I hope the Bee sequel has Soundwave and Starscream as villains an then the third big scale tf film has Megatron as big bad. Y'know teased as a threat across two films like Thanos.

Knight said he already has a G1 design for Megatron, and he wanted him in the Cybertron fight "fucking shit up like Sauron." But because they hadn't decided on whether it was a reboot, it never made it into the movie. We know that Knight fucking loves Megatron though, he's gushed about him in several interviews.

Knight is expressed interest in doing the sequel and Lorenzo said they'll like to being him back.

All evidence points to them having died between seasons due to Decepticons occupying Cybertron by the year 2005, however, they may have been purposefully omitted due to the fact that they weren't supposed to exist in the first place. So their survival remains a mystery.

Ratchet was supposed to be female, but at the last minute he was told “They are all men, these are for boys” by Hasbro. So when he went to write the comics, he had them entirely genderless and unaware what male and female meant, defaulting to male pronouns because that’s what the humans referred to them as.

The cartoon team thought it was bullshit, and kept sneaking them in. Hasbro was fairly hands-off for the cartoon aside from demanding a new character with a new toy be added in a starring role every so often. So they got away with it.

Japan loved the idea of female Transformers, even changing some lesser characters to female in the comics. Usually this was for comedy purposes, or to have Decepticons who could get beat on but not having to explain why the Autobots don’t execute them. Like pic related basically.

The reigns were so loose with Beast Wars that they just had females from the beginning, no explanation needed for that any more than how the organic parts worked. Ironically, Japan initially made all the females male or vaguely genderless in Blackarachnia’s case until they were written into a corner with Airazor and Tigertron’s kiss. They were changed back to female without explanation later.

Thanks to Beast Wars normalizing the idea, Transformers are just sometimes female now in every continuity. Unless some of the old UK comic writers are in charge, they hate the female idea. Which is why Arcee was a tranny in IDW, they let those guys have the reigns for a while and they steered her right into a tree.

When civilian Beast Wars Megatron accidentally summoned Sunbow Megatron into his universe and G1 Megs took over the toy company, he rescued G1 Nightbird and mass produced clones of her as a “maid robot” which he altered the minds of to make them adorably clumsy. When they tried to take over the world they just kept hurting themselves, and the public loved them for the antics. Megatron made a huge profit, allowing him to push purple Megs even further out of the company. G1 Nightbird learned to be a ninja and transform from the sixchangers, and conducts corporate espionage against the Maximal/Autobot companies. She eventually becomes arch enemy with Scourge and using her clones against the Sweeps, fighting to keep Megatron’s Spark as Megatron and not allow him to become the self-destructive asshole Galvatron (which Scourge wants). After Megatron became mayor she ran the company and treated BW Megs like her assistant.

Eventually she returned to the G1 cartoon, but free. She never appeared again because she found ambition as a businesswoman and didn’t care about the war anymore.

Given you know Hasbro’s rule, you can then infer the reason they only rarely occur in G1 is the writers slipping them in.

In making of interviews about the movie, look them up yourself, they talk about how little fucks Hasbro gave about the series. They mandated stuff like Autobot City be made into Metroplex in post production, and demanded concept art for movie tie-ins early on in the process. They demanded Ultra Magnus be in it, and somehow killing off all the discontinued toys.
Other than that, writers had free reign. So Arcee existing despite the rule against females meant they had snuck it in.

I would give skyrim another go, once you learn to get things up and running its a fun game and the more mods the merrier. Nv is giving me a hard time as well actually keeps ctd when I add new files. Im working on it tonight. I actually dont have many quest mods for new vegas as I like the basic stuff but I might start looking into new stuff ill let you know what I find!

I just got legends arcee, she is one of my top 5 transformers up their with slipstream and blackarachnia. I loved her look in the bumblebee movie I hope they put out a good toy of her from the movie.

I think Dollar General(?) had Kreons now and then in the states, but there's also new bags with updated tampos/parts (they're not compatible with the older ones!) and you'll have to feel for them manually, and the instruction/catalog booklet is thick too, so sad. So maybe take a look around in stores/online or just buy a whole box!!! You'll get Roddy and Kup and a buncha other neatos as well, and you can send me your duplicates!

Marvel UK (including Earthforce) and Regeneration 1 are p G1 if you've already read them. Literally Roberts' Eugenesis was nice, it was from his days in this UK fanclub - he wrote like a 3 or 5 hundred page novel, about a Quintesson attack, and without corporate mandates or fanbase inputs he was able to do whatever he wanted. It's depressing, it's fun, it's wartime, it was p kino. Was trying to find other stories in the fanclub bc apparently it's in a timeline but I haven't found it yet

Dropkick kills like two people, and one Transformer. One of the humans dying is portrayed as a joke. Shatter just beats up Bumblebee, and lets Dropkick get his hands dirty otherwise.

The effect was intentionally comical. Knight wanted some humans deaths to make it clear there were stakes for Charlie and Cena, but didn’t want to scare the kiddies. So he just kind of turns someone to water, like the Wicked Witch but with no steam and in only like a second.

Men In Black 1 comes to mind.

I went with no expectations on opening day at an early showing to watch Bee, I had a frankly terrible time at the movies due to the seats being almost empty except for a loud soiboy with a gf behind me who wouldn't shut up.
But I wanted the Bumblebee popcorn holder so I went again next day with my cousin, this time it was full. Pleasant crowd, I managed to enjoy the movie. Turns out I loved it, last year had plenty of great movies in December.

If they do have Megatron in another Bumblebee movie, I kinda want to have him retain elements from his Bayverse counterpart (much like how new!Bumblebee retains some elements from Bayverse!Bumblebee... namely the face), like having his alt. mode be very alien to Earth vehicles, as well as being too proud to take another alt. mode.

Another idea would have Megatron's face seem regular when at rest, but splits apart to resemble his Bayverse self when angry or during a battle, to show his instability.

Gender has no romantic or reproductive meaning to them. Its just another type of body, like being a shellformer or having tires on ankles instead of inside them or having a cassette alt mode.

Also, I posit the theory that the fans most interested in Transformers romance are Beastfags. That cartoon had two romantic couples, Rattrap was a mild pervert, and whatever you interpret Rampage and Transmutate as. Its normal from the start for Beastfans, whereas people from the previous generation saw gender itself awkwardly handled and dismissed and the only romantic couples being with humans or in Japan as an excuse to have civilians.

I think a big part of that is the fact Ironhide and Chromia actually got to interact again outside of the G1 cartoon and Mairghread Scott was against shipping Windblade and Chromia (i heard it's due to the fact she based their friendship on the relationship she and her irl sister had which would be pretty squick)

If I were writing TF, Nightbird would be Soundwaves go-to, most trustworthy ninja/spy and she'd be the most reoccuring Decepticon fembot. She could even still be manmade like in G1 except the Decepticons stuffed a spark in her so now she's loyal to the cons for giving her what is essentially a soul. Unfortunely for Nightbird she still has a bunch of human stuff in her memory banks like ancient Japanese history, human martial techniques, basically her "memories" are that of a 1500s ninja because the Japanese dude who built her, built her to be a museum bot for a Sengoku era exhibit or something.

She is fine being a robot however it's very confusing for her. Again, her memories are that of a Sengoku era ninja who's loyalties were towards a human warlord, however, she knows this is all fake and are just there because of programming . That being said she can't help but feel attachment and nostalgic towards things like ink wash paintings, the weaponry of the era, etc. What's worse is that the Decepticons are a potential threat to humanity yet she has no choice but serve their cause out of gratitude towards Soundwave (who carried out the operation to implant the spark) who'd be her "lord" so to speak. Meanwhile she'd probably see Megatron as her emperor or something.

Yep. Although she wouldn't really have to talk often. She probably spends a lot of her time alone or with Soundwave and talking to a telepath is pretty pointless. My Soundwave doesn't even bother listening to what people have to say or conversations, he just probes peoples thoughts and gives an immediate answer; he's difficult to talk to because of this.

One thing I hate about this art, aside from its general indistinct and undetailed bloches style, is that none of the generics or even prominent new characters actually look like they turn into anything. Miline’s style might not have been for everyone, but he designed alt-modes for half the bots he drew, even super one off ones, and the other half he didn’t still looked like they had one anyways.

This art barely looks any better than Livo’s, and it feels like it was made with way less effort than even his stuff.

Optimus is a moderate Autobot, and dislikes the other factions which he shares with Bumblebee. The extremist Autobots are political schemers, and want to maintain the status quo of control while leaving the rest of the universe to fend for itself.

The evangelists don’t seem to have goals. They just annoy everyone else.

The colonies are all warzones.

I imagine her oath only applies to Soundwave and through Soundwave, Megatron. So I think that as long as Soundwave were willing to serve a Megatron who had become Galvs, she will comply.

Possibly although I imagine her refusing it or being hesitant before accepting that kind of promotion in status. She wants to fulfill her role as a servant in the shadows and making herself more renown among the ranks would probably hinder her.

Giving citizens as much as they want gives them the ability to fight, unchecked population growth makes shortages anyway. So even if its not the goal, the result of the proto-Decepticon belief is war and conquest. The extremists just have it as a goal, the moderates just have it as a possibility they’ll address when they get there.

So you have good Decepticons and nasty ones. Like in IDW, Marvel, and the Japanese continuities.

It's not about "canon", it's about what looks good and formidable on-screen. Everytime Dropkick turned into that weird tiny copter it looked silly as fuck.

Optimus hates factions in general. He’s the sole Autobot trying to bridge the gap, and Megatron is doing the same thing as the Autobots when he rejected Optimus’s earlier call for bridge building the two factions. Now he’s pissed at everyone around him.

Prowl mentioned how insane it is that now not only do they have to keep the Ascenticons from rioting while understaffed, but also protect them from assassination at the same time. Keeping the police forces low in strength seems to be an Autobot tactic to keep the peace by not having a large number of armed bots.

We don’t know much about the religious yet. But I’d bet they may be part of the reason the colonies are all the Cybertronian middle east.

It seems like they’re going out of their way to ensure choosing a faction to root for and fanboy/girl over isn’t choosing good guys or bad guys, but choosing what aspect of holier than thou and disregard of others matches your interest.

Its a clever tactic for sales. The fanbase can have legitimate “_____ did nothing wrong” discussions without it being a silly meme. You can also have unashamed love for a villain of any side too, without it being a highly controversial character reinterpretation that people bitch you out for liking.

I’m waiting to see what they do with the beasts though. If they merge beasts and G1 without the Maximal Unicron shit from the last IDW then there’s going to be a lot of good will.

Its just a lot of buildup for future payoff. I can’t see any big shit going down for at least three more issues, and even then probably either Quake or Risen.

I’d like to see a colony which could bring some decent action in, but there’s no natural way to go to one yet without spending an issue with the main plot on ice.
