"Uh oh. Crotch the weed, Homer."

"Well, well, well. If it isn't the Doobie Brothers. Smell any drugs, Sgt. Scraps?"

"For me, the '60s ended that day in 1978."

There's a few episodes from Season 16 and 17 that are worth watching, otherwise that's all the Simpsons you need.

Much like how a lot of animation fans somehow think the 90s ended in 2004?

s13 is my cut-off point.

Season 13 still has a lot of lingering Scullyisms in it. I don't regard it that highly.

He's just jealous because his asthma made it impossible for him to partake when he was a lad.
uh no, the 90s ended in 97, especially in terms of tv animation

sneed's feed and seed

Can we shitpost in this thread?

The 90s ended on September 11, 2001.

Well, 2004 was when Nick and Cartoon network canned all their late 90s shows. I can kinda see why people say the 90s ended in 2004.

Shortly after that, we entered the Gen Z/Zoomer kid culture era with shows like Ben 10, Johnny Test, Chowder, and Flapjack.

Eh, I'd disagree. Despite being post-9/11, 2002-2003 was mostly THE SAME as 1998-2001 in terms of pop culture style.

The second half of 2004 marked a changed screaming "THE 2000S CULTURE IS HERE" and the late 90s influence was over. Nick and Cartoon Network cancelled all the 90s shows, the re election of Bush, The Rock retired and WWE begun transitioning to Cena and Batista, emo overtaking nu metal, crunk rap overtaking glam rap, Myspace getting popular, Laguna Beach, release of Nintendo DS, broadband overtook dial up for the first time, etc.

2003 was completely different from 1998, it wasn't the same era at all.

>"For me, the '60s ended that day in 1978."
I thought the line was, "that day on December 31st 1969"

>Shortly after that, we entered the Gen Z/Zoomer kid culture era with
Please do not use Reddit memes outside of Reddit. Thank you.

I'd disagree, 2003 felt like it was still part of the same overall era of music, movies, and TV shows as 1998-99. Nick and Cartoon network still had the same cartoons from the late 90s.

Spotted the zoomer

Once Bush was in office in early 2001, it definitely didn't feel like the 90s anymore.

The boomer meme originated on /fit/ though.

sneed

IDK, the music definitely changed. 90s powerhouses like Manson, Korn, and Limp Bizkit went downhill after 2000. The boyband thing ended and Justin Timberlake was his way to a solo career. Shitrock like Disturbed started taking over.

okay, this is based

It wasn't Bush, it was 9/11 that changed it all

What "boomer meme"?

The le ebic boomer energy drink man meme.

I actually kind of like this episode but a lot of people hate it.

things got really shit in the mid 2000's

the mid 2000s were so bad i think if i grew up in that time i wouldn't even like cartoons
Even shows i do like, like simpsons and spongebob had so many shit episodes at that point, the chances of me seeing a bunch of shit episodes first and hating the series would be very high

Did you also know it was written by a Season 1-4 writer?

Jon Vitti. Yeah his comeback in Seasons 13-15 was a bit of a letdown.
