Nah, it's just a reflection of what happened to teens of the 80s.

His last 3 movies were his best appearances

I actually like Gimili Thor

It was funny

The Russos seem to hate random characters.
Star Lord
>undermined by Thor in IW
>Guardians don't listen to him on Knowhere
>bitched out by Thanos to shoot his gf
>ruins his own plan
>fucking dies
>gets made fun of in Endgame even though he's dead
>dead gf from the past kicks him in the balls
>team continues not to listen to him and gets bitched out by fat Thor
Ant Man
>creates the time travel plan but gets treated as if he doesn't understand his own plan
>berated by Carol and Rhodey for no reason
>dragged out scene just to say no one knows who he is
>turned into a baby and old man then pisses himself
>waste one of their viles of Pym particles
It's like the Russos think if the character is humorous then they're automatically assigned to be a joke. I think Those came out unscathed in Infinity War because Ragnarok was recent so they went with his old characterization. Once they saw that people thought he was funny as well we got fat Thor who's nothing but a joke.

Depression was a bitch and he was back to his old self by the end. Talk about complaining about nothing.

>Depression was a bitch and he was back to his old self by the end. Talk about complaining about nothing
Back to his old self by the end, but he didn't do shit this entire movie. The people complaining about Thor are almost as annoying as the ones pretending they didn't sideline the character in Endgame.

His depression was just a cheap gag. Characters mainly laugh and make fun of him the entire movie and we're supposed to do the same. If you think we're not look at that briefing scene again. The only time a character talks to him about it at all is when he's with his mom or Rocket slaps him

The movie was good to Ant-Man though, the characters that tease him during the movie are the ones that he personally saves from death. The jokes at his expenses in the end made him look better because he was one of the most useful Avengers in the whole movie.

He also is the only person in the whole movie that made Tony Stark very butthurt.

It takes the piss out of Nazi/white supremacist imagery.

or

Disney is run by atheists

>Avengers are 99% white
>something bad happens to an Avenger
>"wtf why do they hate us bros"

That thankfulness is nowhere in the movie. They constantly treat Scott like a dumbass the closest he gets is punching the chitari ship. His actual accomplishments are taken by Tony, Banner, and even Rocket

>"you're right scott, sorry for calling you names, I take it back"
>*looks into the camera*
>"we didn't want to offend you guys"
user in charge of directing

SENSITIVE NIGGAS

Or just don't waste run time with terrible jokes. The age change scene was unnecessary and so was the picture scene. It's inconsistent with the tone and a waste of the three hours. You won't die without an MCU joke every five seconds will you?

Because he doesn't need it, he sees more important to accomplish the mission than the gratitude. They threat him like a dumbass because he acts silly and talks funny and because some of Avengers that interact with him are assholes. Rhodey was still salty about that airport fight, Rocket and Nebula are assholes and Tony talks condescendingly in general. Is made perfectly clear in the end that he cared more about saving their lives than getting recognition or their gratitude and in doing so, he quite literally grows into the bigger man.

The only time when Scott actually retaliated against someone is when it really matters, specifically when the NY heist fails and against Tony Stark of all people. Tony still had his condescending attitude when it was his own fault that they failed. And the funny thing is that Tony didn't even had a proper comeback to that because he knew that Scott was right and he still recurred to petty comments like "pissant"

The movie make jokes about him to showcase specifically that, even though he is a silly dude that acts funny, he is still one the most competent and useful member of the Avengers, one of their heaviest hitters too.

>these kids didnt want a selfie with MCU's biggest hero.

sure, he wasn't suited up but...

Endgames big problem was contracts trumped all in regards to the writing. Make Thor a joke is fine because he's got one more film to make up for it. Ruffalo's willing to do more so no big scenes for Hulk, Antman gets no respect because he's still got ways to do to make up for it. Guardians still have their big finale to look cool in.

But RDJ and Evans were out forever so it milked them for all they were worth and gave them all the screentime and made them the most important and respected of everyone.

Jeebus, it's like Antony Mackie's joke about IW should've ended with everyone singing Falcon's praises except you're serious

That part didn't bother me.

He wasn't in suit, also he'd been gone for 5 years, and unlike the Avengers he didn't really have any public heroing. The Yellowjacket incident was mostly on the downlow, the Airport fight was in germany and ended with him getting KOed anyway, and the Antman and Wasp heroics were mostly a glorified carchase.

He's not a major public hero like the Hulk was.

Hulk gave Antman a taco, Hulk is truly best friend.

Yeah, that is kind of sad for him. Ant-Man's powers are good to make one go unnoticed and Giant-Man is seen as a bad guy by the public. I hope he makes more public heroics in Ant-Man 3 or another Avengers film and gain some fans, he definitely deserves some recognition.

He gave him two tacos.

They wanted to "depower" Thor so Captain Marvel would be the percieved new power house of the avengers. Prime Thor and Captain Marvel would've been able to defeat Thano easily.

>Professor Hulk befriends Scott because he knows what feels like to not be appreciated
Pottery and best friends in the making

The actor is a white male who flashes white power symbols, of course they should hate him.

Rocket is an intuitive tech genius, though. He probably can't design as well as Tony but put him at a work table with Scott and he'll win a "fix it" competition every time.

its impossible to dislike chris

>Thinking the Russos hate Ant-Man

Trips wasted.

Funny how no one replied to the most reasonable post ITT.

Clearly the way to combat being mean to white characters is to reduce the number of white characters.

Based as fuck. Yeah, Ant-Man could unironically become one of the best Avengers in the franchise moving forward.

All of two white characters died, and one was arguably the iconic main character of the whole MCU whose entire character arc had been closed in a way that most people found reasonable and emotionally resonant. The other sacrificed herself in one of the most emotional scenes of the whole MCU who's also getting her own solo movie in a year or so.

Plus, with the snap, they brought back a shit ton of white characters who died in the last movie. Quit your bitching.

>but he didn't do shit this entire movie
He went for the head.

>The movie make jokes about him to showcase specifically that, even though he is a silly dude that acts funny, he is still one the most competent and useful member of the Avengers, one of their heaviest hitters too.
This.

The characters do NOT need to treat Scott with respect if it goes against their mannerisms, because Scott is proven to be a badass hero IN THE MOVIE.

Well Ant Man is an Original Avenger. He deserves the respect. A shame we couldnt have Hank and Tony banter and maybe dote on how Tony would be a better dad than he was .
