It's funny how on-the-nose "Dark" is for a villian's name, but it fits considering this isn't meant for native English-speakers.
I'm tempted to make a collage of all the horrified faces that appear in this series but I fear it would be too large.
I wonder how useful the pictorial explanations of the vocabulary words are. There's a logic to all of them but how good are they at making clear the meanings of unfamiliar words?
>Alan Wake
>How can we get to Paris? It's so far away?
I'm guessing this takes place in America?
I assumed as such because in the first book there's a black kid. Also the co-author is American
>complains of not being able to understand a foreign language
In this series, that's pretty funny.
Would keep you busy for a while, certainly
*banjos begin in the distance*

>suddenly king!
A little anticlimactic
And that concludes our riveting tale. I'm sure lots of stuff is elaborated upon/fleshed out in the 52 half hour episodes of CG animation that exist but I hope you learned something about the world, yourself, and English
Luckily there's one last extra panel
Bless for storytime, OP
>crystal turns people evil
>just fucking pick it up with your bare hand
Before this train slows down we need fanart of Olivia with other witches like Melusine.
That's a Francophone series so maybe a language joke.
Yer tellin' me that this little french girl who barely appears on two pages got her own cutout doll?
they really know their audience
>Groke
Are the other scientists named Snork, Hattifattener and Snufkin?
Only idea I have right now is a little cliche; Olivia is jealous of Melusine mature body while Melusine is jealous of Olivia's nice hat.
Using the simple English in the sans-serif font and the hand-lettered French as each's dialogue would make it a bit more clever.
Somewhere in this thread is the hero we need to buy and upload the video of the series for us.
buykorea.org
If anyone wants to buy something from Korea that does not ship worldwide, use this package forwarding service.
korgou.com
They will let you order your package to one of their addresses in Korea and then reship it to you, worldwide.
So I'm too lazy to go through the other thread but I want to know about that one cover why was that girl so terrified of horse cock?
I am pretty sure that link is for actually licensing the show, so unless someone on Yea Forums wants to become the official US distributor I don’t think it’ll help all that much
Just noticed the "fag = OP"
This is absolute kino
We don’t have the actual full book of that one (it’s in the “School Adventures” series, which would cost another 50 bucks to acquire) but there’s preview pages on Amazon JP. Seems like the plot is that the first 6 books in that set are set at summer camp and horse riding is part of the curriculum and Bella is specifically afraid of falling off and being stepped on
but if i were a little girl i’d probably be afraid of horse cock too
Oh so it's just a Star Vs ripoff?
Thanks.
Books came out in 2012, and also I don’t think “loli witch” is exactly an original idea
cute
Olivia has to stay in Magic Land away from Jack's D and there's not really a goodbye scene?
>Magic girl
>Goes to Earth
>Teams up with native earth male
>Goes to Earth school with him
>Has adventures
Definitely ripping off Star Vs specifically here.
Star Vs came out 3 years later, my guy
>book came out in 2 0 1 2
Oh? Okay, lol. Yeah it was a little vague/hard t understand. Anyone have a link where we can actually buy it? Or stream it?
>What is production and pre-production
It really feels like there should have been one more page, at least. Maybe she shows up in School Adventures at some point, or they just left that for the show (the relationship stuff seems to be more prominent there)
>implying Koreans would rush to make rip off comics for a show that in all likelihood hadn’t been greenlit yet
Face it, it’s just not an original premise
A magical outsider teaming up with a normie for adventures is a pretty basic concept, user.
Of course it's not an original premise, it's ripping off Star Vs. like I said
Isn't that the plot to bleach and we both know nefcy is an anime fan
In early drafts of the series Star was a delusional 12-year-old who had no magical powers.
No the plot to Bleach is about dealing with how fucked up the afterlife can be when the people in charge of running it play it like some twisted feudal hierarchy instead of doing their actual job, with the native Earth male being thrust into all of it who ends up correcting the system after being accepted as the hero.
This is nothing like Bleach at all.
>early drafts
We're comparing final products here, don't know why you're bringing that stuff up.
Because there’s literally no way they could have copied the actual Star Vs series when it in all likelihood it didn’t have a single frame of finished animation yet
No,
> a magic girl meets some normal boy >they fight some monsters
>then bad stuff start happening in her home
> the boy has to travel to her home and help her deal with the problem
that's pretty much the first two or three seasons of star versus
Man, these are ripe for a joke “translation” huh
Fuckin saved
Pretty much
>that Korean art where Olivia gets raped by the bad boys
Nuke both halves for this heresy
Pic or it didn’t happen
They really didn't think that cover through. It really comes off as racist.
Koreans are very less sensitive about racial problems. I guess that's why they were okay with that cover.
Why are they so racist bros
Fixed.
Can anybody even stop him? How can they deal with somebody so powerful, so bad?
>that ugly African Chief
Wew, oh Korea.
can you put a basement under an African mud hut?
How can you rip a video from a streaming site?
You just have to use a video recording program and play the whole episode?
Video DownloadHelper or JDownloader can generally get it so long as it’s not DRM’d
Obligatory post.
>reposting my screenshot in every thread
I feel honored.
mega.nz
Ripped out episode 1. Since it is a Korean show, there's no translations of course. It's kinda shame that the tv show isn't in English.
BASED!
There’s an English trailer for the show, was probably just meant to sell it to potential foreign networks but it’s possible it was dubbed. Would have to figure out if any country outside of Korea ever aired it though
It was literally the most successful show at MIPJUNIOR two years ago. It's basically the E3 of animation. But it doesn't seem like anything actually came from it.
animationmagazine.net
>1st ep is prologue showing how Olivia got sent to Earth
An actual narrative, huh. Why does it seem like most western shows save this for a flashback episode later on?
Cause if the first episode isn't a revised pilot, it's probably an episode that tries to go straight into what the show's going to be about, to get interest.
Once you're sure people actually give a damn about your characters and the show, then you can start going into the backstory.
Is this using the POOQ service? How did you manage to access it?
I'd be most interested in the final episode (mostly to see how the closure compares to the anti-climax of the comics) and maybe this one
You're a saint amongst men user. Thanks for storytiming
I'm a Korean living in Korea. Unfortunately, POOQ service is unavailable at foreign countries.
Bump
Ah, that probably makes it pretty easy. Cool that you're in the thread
3D show looks fun with all the panty shots but isn't the same without the funny expressions the comic has

Since it's 4 am in Korea, I'll upload more if you guys are interested. If this thread is still alive, that is.
So this is meant for Korean children to learn English, right? It's weird seeing no Korean in the books at all, really trying to get those kids to think about nothing but English.
Where's the jack smut at? Or a least wholesome hand holding
For people like you who managed to get the comics and started ripping the episodes I'm willing to draw lots of fanart of this series as compensation event thought it's not my forte.
Thank you very much for the effort
There's Korean in the instructional books and guides, so guess you're supposed to use those if your kid gets lost.
There's teacher's editions of the books, but heck if I'm gonna shell out for those after I did unlike the main line.
Do it man!
They sell the books in Japan and Poland too, think the lack of any other language is partly to be able to market them to all countries and also because these are meant for in-class use and there's a teacher there to help them through it. Kind of odd considering the source material that the show isn't like a Dora-esque thing that teaches English and seems to be completely non-educational.
Much appreciated user, episode 2 was the other one I was interested in since the episode titles on the Korean wiki article (when put through translate) makes it seem like the vast majority of the show takes place in Magic Land and that this is the only one that adapts stuff from the first set of books. Rather disappointing, if they had done a straight adaptation we could of had the prologue and then 6ish episodes of build-up before the fantastical stuff really kicks in which would have been a nice pace IMO but it seems like they were worried kids would get bored with school stuff, even though I thought those were the cutest books.
Interesting how episode 2 follows the same story beats as the comic.
The simple designs work really well in CGI. Such a cute face.
>I'll upload more if you guys are interested
definitely
I just wish they had rendered at 24 and not 30 fps, would feel way less like a video game cutscene
Anyway, the Bad Boys are such unrealistic characters, how am I supposed to believe someone could see this and want to bully?
Little boys don't care if you're cute they're gonna bully you if you're new.
Alright, looked at the episodes and it seems like they don't go to Magic Land until episode 5 (and there's lots of moments from the books in 2-4) so that's not too bad. Don't think I'll watch em straight through given the lack of understanding but considering low-budget foreign CGI it seems like a pretty solid adaptation
How completely superfluous
This dress is just super short, huh.
Yep
I think my english deteriorated a little bit but it was worth
Do not be sad.
Your English is good.
I like you, user.
I work part-time as an english teacher (basic 1-10), this stuff is pretty entertaining, it might even be useful for spanish speakers
I think they're intentionally made unbiased towards Korean or anything else so you can use them to teach ESL (or even just plain English) to speakers of any language, I definitely would have found this very fun when I was 6 or 7 especially because it's a real comic with adventures and stakes and not just super scrubbed-clean edutainment stuff. I'd say print some out and see how they like it
mega.nz
And here's the teaching aid, it's not the whole teacher's edition book that has activities and questions for every issue but it's got some supplementary worksheets and those character paper doll cut-outs/busywork
mega.nz
Where's you find the teaching aid at?
(trips checked)
Thank you, friend. Very cool! Please upload as much more as you can.
The e-Future Korean site. Nothing else of interest on there
Somebody should draw Akko complimenting Olivia for her skirt sensibilities.
I mean LWA goes out of its way not to have panty shots, but Akko's skirt is just as short as it can be.
I was gonna request this before I forgot about it deadass
I have to go, thanks.
>Kind of odd considering the source material that the show isn't like a Dora-esque thing that teaches English and seems to be completely non-educational.
Yeah, you’d think they’d at least throw in like 1 vocab word per episode or something but they just adapted a lot of plot stuff directly from the comics while dropping the entire motivation for their existence, pretty fascinating. I’d guess the characters proved popular with kids in Korea and the book publisher got offered a big sack o’ cash by a production company to make an adaptation and they just took it to fund their other educational media without seeking creative involvement in the series.
Of course now even Dora is being made into a live-action movie that seems to have been directly inspired by a CollegeHumor parody so nothing really makes sense anymore
how hard is it for this girl to cast a spell to make her socks equal length
Not that it isn’t adorable, because it is
Someone in the last thread mentioned an Olivia doll that's region-locked in Korea. Could someone please post the link for that?
Much appreciated, user! Now I just need to figure how to use that package forwarding service.
What do you plan on doing with her, user?
I was going to make a comment on how this specific version of Pippi also had uneven length stockings and how Olivia could try the spell on her, but then I realized my life has been a lie.
Surely her hands could have slipped from those bindings. She was barely strapped into that chair. Unless she wanted to be strapped to it.
Do Jack and Olivia ever kiss?
>Olivia is thirsty af for jack at the beginning
>Forgets about him later
Why are they all like this?
He blew his chance by not sticking by her side against the BAD BOYS early on.
we haven't gotten through all the episodes yet. they'll be preforming the royal mating procedure by its end
He asked her to be friends, he friend zoned himself
Possibly in the show, have to wait for Korea user to rip all 52 to see probably
but look at this face of ecstasy This is the end, can't you get more anticlimatic than this?
>He asked her to be friends
that was her My theory is that once she got her options open
she lost her interest
but that was jack reacting in shock that the boys were acting nice for once. he can still nab her
That smug face tells me otherwise
you're reading too much into it
let the MC have his witchpussi
He looks exactly like Calvin
I wish
you only feel that way if you let that mentality take over you
Precisely my thought, except for the limited vocabulary compared to Calvin's masterful use of language anyway.
handholding?!?!
Let us know how it goes. I want one too.
Even the fucking dog is more sad to see them go
She's got a thousand yard stare because she just died a bit inside, she's just missing the purple hue on the back.
kek
Nice!
>LWA goes out of its way not to have panty shots
They do it in such a weird way. Skirt physics are actually normal, but every single time Dharkon casts a shadow over the important spots.
Lets get Berserk's Schierke on it too
this will help me when posting on /his/
Feels like interest for this died extremely quickly. I guess fotms are like that.
I think the rapey covers caught people’s eye and made them comment and speculate but that many of them wouldn’t have ever been interested in the actual work itself anyway (also, it was during the weekend and lots of those anons are probably busy on a Monday). I wish we got even more content but we still got some cute stuff out of it and it’s nice the books were found so quickly rather than having to wait for scans to happen
Well we read the whole thing. We have the shows to watch but no caps or dubs.
>it’s nice the books were found so quickly rather than having to wait for scans to happen
That likely hurt it more than it helped since that removed any speculation or discussion about what the books might be like.
We are still missing the whole "school adventures" tho
We just wait for the inevitable rule 34, of course!
I can't wait for the book where the gang meets Andy Sixx and gets their throats clogged.
Yea Forums? On MY Yea Forums?
>Implying you don't want that to happen
So it turns out that the instructions on KorGou are a bit fucky and not in line with the actual interface on the store website, but I think I finally managed. I hope people like who are interested in using these sites have an easier time than I did, though.
Take pictures of her for the thread, of course. This is assuming that there's still interest by the time she gets here, however.
Not really sure that was worth the money, friend.
$23 isn't that bad for a plush doll with a limited release.
Believe me, I've spent money on more worthless things than this. I'm not even really a /toy/ guy, so it'll at least be a nice novelty to have.
>limited release
I didn't even know about that. Well, that makes me feel a little bit validated then.
Bump
Yup. Still, for anyone that's still interested, here's the link for all episodes.
mega.nz
At least it's a happier ending than the book.
