Might as well complain that romance ruined Shakespeare, because Having Sex is a critical part of human life and will appear in most fictional works.
>having sex
There's no sex in any of those shows.
>might as well go to the extreme in order to justify one's existence
You can’t ruin stuff that wasn’t ever good
I think Voltron started out promising.
none of these shows were written as romances they're fantasy adventures
shipping ruined at most one episode of Steven Universe (Beta). lots of valid criticisms but i don't know what you're talking about here
The romance between Greg and Rose was a pretty big part of SU, but then again the only parts of it that shipping directly ruined might have been Lapis and Peridot related shit.
>No shipping on the show.
The fans will probably ship the characters anyway so you might as well save yourself the job and focus on the plot.
based answer
>Having Sex
Its not, kill thy self insect.
>Shipping ruined Steven Universe
When? It's pretty damn barren in terms of canon ships.
Shitty character planning ruined Steven Universe.
By slapping people upside the head and telling them to stop.
Oversaturation and too much focus ruined it jackass. Think of it like a spice. You get a nice baked potato (the show). Maybe add a little chives and sourcream (comedy and action), ensure the highest quality butter (story), cheese (writing), and put some salt on that potato (romance). However, you do not cover the whole fucking thing in piles of low-quality, shitty, fan pandering salt.
SU is garbage even without the shipping.
Establish marital status ahead of time.
By killing yourselves.

Steven Universe? Outside of small moments here and there (mostly in the early seasons) it rarely indulged in ship faggotry.
The Connie Steven arc in Season 5 is the only really bad example I can think of and it wasn't stretched out to fill a whole series like certain other shows with magic in it... Star Vs
Peridot and Lapis. The gay midgets that make up Garnet ruined Garnet's characters to.
Peridot and Lapis' biggest problem was getting shafted to the barn after the writers ran out of things for them to do.
Lapidot was never canon, hell it was barely ever implied. Their moments together could easily be written off as a strong friendship.
As for Garnet, yeah her character kinda got dumb after the reveal, but I wouldn't say it ruined or took over the show.
>Peridot and Lapis
Not even canonically attracted to each other. Just yuribait moments from a turbodyke writer.
Romance is how you really draw in female viewers, half the population.
There's a difference between romance and shipping, moron, I'd love to have a cartoon where the mc was actually in a relationship and didn't sit in the will-they-won't-they pile for the entire show until they suddenly become a lesbian.
Shakespeare knew how to write a romance, and he wrote self-contained plays. Modern cartoons have worse writers that don't know how to plan or pace a story
Steven Universe had the least amount of shipping of those examples but was by far the shittiest.
>Stars Versus
Was never good to begin with
>Adventure Time
True, but its problems stretch FAR beyond shipping
>Korra
Arguably, only the 1st season was shipping heavy. The rest were bad for other reasons.
>Steven Universe
Again, shipping is only part of the problem
>Star Vs
This is true
>AT
It had problems beyond that, Bubbline is probably the one relationship on that show with actual proper development
>Korra
The relationship drama was wrapped up by season 2
>Voltron and SU
That is entirely on the fanbase, the show itself had very little of it.
Clean house.
Shipping rarely ruins shows themselves, but rather is a symptom of wider problems that the show is facing, with ship pandering just being one aspect of those problems, often the most minor.
Shipping does, however, completely ruin fanbases, and even when it doesn't is guaranteed to be the most cancerous part of any given fanbase.
