Really? I watched the first and maybe second episode. It was too slow and simple, so I dropped it.

The first 3 episodes are introductory episodes. It does pick up however.

Why are Carmen and the computer nerd shown as being about the same age in flashbacks but now she's like 20 and he's still 14?

Even during the flashbacks it was pretty obvious that Carmen was older than Player. What the real mystery here is how Carmen has aged pretty accurately for the timespan while Player only apparently gained 1/4th of an inch

I really wanted Chase to be more like Zenigata from Lupin III. ie; looks bumbling when matched up against the hero, but is actually hyper competent and only looks incompetent because the hero is just that good. Lupin III is the only place I've seen a character like that, and it's a shame because I fucking love that idea.

No, but even in that respect, he's always the one making the stupid mistakes, rather than Carmen making him look dumb.

Yeah, recently Zenigata has been even quicker on the uptake and even surprises Lupin with how quick he catches up to him.
Meanwhile Chase will always jump to the wrong conclusion and he often fails due to his own ego, rather than something Carmen did.
He probably should intern with Pops and learn a thing or two.

For a long time I actually thought Zenigata was a Spanish name and that he was Carmen Sandiego's nemesis from the old computer games. I was confused when Chase appeared and *wasn't* Zenigata.

Only complaint I have is I really would like it taken a bit more seriously, especially Chase. I know it's a kid's show and I think he's fun and cool and his co-worker is cute as hell but him being constantly called out as incompetent is kinda boring. Just like some of the others in the thread I'd prefer if he was a bit more like Zenigata and a legit "threat" sometimes.
