Is it just me or has Ethan gotten worse since Shortpacked!? Back in SP! he was fairly obsessive but still mostly functional, but in DoA he's breaking relationships over Transformers. Is peak Ethan going to be a middle-aged shut-in surviving off of NEETbux who has been kicked out of every local con for getting into fights and harassing people at panels?

He was pretty bad in Shortpack. I'm not going to look it up, but there was a strip where Amber shelved out some extra money and got a transformer toy early for Ethan, only for Ethan to admit he already got the toy some extremely shady shit, I think he bribed some dock worker or something.

Doing shady shit to beat the street date is a much lower level than "dump a dude because he didn't know Transformers trivia."

It's quite in-character, but it makes for a poor story; Joyce honestly feels more like she's becoming atheist because she can't find a mainstream/liberal Christian church with the right kind of music and decoration than profound theological disconnect. Furthermore, this is being treated as, presumably, Joyce's first crisis of faith and not only is someone going atheist, or worse anti-Christian, due to a single crisis of faith something of a cliche, it also implies that Joyce's faith wasn't particularly deep or sincere in the first place. Becky is having a much more grounded approach to reconciling her Christianity and her lesbianism than Joyce is reconciling her Christianity and Becky's lesbianism. Jacob is a goddamn saint for putting up with Joyce's bullshit.

I doubt Willis has much knowledge about a Jamaican Christian cult that went defunct 100 years ago, but he does have a pretty encyclopedic knowledge of the Bible. Unfortunately it's mostly rote memorization and his theological knowledge is heavily skewed towards American non-denominationalist Evangelical/Charismatic Christianity. The man hasn't really shown a good grasp on mainline denominational or non-Protestant theology, much less apologetics.

Nah, DoA's porn is completely separate comics while Ennui Go has it mixed with regular pages.

I meant more that EG is a sitcom with a static cast of characters in a singular setting while Oglaf is a fantasy anthology of one-shots mixed with a couple of recurring features and places.
