What anime gets referenced/parodied nowadays? Is it still Pokemon, DBZ, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Speed Racer and Sailor Moon?

I've been rewatching Rurouni Kenshin. I've been watching Season 2 completely blind because I never got to finish this series originally back when it was airing on Toonami. I got to the very start of the Raijuta Arc and never finished it

I feel so goddamn angry I never got to finish this amazing anime. Sanosuke Sagara fits the definition of a man being born cool and his only ambition in life is to help Kenshin on his quest to keep Japan on some semblant track record of peace

I cannot fucking believe when you have shows like Craig of the Creek where you have dumpster fire characters like Kelsey whose gimmick is she thinks she's a swords woman but she's really shit at it they don't reference good anime

Kenshin is the most based and redpilled anime to ever exist.

Akira and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Isn't the creator in jail for child porn, leaving the sequel series permanently unfinished?

Steven Universe and Craig of the Creek reference Evangelion way more times then should be comfortably allowed

Arthur did it first.

Unfotunately not harem animu

Tenchi Muyo got a shoutout in Kingdom Come, but that's not really recent.

It never needed a sequel series much like it never needed an uncanon 3rd season where nothing fucking mattered after Shisiro gets fucking 86'ed by Kenshin

The best Filler related bit of content to come from Rurouni Kenshin was the Jinpuu Squad Assassination arc which I deem to be so good it bums me out a little it was never mentioned in the manga because it was an entire Arc about Kenshin teaching a cult of assassin's that honor is not a requirement for being a manslayer and to choose suicide over not facing your crimes leads to dishonor and makes you no different then scum

Arthur mentions tons of weird shit because the people working at LBS would rather be working on anything other then Arthur

Wild Kratts is still the only good PBS show on PBS right now and even then the Kratts brothers are bad at writing stories

>It never needed a sequel series
I liked Yahiko no Sakabato.

>Wild Kratts is still the only good PBS show on PBS right now
I've seen a couple episodes of that because it would after Arthur on my PBS station. Man those villains are one dimensional.

The only time Yahiko was ever good was during the climax of the Raijuta Arc and even then his side plot of teaching swordsmanship to that one Shota wasn't even why that Arc was so based

It was the scene where the Japanese Military absolutely fucking massacured Raijuta's garbage army despite it stockpiling weapons they were buying with that kids fortune and learning Raijuta the Jobber had a garbage paper cut sword and when Kenshin figured this out he was like "I'm about to make you taste the fucking ground"

>not liking a THICC shortstack Tsundere Multi-Billionaire who takes no shame in calling her corporation something as stereotypically evil as Pave Nature Inc

Everyone really knows Helga is Grimes.

Motherfucker, are you forgetting the time he used dynamite to get mad ups on the flying skellington so he could imitate Kenshin and bring down the fucking hammer?
Yahiko only got better as the story progressed, and I wish Yahiko no Sakabato had gotten far enough to actually show the cat-eyed boy return with a fucking swordcane and fencing skills.

I don't remember her.

Paisley Paver

She shows up in a few episodes. Each villain of the polluters has a different quirk to them

Donita likes to poach animals like some Cruel De Vil esque villain

Gourmand I think his name is likes to poach wild animals and make exotic dishes from them

Vertech or whomever the Jack Spicer esque character is in this show likes to build robots...that's all he does so he's Jack Spicer minus the charisma

Paisley's my favorite because she's the most energetic and entertaining character in the whole show

Bruh Yahiko will always be the loud mouthed understand shit you see in every Shounen Anime

Why the fuck would I care about his struggles when I am more fully invested in everyone else like Saito, Kenshin, Sanosuke, Megumi, Aoishi he just ends up just getting lost in the shuffle when lumped in with everyone else

Murrlogic you're real energetic tonight, hope that means you're in a good mood and not a bad one

I've been watching Rurouni Kenshin all night blind

This anime is a masterpiece and I will fight a nigga who says this is a normies 1st Shounen nigga it's the peak Shounen masterpiece

Because they're almost completely static characters save for one moment, usually at the end of their first appearance.

That's cool, you do you

Say hi to wonderbread for me

>Calling the Chad Sanosuke one dimensional

He wants to help his friend Kenshin that's standard in all Shounen anime

I am Wonder Bread you retard

I'm not saying he's not cool as hell.
I'm saying he has one, maybe two bits of character development.
Watasuki was a simple writer that got better as the story progressed.

I meant literal wonderbread, just tell it I said hi

I mean that's fair I never got an explanation as to why before he settled with just being a kickboxer of all the weapons he could have chose he chose the fucking garbage sword the Zambato

I'm hungry and I have like no money for food

I mean, the reason he used it was pretty clear, it's basically just him showing off and fighting retards up until Kenshin.
But no explanation as to how he came across such an ungodly weapon.

Probably just stole it since Sanosuke is in debt to everyone and never pays back his tabs

Steven Universe devotes a full episode each to Initial D and Shokugeki No Souma/Food Wars. They also based a fight scene off of Revolutionary Girl Utena, and while Garnet's Universe does have more than a little DBZ in its DNA, I feel like there's at least a pinch of Inu Yasha in it too.
