Like in this case.

I always had trouble with Fillijonks jungle.

The original japanese sub for tanoshii moomin ikka is well worth watching I think, if you can be bothered.

Snufkin, Mama, Tooticky, and little My sound more fitting in jap than they do in english. plus its a fair bit easier to find the later episodes in jap, the english episodes run out around episode 26

That being said, if you can understand finnish or swedish you might wanna go for that instead.

Sorry user, I think there were some fansubs for later episodes floating around, but I don't really know how to find them, easy to find subs only go up to 26 just like the english dub, I'm afraid.

The googledrive seems to have the english dub up to 76, but subs stay down at 26.

Well you might be out of luck then, your best hope is maybe some japanese streaming sites with optional subtittles if any exist, or ask some jap to rip from disc. For those who watch the '90s series with Finnish voice acting, make sure it is the original and not the shitty new dub from MTV3. Their new dub is less poetic and bland because they did not want to pay royalties for the original.
