I felt Vader using the word "trash" felt weird.

Rest of the story was done okay, wasn't great though.

Would have preferred just a story about some doctor who's job it is to patch Vader up and the two develop a sort-of friendship untiul he promotes her away to some cushy job on some pretty planet, so she won't crank his emo style.

What is there about Tarkin and Vader being on friendly terms? I haven't seen anything like that.

I read it, it was fine but felt a little bit Harley Quinn redux/Mad Love, just without Vader's involvement (he had no idea who she was and didn't ever care who she was, just casually killed her). Mad Love is a classic, so it's hard to match that story.
I think the message that psychopaths and other evil people won't make an exception for delusional idiots with a crush on them is a good one. On average, crazies and thugs actually treat their SOs even worse than they treat other people, not better. And just because you're an evil psychopath yourself doesn't mean other evil psychopaths will like or care about you or won't just kill you, crazy or evil people often don't get along. The Empire is always backstabbing and casually torturing and murdering each other, sometimes for no reason. At least Vader had a reason to kill an obsessive stalker instead of force choking some officers because he's having a bad day.
Still, this story doesn't really get into that and is mostly just a stalker with a crush crazy fangirl story. Fun but not deep or original.

The officer in the second issue sees Vader as the stuff of nightmares, basically a boogeyman who will come to kill him the minute he finds out the officer has failed him, and in his desperation to fix his mistake, gets his entire ship killed and the same fate that would of befell him had he not done anything at all.
This issue is centred around obsession: The nurse was ultimately a sad, pathetic person who Vader as a kindred spirit, someone who would cart her away from her lonely, mundane life, and went deeper and deeper in to this fantasy until it drove her to pretty dark places. At the same time, she ignored the reality that her boss tried to drum in her head (though for selfish reasons, he was ultimately trying to save her life along with his own), until reality put a lightsaber through her chest.
At the same time, Vader's not supposed to be in the right here, if anything, it's supposed to emphasize that he truly has no empathy for anybody, that he's every bit the cold, calculating tool for the Emperor that everyone makes him out to be. If you try to revise the ending so that he doesn’t kill her, then the message is lost and his ultimate, real redemption at the end of Return of the Jedi is diminished. Just because Vader is a sad, tragic figure doesn’t mean that all of his actions must be caked in the subtext of this tragedy, nor does it diminish the fact that he was a pretty fucking awful person in the 20 year period between the prequels and OT.

I honestly felt the comic made a valid point. Fangirls fawn over the idea in their head of a character that doesn't really match up with what the character is about. Their fantasies of the character, while harmless, are not very accurate to the character.

There are two original characters in this entire story, the doctor and the girl, neither of which are named. So what this says to me is that the problem people have with this story is that it wasn't a completely different story, with completely different characters.

Also would Vader actually refer to himself as “Darth Vader” as opposed to just “Vader”? “Darth” always seemed like something only Sheev and the Rebels would refer to him as out loud.
