I agree op

Because it fits his character more.

Only reason why he become a photographer is to get cheap bucks from a crazy old man. Heck, he is canonically is a terrible photographer.

Eh, both have their pros and cons.
Photography
Pro: Working at a place that gets news fast and a reason to go to the scene.
Con: Shit pay working under a guy who does everything in his power to belittle you.

Teacher
Pro: He has genius level intellect and much better pay.
Con: Limits his time spent as Spider-Man

Teacher at Xavier Institute: combines role as Spider-Man and Teacher, has to deal with X-Men shit on top of his own.

Commute to Manhattan would be a bitch. He's either spending time, money, web fluid (which is also money) or another X-Man's time (by flying him over there)

This.

He'd never be able to get any time in the suit.

>Jameson, you gotta believe us, Peter Parker is Spider-man, he is lying to you. Look what he did to us. He'll do the same to you. Heed our words and don't fall for Parker's tricks.

I gotta ask this thing : who the fuck was it that said that Peter is ultra-super genius level and not some nerd who loved physics enough to be a university professor? Because the whole wank about Pete somehow being super smart is rubbing me completely wrong and I don't even remember it being a thing at first. It's like how DC tried to make a Wally a super genius instead of gadget kid that semi-failed to replicate the Flash's experiment.

If anything, Pete should be able to either do both or have a middle ground that is applicable for him : be a science / physics teacher because the universities won't hire him for contrived reasons applicable to poor people that are always late to class so he settles for a school and have a part-time job photographing since Jameson is still paying him and for old time's sake.

His """photographer carrier""" consists of selling shitty selfies that facilitate his own character assassination. It would be fine in the short run when he crossed financial despair even horizon: getting paid to sell your own good name is a nice cruel irony - but it should've never lasted as long as it did. Peter should've found a new job shortly after falling out of his post-grad studies, and Jonah should've received character development like he did in Ultimate instead of staying evil old goat forever.
Teacher is perfect because it's a humble occupation but Peter gets to actually make a difference outside of costume. Also, it allows for presence of relatableā„¢ teenage problems without turning him into manchild.

MJ paid their bills during the teaching era. Her failed money investment is a plot point in Marvel Knights.

And yet, somehow he had 5 years of comics where he did both.

I was hoping someone would re-enact that but I'll settle for that.

Come on guys he should be a scientist.

>I don't get people who say he should be a teacher
JMS overrated run is to blame for this

With your autistic adherance to status quo, you should get a job at Marvel Comics

>who the fuck was it that said that Peter is ultra-super genius level
It was Reed Richards, but I can't find the panel at the moment.

It's not about the status quo, it's if he's a photographer then he can do his job while being Spidey. Any other job and he has to keep hours as well as get a good night's sleep not leavinf much time for heroing.

>MJ paid their bills during the teaching era. Her failed money investment is a plot point in Marvel Knights.
Is that in support of my point? Because I don't see how it's against it. We're not talking about Straczynski's run.

Journalism is dead, Parker. Go into pharma.

It has a well done Vocaroo. Probably just search for it on Youtube.

Personally I think Peter needs a job snapping on porn shoots.

Don't you steal Felicia's gimmick of doing that while she and Spidey bang, then release the shoots on the net to blackmail him.

Nice.

I always assume that when people talk about about Peter being a teacher, they mean a full package of him also being a married fully grown adult and experienced superhero. That's why I mentioned MJ taking care of money problems.

what a great argument
>I don't get people who say he should be a teacher.
because it's character progression peters passion is science not photography JJJ pays shit and treats him and spidy like crap he stayed with the paper because it was the steadiest income he could manage at the time as a highschooler/college student as a teacher he has the ability to help out kids that were like him and pass on his passion for science

Alright, As long as he's not a beneficiary of a satanic pact.

Reed AND Hank both complimented him, Hank even saying it was crazy how he invented webbing as young as he did.

Whne did that happen though? Because both in the cartoons and old comics it seemed not so much as a random occurance of genius as much as him connecting already existing dots and as much as I hate Bendis and the ultimate universe's story, Pete completed his father's already semi-finished formula. And the reason I'm asking is because I think it's at that point where his character takes a hard turn and instead of him being Spider-man they try to make him Spider-Avenger super hero.

I just can't remember Stan's or Conway's run having that.

Hank is Marvel Knights, Reed is Spider-man/Human Torch: I am with stupid, iirc

The original Civil War

That explains it. Thanks anons.

Peter works great as a teacher. Photography can still be a hobby.

Isn't that a good compromise?

What about him teaching photography?

You mean a lame ass college credit course? No thanks. Peter is a smart cookie, and he wants kids to be interested in science like he was. That's the appeal. Photography can still be a part of Peter's life, but it shouldn't be his main source of income.

see

Peter is super smart and I think that it would be a good part of Spider canon if he was never able to capitalize on that since he knows it would take too much time sway from being Spider-Man.
