Why does people dislike this movie so much?

Aside from wooden ass Deadshot, it has better team dynamics and true to character than Guardian of the Galaxy, which is the same kind of zany loser team saving the world movie.

GoTG actively RUINS some characters like Star Lord and Drax the Destroyer man.

People dislike the edgelord wannabe-gangbanger aesthetic.

>Why does people dislike this movie so much?
Why am English so hard for DC fans?

It tried to be edgy GotG and failed miserably

Please forgive me.
I thought it's cool desu.

Rick Flag, Deadshot and even goddamn Captain Boomering look cool.

GoTG manage to make Star-lord look lame and Drax as a fat retard.

>Harley isn't funny
>Waller's plan is entirely fucking retarded, even the premise of selling to the government that a rock climber, a really good shooter, a dude with a flame thrower, some bogan that throws things, a hood rat with a bad skin condition, and some psycho with a baseball bat are a good addition to a team that has an unstable and practically uncontrollable super sorceress with a really iffy means of keeping her on a leash
>Joker
>no one on the team really does anything that a fire team or two can't accomplish, they're escorted by SEALS for nearly the entire movie who pull their weight in fights against generic eyeball monsters
>Harley isn't funny

I only watched it because a friend paid for my ticket.

>GoTG actively RUINS some characters like Star Lord and Drax the Destroyer man.
But it's still a good movie. Suicide Squad had decent dynamics between some of the team members, next-to-none for others (like Killer Croc and Katana), and very little time dedicated to fleshing them out as a team, which leads to the oft-mocked part of them declaring one-another 'family' after having barely interacted with one-another.

And this is from someone who doesn't think Suicide Squad is as bad as everyone makes it out to be, more a decent movie butchered in post-production with fucking amateur hour editing.

They tried to cram as much licensed music as possible too because GotG did. And DCU is always reactionary

>True to the character
Fuck off.

>no one on the team really does anything that a fire team or two can't accomplish, they're escorted by SEALS for nearly the entire movie who pull their weight in fights against generic eyeball monsters
This is so wrong though.
See vid.

Though that same thing can be made for GoTG, without the ravagers, they are fucked.

>dead shot is hesitant to put the mask on because people die when he wears it.
>kills way more people with the mask off

How is Killer Croc, Cap Boomerang, Weller and Rick Flag not on point?

He didn't kill people, he killed monsters.

>Deadshot’s “I only kill bad people” bullshit
>Boomerang not butting heads with Lawton and coming back at the end because of “muh family” bullshit
>Waller killing her own team needlessly.
Everyone besides Lawton and Harley barely has any characterization/focus

>Waller killing her own team needlessly.
And Rick being totally complicit in it. Ostrander-Rick would've told her to fuck right off after that.

>Deadshot’s “I only kill bad people” bullshit
OK stretching it.
>Boomerang not butting heads with Lawton and coming back at the end because of “muh family” bullshit
He kinda did though.
>Waller killing her own team needlessly.
Yeah, no, she didn't. Weller only wanted to kill Harley because she escapes.

This is still better than a huge gang of loser i.e. GoTG.

Not clicking on that, they had a SEAL team latched on their ass the entire way until they had that horrible CGI fight with the PS2 monster and the dancing witch.

Because they are mainly pakistan, indian etc

It didn't flesh out the suicide squad members and they barely live up to their name. It felt like a weak attempt at replicating GOTG, which had a huge departure to the comics just to make it fit.

The SEAL were getting their ass kicked in melee until literal superhuman combatants jump in.

Deadshot basically solo the whole wave afterwards.

Nothing the GOTG dudes did even come close to that.

>live up to their name
Come on, you are saying GoTG's Star-Lord lives up to comic Star-Lord?

Rocket did that in the prison in the first movie, are you retarded or just trolling?

That’s not a fucking stretch, it’s out of character and we’re talking about Waller shooting her IT team in front of Rick.

Drop your company war autism and read a book faggot

It's an okay action movie, with excellent cast, effects, and award winning make-up work.

So aside from the fantastic polish, it was misfit generic misfit protaganist who don't go through a heroic journey fighting against magical putty monsters.

All of the scenes were made for the sake of having the scene, and were mini-vingettes but so few of them would string together one coherent story leading from one to the next.

From the start with the character introductions to the final battle. It all felt like more of a montage than a story of events.

There's a point where Cpt. Boomerang is brought into the action because a putty monster sneaks up on him from above and knocks his beer out of his hand. It played worse than a D&D Dungeon Master trying to get a player invovled in a fight scene purely for the sake of the fight scene.

---
Mostly blame the writers and the editors.
SS was shit story.

>Yeah, no, she didn't
Did you watch the movie? She personally shot her entire support team for the crime of being loose ends and Rick did nothing and just fucking watched. Comic Rick would of never condoned that.

Nope, he didn't kill in anyway Deadshot did.

That's Groot doing the hard job.
>and we’re talking about Waller shooting her IT team in front of Rick.
Didn't remember that.
>There's a point where Cpt. Boomerang is brought into the action because a putty monster sneaks up on him from above and knocks his beer out of his hand.
Actually, he joins the fight because they hurt his little unicorn.

Ok, I didn't remember that.

Maybe that's a bit too grim.

>That's Groot doing the hard job.

By that reasoning, the SEALS did the hard job by preventing the entire squad from getting overwhelmed after the Putty Patrol got the drop on them, and that's exactly what they did.

I know that people downing on the cut rate Guardians of the Galaxy pisses you off, but come on, you're reaching.

That Boomerang point wasn’t mine, so I don’t know why you had it with my post. But regardless that unicorn shit was stupid and a leftover Harley joke they didn’t know how to fit into the script.

But onto my point; this movie is trash, gets characters wrong, and doesn’t even execute the Task Force X concept correctly

Groot were fighting the guards straight up. Rocket was shooting randomly and every shit didn't kill.

The SEAL didn't save the Suicide Squad, it was the Suicide Squad who saved the SEALs. Again, point to the last scene where Deadshot solo the whole thing.

I do agree that it's not close to the comic, but it's still a cooler movie than GoTG where serious, hardass characters are turned into a joke. What they did to Star-Lord and Drax were a disaster.

At least Cap. Boomering is a silly guy even in comic.

>Again, point to the last scene where Deadshot solo the whole thing.

He didn't solo the whole thing, idiot, the fight with the putties was going on with the SEALS and squad for a minute before he did that last part.

I mean for all the shit-talking I'm reading her about GoTG I'm not getting a whole lot of reasons why the movie is bad or worse than Suicide Squad beyond 'not muh'.

Dude, shut the fuck up about GotG already. I don’t give a fuck about it, so you can stop with the “B-But at least it’s better than GotG!!!” nonsense. If you can’t defend the film on its own merits then just say so. I wanted SS to be good, but everything is wrong

That's just the first wave.

He solo the last two waves and killed way more than the whole SEAL combined.

Only Girls like this movie

Well, let's see:
- the movie is supposed to be the 80s, yet everything is shiny and cool CGI
- seriously bad fight
- bad Nova corps
- bad Ronan (turned into a generic angry retard)
- bad Star-Lord
- bad Drax
- Gamora is annoying
- Groot and Rocket are okay though.
I just don't understand why GoTG is seen as good while SS isn't.

>Horrible editing
>Can’t juggle characters and most feel like cameos rather than actual characters
>Can’t even follow its own logic, poking holes in the teams cover story left and right
>Film doesn’t know the definition of “super villain” and forces a family dynamic that isn’t there

Whoops, misread your post. Sorry user

Are you talking about GotG or SS?

I seriously can't tell.

Both films have ass villains.

Beyond Ronan, this is all literally just 'not muh'.

I don't see how turning:
- Star-Lord: serious space mercenary who fought off galactic thread => loser on Earth who can't fight worth shit
- Drax the Terminator: serious demi-god like being that can put the scare into Thanos => bumbling straight man retard that can't fight worth shit
- Nova corps: serious space cops who saved world from termination => a bunch of mall cops who can't even fight against one ship

Is "not muh".

I was talking about SS. Again I misread the post

>Not muh Star-Lord
>Not muh Drax
>Not muh Nova

Not him but I got to ask; why didn’t you just make a GotG thread instead of constantly trying to start company war autism? Because you seem more interested in talking about that movie rather than defending SS, which is trash for its own reasons

But they are literally turning serious characters into fucking retards.
Either ways, it fits GoTG.

I still don't understand why Rocket is suddenly buddy buddy with Star-Lord and Gamora because they are in jail together.

The development feels literally out of nowhere.

Because I don't understand why GoTG is liked but SS is not when SS is the cooler movie.

>And DCU is always reactionary
This is true to an absurd degree. Marvel makes trends and DC ends up following them.

>But they are literally turning serious characters into fucking retards.
As someone who has never read Abnett and Lanning's GoTG, why should I care?

Meh, it shows how bad the medium is.

Truth to be told, I still prefer X-Men: First Class to most of the marvel flicks.

I care about because turning serious characters into a retard is not a good thing.

Especially when my first exposure to GoTG is fucking Annihilation.

Okay so you’re just baiting looking for company autism. Good to know. I’m out. Both are trash, and you should feel bad

>I care about because turning serious characters into a retard is not a good thing.
I'm fine with it since we still got a good movie out of it. What now?

But it's not a good movie?

It makes me laugh but that's not a good thing for a GoTG movie.
OK, user, have a nice day.

I really don't know. The most argumentated criticism I've seen is bad editing, and I'm not sure what should have been improved in that regard.

>Why does people dislike this movie so much?
Leto

The action was genuinely cooler than GOTG at the least.

Joker is just his usual bullshit.

He came back because he is a boomerang

>But it's not a good movie?
It is, and the only reasons you've given me thus far for it being bad is 'not muh' and a generic villain, with only the second really being valid.

I dislike this kind of argument, no, turning serious characters into jokes does not a good movie make.

At some points, at some it wasn't. Hopefully Gunn will combine the best parts of both for his film.

Gunn has never made a cool action scene outside of maybe Super, and Super was meant to be lame.

And Disney bullshit is too tame for good action.

>I dislike this kind of argument
Because you're a brainlet.

>turning serious characters into jokes does not a good movie make.
Does it make it a poor adaptation? Maybe.

Does it make it a bad film? No.

OK, the fact you expect something to be Star Wars and you get Space Balls mean it's a bad movie.

>the fact you expect something to be Star Wars and you get Space Balls mean it's a bad movie
No, it just means you're too wrapped up in your own personal bias to objectively critique it. Again, because you're a brainlet.

That makes no sense or whatsover.

I know SW is pretty much worse than Space Balls now and many tears have been cried over that, but just imagine, just imagine if they make a LOTR movie but make a parody movie where Aragorn is a bumbling idiot who gets cucked by Arwen, and Gandalf is a laughing old retard.

Just imagine that.

Is the parody movie funny?

No, it's not.

You just went full retard, man.

Well that's just your own (bad) opinion. I found it hilarious. I'm gonna go watch it again and recommend it to all my friends while you sit here whining about how it's bad because they didn't include Tom Bombadil and turned Gimli in to comedy relief.

OK, suit yourself user.

My time is limited.

If it really was, then you wouldn't be here.

It sounds funny. Do Tony Cox and Verne Troyer play Sam and Frodo?

Shitposting here is funnier than any Marvel movie.

>People dislike the edgelord wannabe-gangbanger aesthetic.
I liked the wannabe gangbanger aesthetics, it was literally the only thing about the movie that felt like it had a personality unique to itself. Everything elese was a sloppily edited paint by the numbers blockbuster with obligatory column of light ending.
