Wait, you mean this hasn't come out yet? I always thought that it either wasn't even a thing at all, or that it had come out long ago. You mean this is still in development?
Kevin Martin
Close Enough
Pinky Malinky (Which looked like shit anyway so who cares)
iirc they finished but the publisher was no longer interested and are still in search of another one.
Jace James
this movie seemed like some sort of money laundering scheme or something. Everything about it is bizarre
Lucas Morris
guess the toys didnt sell
Andrew Lewis
>Pinky Malinky
But it came out on Netflix. Tho it's much different from the orginal pilot.

Kevin Bennett
Aiden Wood
Do children really think butts are funny? I feel like I never did, but that cartoons kept telling me that I was supposed to.
Jonathan King
No. Butts were never funny. But I attribute my love of butts towards all the curvy ladies in cartoons
Gavin Bailey
They considered doing this? I never heard of it
Joseph James
Disney comes to Yea Forums they knew about the fetish fuel nightmare they had accidentally created.
Anthony Edwards
OH LAWD HE COMIN
Brandon Sanchez
There was supposed to be:
>a tv show
>an animated movie
>an animated tv show

Been out since January, and the second season dropped 2 weeks ago.

I thought for sure this finished like 3 years ago but apparently I'm wrong
kickstarter.com
The comments are a fucking riot though.
Ryder Sanchez
John K is incredibly lazy, this along with him being a pervert made me lose respect for the guy. Which is sad because had he not stuck to gross out, he could've been an amazing animator. Pic related is his Star Trek sketches from the late 80s.
Connor Sullivan
There's a Planes 2?
Kevin Reyes
hope webseries count here.
Samuel Fisher
the whole thing is on youtube, with unfinished animation but at least you can see the short.
It's bad.
Connor Ward
back in 2009, there was said to be a Flanimals movie in development by Blue Sky, and we haven't heard anything of it since then
Josiah Russell
Elijah Thomas
Samuel Carter
I've only contributed to two Kickstarters, and this is ironically the one I regret less.
Jordan Wilson
Met Eric Powell this year.
He's said it is a slow but steady thing, and still happening.
Which could just be him egging people on to be optimistic, but I mean I remember reading the very Deadpool script that ended up being used almost 8 years before that movie came out.
Oliver Cooper
It looked great, the trailer was perfect
Nathaniel Campbell
Netflix should fund it. The same studio also did Love Death & Robots
Easton Harris
holy shit i forgot about these books, i used to fucking love them as a kid
Connor Ortiz
What's the other one?
Jordan Murphy
>models are completely done and look fantastic
>still in development hell
For fuck's sake half the work is already done! Hire some pajeets to animate the damn thing.

I guess this one
Chase White
Wyatt Ramirez
fuck you sony
Asher Edwards
Ayden Jones
Cooper Bennett
they had 3 models, that’s it
And if the concept art was to be believed, there was still a shitload more to go
Anthony Miller
I hope whoever ones the rights to this just releases it soon

I really wanted this to happen. What the hell happened? The comics are so fucking good!

>Sly's old VA said he was never approached for it
Why split the difference? Either do all new cast or all returning cast.
Michael Barnes
It's not really dead yet, just still in work and not released.
But damn dos it look cool!
Jayden Wright
>It came out in 2016
>its in nigger Spanish
>no subs

WHY
Gabriel Smith
Would have been cool.
Blake Russell
Might as well throw in Enter the Florpus while you're at it.
Chase Johnson
Jesus Christ.
Adam Hall
You mean this?
Joshua King
Is David Fincher still attached or did he divert all attention to Love Death and Robots?
Carson Reyes
>that Sinister Six movie Sony wanted to make right after TASM2
Ethan Taylor
Nolan Gonzalez
Oh yeah, Archie was gonna do a Mario comic weren't they, written by Ian Flynn. Might've been cool honestly.
Charles Sullivan
Why did Glen Keane (the most talented living Disney veteran besides maybe James Baxter) feel the need to make what looks like a Blue Sky-tier talking animal poop butt flick?
Brayden Wright
Money?
Xavier Campbell
Nevermind I looked it up and it turns out it's Chris Bailey instead, whose track record is somewhat worse but still way too good for shit like this.
Ethan Ramirez
He was involved with that? i thought he was working on that netflix movie.
Jordan Jackson
>Disney doing Philip K Dick
I really would like to see that.
Jackson Gonzalez
Anthony Fisher
yes, we had a thread on this years ago
I liked some of the concept art a lot
Dominic Peterson

This artist has got a whole portfolio of concept work he did for the failed project

I guess it got canceled for the same reason Newt got canceled: too similar to another movie Blue Sky was making.
Colton Perez
>Originally slated for release in 2012, the film was reported as shelved in December 2009. In July, 2010, it was reported by various sources that King of The Elves is back in development and it is being directed by Chris Williams, co-director of Bolt. It was later reported that the production was doing so well that it rivaled Frozen for a 2013 release date. Production eventually stalled due to story problems, and director Chris Williams started helping other current film projects on the side.
William Williams
>It was later reported that the production was doing so well that it rivaled Frozen for a 2013 release date.
top fucking kek
Justin Young
Not him but a larger than expected number of people within the industry have admitted to at least browsing Yea Forums in some capacity, moreso compared to other interest based boards on the site. There's obviously your fair share of seething autists and /pol/acks that every board has but Yea Forums has nowhere near the controversy or edge that Yea Forums and Yea Forums have accumulated in comparison. As such, I wouldn't put it past Disney at all to have at least some people checking in here time to time.
Christian Mitchell
Obligatory
Levi Stewart
Would you believe me if I told you they had a Discworld movie lined up too? Because they did.
Jacob Morris
I'd believe it. Think I heard something about Disney wanting to change or omit Death because he wasn't family friendly, and Pratchett pulled out without any further consideration.
Gabriel Kelly
>Death because he wasn't family friendly
he was the most endearing Grim Reaper ever. Idiots.
Zachary Sullivan
The Eisner age was an interesting one where you simultaneously had Disney's best and classic works revive the company while they also had absolutely brilliant concepts never see the light of day because of business autism. Given how little we know of Disney's future lineup for well, ANY of their divisions, we'll probably figure out if that still holds true at D23.
Elijah Williams
who's gonna host it now that Lasseter is gone?
Owen Rodriguez
Yea Forums is literally the best place on the net to talk about cartoons imo, wouldn't put it past anyone to come here, really.
Thomas Phillips
Khonjin house is still funny though
Christian Long
God dam valve time
Aiden Allen
Man, TF2 getting an actual series on [as] would've been so good. At least Valve would be doing something instead of fucking around with VR.
Kayden Miller
Jennifer Lee probably I dunno
As far as films go I don't have high hopes this year. Iger is on his way out soon but these next ones were greenlighted while he was head honcho so I'm expecting more sequels from WDAS. As far as Pixar goes I'm only really excited for Onward because Chris Pratt and Tom Holland sound like wonderful leads for such a film. It's hard to get excited when these studios have gotten staler and staler.
Luis Richardson
I hope they've learned something after their dumb ass card game
Cooper Peterson
>Do children really think butts are funny?
Yes.
t. daddy
Parker Evans
I really hope so too. Literally no one wanted it.
Nathaniel Gray
Juan Price
>Death not family friendly
>When dead parents are basically a fucking prerequisite for a MC

it really wouldn't
Jack Perry
yup, another low disney era ahead
Brayden Martin
Huh. I kinda wonder how they would've handled this. Is there any info on what they were planning for it or did they not get that far?
Owen Anderson
what I don't get is why didn't Valve just outsource it instead of trying to do it in-house
Logan Ramirez
Jordan Williams
i wanted to see this
Owen Evans
Is foreign stuff alright for this thread? I've been reminiscing about this PV again lately.
youtube.com
Elijah Collins
i remeber they made a special with 3d movdels, it did not look good.
Juan Reed
How much of that movie was completed? They had merch ready to go so I don’t get why it hasn’t at least been dumped on a streaming service like other Dreamworks films
Asher Parker
Here's another Chinese property stuck in development hell, which. Sucks because the animation looked pretty good.
Gabriel Turner
Matilda the Musical composer, Tim Minchin, was directing this dreamworks film, Larrikins, until it got canceled. Some concept from the film was reused in the short, Bilby.
Elijah Lee
There was gonna be a Saturday morning Aliens cartoon?
Is that what the Kenner toys were based off of?
Dominic Jackson
Caleb Reed
Is at least the Invincible animated series still on the plate?
Sebastian White
Benjamin Jackson
Jason Turner
he's delusional
probably gone
nobody seriously considered doing it; Fincher seems to have bought into it somehow, but Powell retains so much creative control - over casting, over the minutiae of editing and directing and producing - that nobody wants anything to do with it
investing in it would be like investing in Food Fight after the original footage was lost: there's clearly a crazy man with 0 experience running things, you will not get anything out of it but poorer
which is why they had to have a Kickstarter just to fund an animatic (again, a weird choice because Powell - since Fincher isn't insane and has experience of making movies, but then again I suppose has no experience of how animation works, and so may have gone along with it without asking questions - insisted that to pitch the movie to studios they needed to produce the entire thing as an animatic, with voicework
that was like five, six years ago
it ain't happening
Nathaniel Perez
Yes. But no way it could've fly past of the censors without being nuttered into oblivion
Kayden White
The idea that Disney cares about accidentally encouraging degenerates after basically inventing furries is hilarious.
Mason Lewis
>Canceled or in Development Hell
The DCEU.
Blake Morgan
Disney doesn't own Hannah-Barbera (yet).
Henry Perry
Good. No fat fur fetish shit for you.
Anthony Kelly
Chase Richardson
This wasn't about Khonjin house. It was about Supermental, a series that didn't even made it to 5 episodes before being dead in the water.
Jacob Hall
speaking of CG Animation Tests:
youtu.be
Adam Ramirez
It's still related to Khonjin House since that had buildup for Supermental.
The kickstarter looked promising, but he wasn't able to get a demo out by the end of the funding period so he cancelled it.
but then shortly afterwards he felt dissatisfied with the original plans for Supermental and after leaking the intended plot he scrapped it and started over. This also meant going through all the original Khonjin House episodes and removing references to Supermental (along with cutting out jokes he didn't think were funny anymore or would get him in trouble with Youtube).
And then you had the allegations being thrown back and forth. Connor Lavery was planned to be a guest on the Pizza Party Podcast but after the drama started they changed their mind.
Parker Collins
Nah, it was just a pitch that never went any farther than that.
Luis James
He's an incredible artist, but a scumbag with a horrific work ethic. Damn shame.
Dylan Lee
The fuck ever happened to this?
Nathaniel Cooper
A real bummer. Either Way, that series was killed off and sadly we never got at least a third ep. aw well. hopefully in a few years he'll try to present it better. and treat his animators better.
i still dislike how they made pent a tranny though.
Colton Scott
>i still dislike how they made pent a tranny though
What's the source for that anyway?
Was it part of the big leak he did?
Ryan Sullivan
Probably got dumped on the cutting room floor.
Evan Sanchez
yeah, apparently.
here's the sauce
>pastebin.com
spoiler is what i recall of him being trans from it
he apparently goes through this weird phase where his mind is being occupied with the concept of shelby and smack enters his mind and destroys it. shit goes south and pent forgets who he is and also he transitions by falling into a volcano.
i just think it would have been decent/better if they just left it to him having a dead girlfriend. maybe have her be a ghost or something but connor just making him trans out of nowhere just feels like he's pandering to the tumblr crowd.
( i mean, no surprise there if it was true, considering he used to ran a blog over there. twice. )
Zachary Williams
Worlds of DC is better idea now.
Hudson Bennett
Still being advertised so probably late this year or early 2020.
Caleb Lee
I suppose perfectionism? I mean TF2's humor is very dependent on Robin's writing and the VAs far as I know. Plus having it outsources would look too cheap compared to how good the animation for all the Meet the Shorts are.
That and honestly stuff made by content creators are good enough for me.
youtube.com
Daniel Bennett
From what little I can find on this movie it seems to be in development hell.
Charles Rogers
This would've been fucking awesome
Jackson Morales
Peach looks like she's been getting high on dope.
Matthew Sanders
>Being worked on sporadically from 1979 to 1986, the film's development and production had difficulties which finally prompted the film being abandoned before completion. The Works would have been the first entirely 3D CGI film had it been finished in the early 1980s as intended. This goal was later accomplished by Pixar's Toy Story, released in 1995, nearly a decade after The Works was attempted.
youtube.com
Noah Rogers
>Saturday Morning Aliens cartoon
Oh, 80's. Never stop being ultra-capitalist.
Michael Stewart
So what would the post revival era be called?
William Jones
I questioned if this would be another 1-season thing anyway
Jose Nelson
Dark Sequel Era of Despair
Julian Lopez
I think after Ratchet and Clank underperformed Sony pulled the plug
Samuel King
Looks like the animation would have been very fitting for a late 90s or very early 2000s short. Experimental but very impressive for the time.
Jonathan Ross
Yeah I think that's what happened. I also heard that it was supposed to be retooled into a tv series done by the sonic boom team.
Robert Rivera
coming october this year.
anyone know what what happened to Underdog?
Adrian Jones
Don't not know about that.
Also October of this year? Source on that?
Justin Roberts
Christian Ramirez
Wasn’t Disney working on a film based on Stephan Pastis’ children’s book
Nathan Gray
Looks cool.
Connor Bell
It's releasing on Disney+ I'm pretty sure
Isaiah Reyes
But it's coming out in August.
Jayden Mitchell
I don't remember the name of it or have an image on my desktop but I will never not be mad about that one Regular Show style CBS show
Christopher Rogers
>mfw i actually see some B.O.O merch in my local store
Daniel Ramirez
Did they just run of out ideas for dwarfs after the fourth and just copy-pasted one three times? Also why are they gree?
Bentley Wilson
Definitely, they had older art on their website that had four had dwarfs and only three actual characters.
Joseph Walker
Cancelled because of Blue Sky's Rio, which Disney now owns. Pottery.
Angel Gray
>buttmonkey boy
>insufferable girl
>kung fu panda
>catgirl
>scarecrow from oz
Jace Evans
it's called Close Enough.
Lucas King
>cat girl
She's a fox mate
Ayden Miller
generic anime "ears atop hair" fox giril
Brody Collins
Disney’s “Newt” was retooled as “Inside Out”
Luke Morris
this was retooled into Emperor's New Groove
Christopher Gonzalez
At least one of the songs "Snuff out the light" was on the official soundtrack.
Alexander Green
I recall there was a huge behind the scenes drama for this film. Got retooled a couple of times
Samuel Lopez
It's weird to think that the corporatized version of this story likely ended up garnering more love and praise from people than the original likely ever would. On one hand yeah, it would have been great to have another traditional Disney classic but I still have a great love for what we got. It's such a unique film compared to the rest of Disney's lineup and it's pretty damn funny to boot.
Alexander Rogers
Agreed, it's one of my favorites.
Jeremiah Myers
>Newt
>Inside Out
What does one have to do with the other?
Christian Bennett
happens all the time
Maui movie wasn't evevnsupposed to have a princess, they added Moana later and wrote the story around her.
Fix it Felx was supposed to be the protagonist of Wrech it Ralph. Cowboy Woody was a huge dick to Buzz. and so on.
Lincoln Cox
At least he wasn't bitter about it
>didn't get approached for it
>said everyone should go see it anyway instead of protesting
>if it does well it may lead to an animated series or another game in which they may approach him for one of those
I should listen to his podcast again someday...
Leo Murphy
He's got his wired crossed somewhere, all I know is that Newt was cancelled due to Blue Sky's Rio being released first.
Brayden Brown
Check out the documentary "The Sweatbox" which details the production of the movie. It was made by Sting's wife, and never saw official public release as Disney did not want the bad rep. It's apparently available on Youtube however
Lincoln Russell
According to Pixar, Newt as an idea "wasn't working in pre-production" and Blue Sky releasing Rio was the last straw. Peter Doctor was reassigned to steer the project back on course, but agreed the idea would no longer worked and pitched his own idea that became Inside Out
Evan Russell
Stuff like that makes me even more curious to wonder what the hell went on with Gigantic to warrant just dropping it altogether for the time being. On paper it seemed really hard to fuck up, WDAS already took a classic fairy tale and added their own twist THREE different times this era (Princess and the Frog, Tangled, Frozen) all of which were considered great successes critically, commercially, or both. Gigantic didn't look like it would be much different from that formula at all. We can speculate or joke all we want about fetish shit being the reason the film got the axe, but c'mon people it's fucking Disney. The amount of fetishes they've birthed both directly and indirectly are too numerous to manage, you seriously think THIS of all films was too far for them? I think some serious shit went on behind the scenes if they couldn't somehow get THIS to work and would literally rather make two different sequels (Something previously reserved for their cheapo direct to video business) than work on a film that by all accounts should have been their bread and butter.
Levi Allen
That’s simple; it got canceled because BFG flopped.
Kayden Gray
Why does that stupid shit with a quick closeup turning to red always crack me up?
Justin Hall
It already came out in South Korea, user. As for international release, dunno.
Logan Lopez
Is the Gorillaz show still happening?
Jayden Hernandez
That would be about right. Pixar's still in a funk of their own.
Juan Ross
goddammit I want this so bad now
Mason Morris
they're done. just merge fully with disney.
Ryder Cox
How does a book adaptation film have any impact on an old fairy tale getting the Disney treatment?
Thomas Mitchell
remember Mars Needs Moms flopping?
Hudson Ramirez
Bullshit, it's not like BFG just cornered the market on every single giant movie ever made. It wasn't even memorable enough to do that. We're comparing the generally consistent work of modern day WDAS to a senile old man who now only makes a half decent film once in a blue moon. Of course it's always possible since you never know with these Hollywood execs but I highly doubt it. Besides, it was well known it was having problems even before BFG released.
Gavin Collins
Please say no. No one wants gorillaz anymore
Ethan Garcia
Nexus really would have made a great show.
thedorkreview.blogspot.com
youtu.be
Robert Watson
Remind me of a movie that Ufotable did before they become fully time Type/moon bitches
Anthony Foster
as long as canvas bags was featured
Hunter Robinson
Good, they need to start fresh and clean from Zack Snyder's shitty directing.
Jacob Thomas
they did
Owen Gomez
Rural Americana mixed with fantasy is a good aesthetic. I need some more of that in my life.
Isaiah Allen
It's been 5 years since the teaser trailer
Joseph Parker
they wont even include carmelita in the show
Justin Johnson
Does china just have bad luck with their animation studios in general? The guys behind that 童話聯盟 (Children's Fairytale Alliance) video ended up dissolving somewhere in 2014-2015 despite having a few projects up their sleeves supposedly.
Jack Johnson
>T. Sting
Liam Miller
So it did get canned. At least they tried with this one, animation actually looked nice too.
Sebastian Robinson
When they still haven't started the reshoots?
Brandon Green
After Ratchet and Clank bombed I wouldn't be surprised that they quietly shelved this. What's with modern games movies coming out years after their respective IPs lose their momentum? Like that WoW movie that should have been released at least half a decade earlier.
Benjamin Sullivan
Chase Thompson
Yep, straight down the drain. Some sites report that they were planning on making it a 52 episode series, including Ciwen Animations now debunk main site that can only be seen on internet archives. A few other pages claim it was going to be a film.
Damn shame, it seemed like it could have been loads of fun.
Pic related is the proto-designs from 2013.
Nathan Morgan
I'm not gonna lie, this looks awful. I don't get what the hype about American Dog was. It really feels like people only care about it because it turned into Bolt.
Eli Cook
Could have actually stood out from China's usually crappy cgi fest animations. What a shame.
Isaac Sullivan
Just put this on a streaming service. It's Brando's last role, what do they have to lose?
Camden Taylor
It gets pulled from YT alot
But someone uploaded a copy to vid.me years ago and then uploaded that to archive.org, and it hasn't been taking down from the latter in years
Jeremiah Davis
It could just be because the subject matter was too similar to BFG for them to release it after seeing how poorly that did at the box office.
Jackson Edwards
So glad Klaus got picked up by netflix, I was worried that we'd never get more than a trailer
James Jones
youtube.com
this should have been the music for it
Jacob Phillips
Which one? I don't know too much about them aside from that elusive Anime Tenchou x Touhou Project OVA of theirs.
Andrew Martinez
Looking at this I was gonna ask, what ever happened to that movie with fat snow white? Seems it's the same one. Didn't they start advertising it fucking years ago?
Nathan Parker
Simple. They're a gambit to get attention back on the dying franchises.
Cooper Cooper
What was the name of that animated series where the main character was a raccoon with a robo-suit and the main villains were set to be Kevin Michael Richardson and Tony Jay? Detroit something?
Isaac Bennett
This was the issue of Animation Magazine it was featured in, btw.
Julian Green
myanimelist.net
Owen Harris
Jason Gonzalez
Add the rocko movie to that list
Blake Jones
still hurts
Adam Hughes
I thought it came out
Benjamin Torres
supposedly it was in post production but were shutdown by nick/viacom prior to finishing. the creator was looking at suing over it.
as long as it was a parody. it was kinda painful to watch, it "took inspiration" from space ghost? no it was pretty much ripping off all of Hanna-Barbera's old superhero cartoons
Josiah Phillips
Nolan Thompson
It would of just been Rio.
Dylan Powell
Wait 2016? I thought it was 1993 for the unmade film.
Jose Roberts
What the actual fuck am I looking at?
Cameron Allen
Actually that was a DIFFERENT unproduced Betty Boop movie.
youtube.com
Ian Campbell
The amount of comebacks that have been canceled is criminal.
Ryder Davis
Mickey Mouse in Dean Martin's role.
Roger Rabbit in Jerry Lewis' role.
Would of been interesting to say the least.
Xavier Reyes
>4 Cancelled comebacks
Damn, Betty has some tough luck
Julian Gonzalez
Looks like it's gonna be five since her new series was promised a year ago.
Charles Rodriguez
>supposedly it was in post production but were shutdown by nick/viacom prior to finishing. the creator was looking at suing over it.
Source? I didn't have a chance to read about it.
David Taylor
Did Wreck-It-Ralph 2 replace it? If so, that's pretty dissapointing.
Connor Morris
Still sad.
Mason Harris
Wasn't that long ago, hopefully it's just a delay and maybe she'll comeback.
Asher Roberts
What's this? Looks like it's in the Hercules font.
Isaac Watson
Lauren Faust was going to make a movie centered around Medusa and other greek monsters but she quit the project and now looks like the whole thing has been shelved.
Andrew Edwards
Aw shucks I like Greek mythology stories, especially since I have Greek ancestry too. Aw well hopefully something similar gets made.
Tyler Gomez
Nolan Turner
Sad reminder.
Ethan Williams
And then the movie bombed hard
Henry Fisher
Parker Reed
Not hard enough.
Charles Davis
Reminder that Warner Bros. wanted to give this rapist his own movie. Probably not gonna happen.
On the bright side though, Warner Bros. is currently making a Wile E Coyote Movie.
Nicholas Stewart
hopefully not cancelled
John Collins
>starts meh
>the entire cast grows into you in 3 minutes
>cheesy heroic friendship music
god fucking damn it not again.
Brandon Moore
kino
Owen Allen
Both Betty Boop and The Furry Freak Brothers represented the spirit of a specific era. It would be really hard to bring them into the 2020's.
Joseph Jones
But it and show us user
Ryder Diaz
The brainchild of Ralph Bakshi and John K could have been amazing.
Gabriel Richardson
it's for sure coming out. People are getting invitations to view an early cut this week i'm pretty sure
Bentley Flores
Apparently there was supposed to be a cartoon show for Croc on FOX
Justin Lopez
Marvin the Martian movie pitch
dailymotion.com
Of all things to make a movie of why him?
Jeremiah Ramirez
No clue what's happening with this one. I just know that I really liked the first one.
Liam Robinson
Also a Hong Kong Phooey movie pitch from around the same time with Eddie Murphy
dailymotion.com
Jack Robinson
Is this official? I didn't hear a thing about this. I'm gonna guess Coco sucked the air out of it.
Zachary Long
It's been 2 years and nothing has happened

Coco just sucked
Brayden Gonzalez
The Elfquest movie is cominggggggggggg.
Jack Rogers
>Dog with Jessica Rabbit proportions.
Jason Parker
>Reminder that Warner Bros. wanted to give this rapist his own movie.
We need a funny rapest these days to challenge the status quo. All that cat had to do was say "no".
Aiden Cook
I was so excited for this when I was like eight
Blake Long
I cry every time I remember about Eddie of the Realms Eternal never getting a full series.
Benjamin Williams
You must of had very poor judgement as a child.
Jeremiah Lee
Original Zootopia was going to be kino. Such shame.
Logan Nguyen
Sanders and Lasseter had two different visions for the movie.
Elijah Cooper
Animated Alex Hirsch?
Blake Hall
That was just to entertain little kids, user. The actual concept art looked way different.
Caleb Brown
Gorillaz is still making music. The show's still a possibility.
Jonathan Perez
Came here to post this. Not only got dropped, but then the creator became a Christ fag, so there's no hope ever.
Zachary Taylor
Wasn't this just a pitch?
Rocko is 100% done. There was a wrap party and screenings and everything. Nick is just sitting on it at this point
Tyler Hughes
Fincher's Love Death and Robots' success might help get it on the road. Might.
Ian Ward
Weird this is on model.
What are lewd artists suppose to do with characters like this?
Parker Allen
>the creator became a Christ fag
Aaron Springer?
Justin Reyes
>What the actual fuck am I looking at?
An animated movie based on a toy line, which apparently was stolen and never saw the light of day.

Its like Wakfu had a chinese bastard child with yu yu hakasho.
Juan Watson
It's coming out late this year and I still can't believe it's real
Jack Bailey
Abraca has been in the works for god knows how long. It's coming out this year I think but Ankama has done absolutely zero advertising for it.
Isaac Kelly
Damn. Still bitter about this one ngl
Gabriel Powell
I'm popeye the sailor man,
My script's in the garbage can,
Can't sell action figures,
So got fucked by sonyggers,
I'm popeye the sailor man
Agagagagagaga!
Henry Thompson
developmenthell.jpg
Can't believe it's finally coming out.
Julian Gomez
It seems like they just didn’t want to put out another Tangled/Frozen (at least without the convenient branding of a sequel) and couldn’t come up with something outside of that box.
Ryan Hughes
That was confirmed to have been made just for the toyline.
Cameron Hall
Mulan took its place in the schedules. Next Disney original animation is going to be hispanic with LMM doing the music again.
Blake Taylor
Really liked the first one, thought is was more creative than Coco.
Only disliked that it kinda shat on the live rival just for being a soldier and the female lead being pointlessly 'badass'
Jace Sanchez
It's literally finished and just waiting to air
James King
>It's literally finished and collecting dust as we speak

There are no words to describe how much I despise modern Nickelodeon.
Grayson Sanders
I wanted to see that.
Isaac Carter
I heard Sony axe the project to make room for the Emoji movie.
William Reyes
Also it had horrible pacing at the end
Noah Jenkins
I'm glad this one avoided this fate
Jason Phillips
Jorge's doing his space western for Netflix first.
Luke Gonzalez
its the better 'pets' movie from illumination
Austin Baker
I'd still like to know what in Sam Hill makes this the most expensive cartoon ever made. Surely it's just the cast right? I can't imagine the animation being anything beyond really, really well done tweens a la Tangled's show (Which keep in mind is probably nothing short of a small fortune either.)
Wyatt Wright
>Surely it's just the cast right?
I think it's a combination of cast but also frame-by-frame animation rather than tweens judging from the promo pic and teaser trailer.
Brody Nguyen
It's frame by frame? I thought the promo pic gave off a tween model vibe for everybody. Guess we'll see then.
Zachary Robinson
Im still fucking mad
David Powell
Don't worry user! There's always a few decades from now when it'll get retooled into an objectively worse project. I'm still hoping for a surprise D23 announcement that it's back, but it's all in vain. Feels bad (;___;)
Chase Jackson
I don't think tween animation would cost five to six million dollars per episode.
Austin Ortiz
Fair enough, but having Michael Douglas and Diane Keaton in every episode probably doesn't help either.
Gabriel Fisher
>50 Million Dollar Movie
>217.8 Million at the Box Office Revenue
The Emoji Movie didn't bomb, in fact the Emoji movie made more than Laika's last three films combined on a lower budget. Let that sink in.
Parker Morales
They may be big, but they're not $5/6m big.
Ayden Reyes
Mason Rivera
Don't forget all the merchandise and app tieins.
Zachary Robinson
I'm so happy this never came out. It would have tainted the brand and it would suck. 80s cartoons are usually horrible, not to mention that it would make people link Alien with a kids show
Wyatt Hughes
I thought of one but I forgot it.
Jacob Miller
How about the Scrooge McDuck animated short (intended as his animation debut) written by his creator Carl Barks. Ended up in development hell because Disney hates fun.
Matthew Martin
Don't give up hope user! We'll still get season 3!
Any century now...
Leo Richardson
>the creator became a Christ fag
Why the fuck does that have anything to do with it? I'd say there's no hope anymore because he already made that abomination Billy Dilley and there's no turning back.
Blake Rivera
>Tangled
>Frozen
>Gigantic
End this meme
Colton White
Imagine if they made a "Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck" adaptation for Disney+
Liam Moore
Was there supposed to be a series out of this? I remember there being a movie.
Evan Anderson
The movie was meant to be a pilot for a 26 episode half hour series and the production company still lists it as being in development on their website but nothing's come out about it.
Pan mentioned it on the last episode of his podcast and I kinda hope he or another cartoon youtuber makes a video on it so that there's interest raised to find out what happened to the planned show.
Nathaniel Rogers
GOTTA WATCH SHIT MOVIES IRONICALLY XD
Josiah Perry
They'll rework this movie and instead of Jack being bullied by a girl; Just will be changed into a boy, go up to the clouds, and have to be hidden by a milf giantess/Tomboy oneesan.
Screencap this.
Brody Morales
Yeah, a miniseries would probably be the best way to go, with 1 ep for each chapter. Disney could do it whenever they want since they already own the full rights. But Rosa would be fucking pissed for sure if they adapted it.
Nicholas Edwards
>Ankama has done absolutely zero advertising for it.
Par for the course really.
Carson Brooks
As long as the films themselves are enjoyable I don't really care what their names are but the adjective naming convention for their princess films has been pretty trite at this point.
Jonathan Moore
and now he's stuck with that horrifying flash series
Isaiah Scott
Hell, a movie about food items that swear and fuck made a bigger profit than Laika's last three films combined.
Nathan Allen
After 16 years of Development hell this movie came out.
I was already happy it came out and I didn't expect anything. It was not Kino, but I didn't care about that. The story was nice enough.
Jason Cruz
What's the backstory?
Justin Morales
Heinz walks on street. Fishman ask him to pay his debts. Heinz tells a story why he didn't have the money now and escapes. Heinz girlfriend ask Heinz friend Frits to look after Her and Heinz child because she goes to paintball camp with friends and she thinks Heinz is too irresponsible to look after child. Then he seeks his child to prove to his girlfriend he's responsible enough to look after his own child.
Not for children

I mean what's the story behind the development hell

"Me and My Shadow" from Dreamworks. A hybrid of CG and traditional 2D animation. Last it was heard from it was being reworked by Edgar Wright
Someone recently did a twitter thread on it that includes concept art and test animation:
twitter.com
In regards to Rocko, the creator himself made a petition asking Nick to release the movie. For Zim, Jhonen said on his twitter the movie is done and has no clue when it will be released
>children have poor judgment
Holy fucking shit, who knew? sorry for bullying user, i hope you have a nice day
Nicholas Powell
This is also why the Sonic movie will not flop

I really like the hand draw on CGI look, even though that's 90s CGI, that style with today's tech could still easily work.
Jason Evans
I think Butts are probably funnier in america where they are more taboo, whereas in Yurop most kids see each other naked in gym class
Isaac Peterson
>movie in development since 2014-2015
>previous actress that played the role set to play the role gets health issues
>wait it out
>actress backs out

>director leaves
>new actress bows out also due to health issues
Only Flipfags will know what I’m talking about

Die Schule der kleinen Vampire was set to have a 3D movie come out. Apparently had a trailer made and everything, but then suddenly disappeared without a trace. The only visuals I've found of it were some screenshots from DeviantArt and when I messaged the user they said they found them on a Facebook group that no longer exists.
Nicholas Powell
Nice stop motion animation.

Oh boy can't wait for more megaton porn and jessie with tits pinups
Levi Sanders
I think he meant critically bombed which it did but yes it made more than its share of money back alone on stupid bullshit from people being curious and wanting to see the dumpster fire.
Evan Wilson
I'm pretty sure Dreamworks canned this one. I know it actually got to pre-vis and had a script being written. But after Blaas started doing Trollhunters and the other Tales of Arcadia stuff I think it just got downgraded to not happening.

That be a bad idea since Pixar is a family household name. Brand recognition is still a way of making money
That's probably a factor into why Illumination and Dreamworks never merged like intended
Brandon Gutierrez
China is just a horrible place overall for creativity
any ounce of creativity is usually stamped out or quickly stolen by the higher ups, so you won't get any credit for it
t. someone who worked in china at an animation studio for a western studio

Detroit Docona. Ever since I read about it in that issue long ago, I've always wondered about what happened to that show.

I'll never understand why anybody thinks that mixing live action with cartoons is a good plan.
Juan Jackson
Did the animal crackers movie ever come out? It was finished but ran into some sort of publishing problem.
Tyler James
I didn't even know they made a planes 2
Luis Morris
The conspiracy theorist in me wants to say this was only canceled so they could free up resources to get frozen 2 out faster.
Joshua Morgan
Shame, it looked interesting and I like Emily blunt
Jackson Stewart
He's not THAT much of a pervert.
He is indeed lazy as shit though.
Daniel Campbell
Did this get canceled because leftists became convinced pepe was a hate symbol or was it before that all went down?
Easton Baker
I'm very curious, could you explain more about your experience or is that too risky?
Luis Nguyen
Dude what, I saw this on the TV a while back a few times
And in english
I think it was on the Australian abc, check the abc3 website if you can make it think you are in Australia.
Samuel Garcia
It came out in China.
Joshua Peterson
I think it's a combination of both
Thomas Diaz
yeah but this one was gonna be directed by genndy. you know one of the few guys who knows how to use all the principles on animation on 3d instead of just moving the models
don't blame mavis for this, it was the emoji movie, genndy is clearly tired of hotel transylvania but he still did a great job animating the thrird one and we got mavis in a bikini
Daniel Thompson
It's going to happen.
Jeremiah Howard
It hurts knowing we'll never see Brad Bird's Spirit.

Speaking of Lewis where the fuck is When the Clown Cried. I was so excited when he died, I thought we'd be getting it

>TBS's line up to rival adultswim
People seem to blame the Louis CK stuff on this but it honestly just feels like they got cold feet in general and are praying they can stay a float on American Dad and banking hard on Final Space being their Rick and Morty
Hunter Morgan
I don't people who gave their meme bucks to the Emoji Movie. The trailer made it look so enjoyable and it's not tied to an existing franchise
Charles Morgan
Did you accidentally a word?
Noah Edwards
I know user, I'm still bitter as well. Should've pitched it to Netflix instead.
William Harris
Obviously

Elijah Davis
I watched it it was okay, I wish it was darker though. what's the point of making an independent film if you are going to end up repeating disney formula?
Noah Ramirez
The cancelled Disney adaptation of Chanticleer is a very notable one. Both this and Sword in the Stone were in development around the same time, and Walt cancelled Chanticleer in favor of SitS for numerous reasons including how he didn't think a rooster would make for a great protagonist. Personally I think he made a mistake here considering how SitS is one of the least popular films in the entire animated canon despite being made during Walt's lifetime.
Many elements of this would be re-used in the later Robin Hood adaptation.
Ayden Cox
Aren't they doing a CGI series of this? That is what I heard ages ago...
Gabriel Roberts
>Not liking Billy Dilley
Ryder Hernandez
Does it have english subs? I've been interested in korean animation since Leafy.
