How is this book as good as it is? So much good character shit, actual stakes, the histories of everyone involved are all taken seriously. And the art is gorgeous!

Because Williamson quit halfway through and Abnett's writing it now.

Still bummed out that all the rewrites forced Sejic to drop out early though.

That Darkseid is more unique than the New-52 one, I wonder why?

Wait this books good? i heard it wwas awful and incomprehensible from Yea Forums. Should i start at issue 1

Oh shit, Abnett's writing now? I like Abnett.

Because he truly feels mortal and out of his depth for the first time. This Darkseid has been through some shit and is at serious risk, and that’s just interesting on its face. Like, his ultimate plan is five steps from being fulfilled, but at step three, the universe starts falling apart and all bets are off the table.

Also you have a ragtag group of Leaguers stranded with no way to get home

Yea Forums thinks everything is awful, but if you don’t like Williamson he’s off the book and Abnett’s in the drivers seat.

Something with the cast really clicks for me.
Though, I feel like the plot is a bit sluggish.

I have followed it from the start and have no idea what’s going on unless I reread the entire thing. It feels like the new aquaman book in terms of pacing and boredom

I think it's crap, but that's my no fun opinion. Too many why questions like
>Why is Azrael there?
>why would any of these character ally with Darkseid?
>what are they even supposed to be doing?

its not very good and I don't have high standards

Give it a try.

You're the first person I've seen to who said they like it? That's good though!

But it isn't good at all. Just like everything else about spinning out of Metal, the overall plot is uninteresting as hell and has way too much go from plot point to plot point writing instead of telling a compelling story. The cast doesn't feel organic, nor do they really have any type of chemistry with one another. The story ends up being yet another "Darkseid wants to remake Apokolips, kinda" with the cast just jumping from planet to planet like it's a video game and the whole "everybody from the cast is worshipped as Gods because reasons" twist thing is way too contrived. And all the keikaku bs is also tedious. Also, Darkseid feels nearly superfluous to the plot despite supposedly being important.

Yeah that was my complaint too, Darkseid's been reduced to whatever he is now. Jobbing to the new big bad again.

Because pretty much anyone else at DC can write Darkseid better than Geoff Johns.

Like that's supposed to be a good thing?

>Still bummed out that all the rewrites forced Sejic to drop out early though.
He didn't drop out, tho. He was only ever scheduled for the first arc ( because he had moar Sunstone + his Patreon stuff like Death Vigil ); but it surely DID suck that we only got a few issues since the first 2 were scrapped after they'd been drawn. Heads really needed to roll over that big of an Editorial fuck up.

I only read the Sejic issues ( and then came back for the first Giandomenico issue, because I'm an artFag first and foremost ) and this post pretty much hits the nail on the head for me as well.

I...hesitate to call it "good" in an objective sense. I feel it's like a more subdued version of Dark Nights Metal: An absolutely preposterous concept executed well with decent character interactions.

Because they started riffing from his Kirby despot days again. It isn't an original take, but I do like it better than HURR IMA BLOW UP THEMYSCIRA BECAUSE REASONS

99% the "I must become a true cosmic being" shit is about Geoffseid not Morrison's Multiversalseid, though.

The sad part is, the other New Gods jobbed even harder than he did with being oneshot by Perpetua rolling over in her sleep. Literally the only active one is Grail who's coming back for Wonder Woman #75, proving once and for all that the Darkseid bloodline's true power is main character relevance.

New Gods powerlevel depends on tipping into the source wall
Now that the wall is crubling they are all worthless aliens

Hope that in the upcoming year of villains we see YUGA KHAN Shitting Uxas pants

>Morrison's Multiversalseid
Yay or Nay?
