Star came to Earth at the beginning of the 9th grade year and left in Starcrushed after that school year had finished.

Star's birthday in the first episode was sort of retconned as not being her actual 14th birthday, and Star and Marco both turned 15 on Mewni in S3. They're still 15 right now.

Its kind've funny to me how they've put this message into the show, with the desegregation of monsters, they see that it doesn't work out because people are still going to hold to their beliefs or biases the majority of the time. And yes, they of course are trying to convey that "the children of tomorrow will be better people than we are."

What they fail to realize is that real children are sweet and accepting right now, but as they grow up they will develop their own biases based on how a different race usually acts.
Its kind of like right now with the fandom. Alot of people are unhappy with the path the show has gone down, and alot of them are happy because "yayyy LGBT rep" or "haha yeah take that you racists."

For most people, it's no longer about color. Its about the actions a group of people commits and their attitude. People aren't just racist because of color.
