Of course, normies gotta normie

Watch Ant Man and the Wasp since the technology from that movie is integral to Endgame' plot

You just posted mine, though I'd probably put Endgame up there now.

What is this trend of pretending Endgame is a bad movie?

I'd throw Winter Soldier into Top Tier.
It has a really solid plot, pretty well done character relationships and dialogue and jokes that don't make me want to cringe with how juxtaposed they are.
Otherwise I completely agree.
Top movies are ones I can watch any time
Good are ones I'd easily put on on a weekend or during a meal
Meh are the ones that give some interesting information or have one or two stellar scenes
Shit are the ones that actually hurt me (though AoU has the after-party and farm scene so I can't be too upset about it (but it does do the Bruce Nat thing so I'm angry again))

People are getting obsessed with the minutiae of time travel and not realizing that that was just an excuse to have interesting contrasts of characters in past and present. The MCU as a whole is built on character moments, that's the core appeal. And that's what you get more of in Endgame than any other MCU film

I think it's mostly just disappointment from both overhype and the fact it's not quite as good as Infinity War, even though its the final one so you're expecting it to be better than the lead-up film

1. Endgame
2. Iron Man
3. Infinity War
4. Winter Soldier
5. Guardians2
really dug Endgame

on your left

A big part of Infinity War's strength, I think, is that it treats itself as sort of a weird penultimate entry point. Like, the writing is such that you can jump into that one and get a sense of what every single character's deal is and what their priorities are. The writing is very good at cluing in newcomers to the state of the universe at that point.
The double edged sword of Endgame is that some of its most emotional or subtle developments for characters rely on knowing where they came from and all the particulars of their backstory.
If you didn't watch Captain America 1 (which I wager most people don't remember), you won't get why they focus so much on Cap's relationship with Peggy because you didn't experience it yourself. Same with Iron Man 2/Civil War for Tony meeting his father in the flesh.
Endgame is less self-contained so its individual merit as a movie is weaker but it's probably the best way I can imagine of capping off this whole multi-movie saga

This is actually another one of those callbacks that only really has meaning if you watched Winter Soldier. You realize it symbolizes Sam catching up to Steve in terms of his strength of character and standing on equal footing as heroes and as Steve's chosen successor

I can agree with that. When I saw IW I hadn't seen Winter Soldier, Civil War, GotG2, Thor 2, Ironman 3, Nu spiderman, Antman anything and yet I honestly never felt lost or lacking important knowledge at any point. I just kinda jumped right in and had a good time with it and was surprised at how much I liked it

I watched some of those (all the Cap stuff being the most important I think) before Endgame so my knowledge was caught up and I understood the callbacks...but I didn't find the experience better for that, it just wasn't as bad as it would have been if I hadn't and I felt lost. Does that make sense? As in, I understand the emotional side of Stark meeting his dad and it's neat in it's way..but is it 5 minutes neat, do I care enough about it for it to be a big deal to me? Not really. It was more a film for the superfans I feel like, the ones who really care about all the characters and have watched every movie and were super invested, and I just wouldn't consider myself one of those super fans so it certainly fell a little flatter than IW did for me personally

Not saying it's a bad thing they did it this way, I think they kinda had to to give all these OG characters a proper sendoff, it just won't be as popular with the normie non superfan crowd I feel like

Winter Soldier
IW/Endgame
Iron Man
GOTG
Black Panther

Honorable mention for Avengers 1 and First Avenger which I like a lot but not as much as those above

>Has he ever been as beloved and highly recognized before this current iteration?
People probably didn't even know what his civilian name or superpowers were

>mostly just disappointment from both overhype
They can speak for themselves. It did pretty much everything I wanted it to do

Those two are the only correct answers, but I guess Endgame now too

>, it just won't be as popular with the normie non superfan crowd I feel like
I mean it got an A+ Cinemascore. Even Infinity War didn't get that, it was an A

Captain Marvel

what is this fascination with dudes just opening there mouths? What happened to a good old fashion smile?

Guardians 2 and Endgame have really strong final acts.

I love me some swashbuckling adventure. Winter Soldier was ok too.

They think it makes them look fun and wacky. I've had to work with these dudes. It's their mistaken belief it makes them easier to approach and more likable (especially to women) by appearing non-threatening.
They've based their personality on trying to be a nice guy, and in the process buried any and all hints of masculinity.

At least autists have some subjects they're interested in. These 'basedboys' will only parrot back what they think you want to hear, or what makes them look like a kind and understanding non-traditional man.

Attached: captain america.jpg (640x998, 219K)

I agree with you that having that context didn't really elevate the scenes as much as it let you experience the scene at all. But I think that's kind of intentional, the heist act, aside from its literal plot purpose, also serves as the catalyst for a ton of arcs of the main cast.
The way I see it, the Heist act is meant to carry the audience from the drama of the First act to the Battle Catharsis of the Third act. And in order for that to happen, you have to be re-sold on all the main actors of that fight, which are Tony, Steve, Thor and (surprisingly) Nebula. Put another way, the middle act and all those callbacks are meant to be the glue to sell you on the final battle emotionally, and if you don't get those callbacks, the final battle won't hit as hard when you see shit like Cap lifting Mjolnir or Thor super-charging Stark or Pepper flying in in her Rescue Armor.
The glue between the drama and the action are those callbacks and character moments, imo

More than that, it's a way of smiling sort of sarcastically, without having to look like they're actually trying to smile (like, say, as if they smiled with their teeth).
Its a move out of insecurity for how they appear to have an exaggerated expression that is obviously goofy looking

It had great character interactions and development, interesting shot composition and visuals, solid dialogue and good exploration on themes of fatherhood

Boomers and autistic millenials think that smiling makes them look boyish and not to be taken seriously, so they do this instead.

>it actually auto-corrected zoomer into boomer
God I fucking hate cellphones

Iron Man, Captain America, GotG. Ant-Man, Avengers 2 and Iron Man 2 were good, too. I'm not sure about Thor and Avengers.

The scene where it shows Starlord dancing and singing out loud with his headphones on and Nebula and Rhodey are watching him actually made me bust out in laughter.

honestly i feel like i should tie together iw and endgame, i like them both too much

Legitimately one of the best films of the last five years. Enjoy your shit.

Nah. Had some good moments, but was a pretty weak follow up.

>better villain
>more time to flesh out already established characters
>better soundtrack
>bittersweet ending as opposed to the hollywood ending in the first
I love both the films, but the second just pushed further.

Iron Man 1 and Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Have not seen Captain America yet. Spiderman Homecoming was good+++.

did pepper have rescue armor in iron man 3, i really only glossed over iron man 3 and only knew the bare minimum for it, like i thought the one in the rescue suit was tonys daughter all grown up somehow brought to the past to help him fight thanos

She didn't specifically have her own suit, but she did use one of Tony's in a scene. Early in Endgame Tony clues the audience into knowing that the mask their kid was wearing was a part of Pott's Rescue armor.

I mean it is
The actual plots of the movie are secondary to seeing these big personalities interact with each other and in interesting scenarios as well as just seeing the actor bring the character to life

visions on the poster but he was literally nowhere to be found

shits trash honestly, bring back the mandroid

That would be sext af seeing Scarlett walk around butt naked

I don't even know how you can contest this, the plots are super simple or downright dumb, it''s personality and character that drove the MCU

1. Iron Man
2. Captain America Winter Soldier
3. Guardians of the Galaxy
4. Infinity War
5. Avengers
6. Endgame

It's easier for epic edge 1000% on nuchan to make fun of people they will never meet in person while ignoring the fact that they're just as fucking retarded as the people they're making fun of. Have you actually met someone who unironically spouts epic twitteredditchan memes in real life? I'd rather hold a door open for the king of onions than live on the same planet as one of those meemers.

>let me express my opinion with this epic wojack
Into the fucking trash, you fucking faggot.

For me, it's the Guardians movies and Iron Man 3.

Blade 2 is clearly the superior Blade.

Endgame
Iron Man
Winter Soldier
Civil War
Avengers

The only part of MCU that can be conisdered an actual movie is Iron man. Other ones are just tv-tier trash for absolute degenerates who fell for "cinematic universe" meme. Literally CW but with marvel clowns. The moment capeshit dies will be one of the happiest days of my life.

Top 3:

>Winter Soldier
>Iron Man
>Endgame

Worst 3:

>Thor 2
>Black Panther
>Civil war

Iron Man 1, The Incredible Hulk and Civil War.

>The Winter Soldier
>Guardians Of The Galaxy
>Thor Ragnorak
>Avengers Endgame
>Iron Man

Guardians had more chemistry with each other and real moments than the Avengers ever did.

cringe

Not as cringe as your life, faggot

it may not be as cringe as my life, but still, cringe.

Well, at least you're decent enough to admit that your life is pathetic. Most capeshitters can't do even that. However you should understand that you'll have nothing left when mouse stops promoting capeshit.

and you? what makes you so special or better? you hate something simply because it's popular, apart from the fact that you post in the cesspool known as Yea Forums/channel

also, action movies are never going to end

Well, I'm better by default by not praising capeshit, not even talking about my understanding of art itself. And I don't hate capeshit for popularity, I despise it for killing cinema.
>action movies are never going to end
capeshit are not action movies though. There are no actual action. Just some shitty rendered cgi, lazy fighting with shaky directing and disgusting cuts every few seconds.

2cringe

The MCU is basically action movies so until they started getting heavy with them in IW/EG, the plot was basic action movie fare. The whole reason this entire thing works is the character moments and interaction and changes across the movies. That's how the idea that Marvel can adapt any comic property for the screen even came around because the type character doesn't matter as long as you can get the audience to truly care about them enough to follow them

I was talking about this with my flatmates, and the issue is post-Guardians, there isn't really a 'good' MCU movie.

Now hear me out, what Marvel Studios have achieved for linking ten years of blockbuster action films is fantastic. Credit where credit is due, but the heart and soul of the films has long left the MCU for quirky snips and fake emotional scenes.

I say fake because most emotional scenes don't make me feel emotional, as it's all guided with music and dialogue where it's like the movie is screaming "YOU SHOULD FEEL THIS WAY, FEEL IT!'" as opposed to it just happening for you.

The MCU have great action movies but they themselves, I don't feel are good movies. Most are very forgettable with some having great memorable scenes.

So for me, the best films would be some of the original ones:

Iron Man I
Thor
Captain America: The First Avenger

These three films had a lot of heart and soul in them, even though Cap's film had a very weak villain, I feel the acting of Chris Evans and the scenes of him were just so wholesome and got the atittude of Cap to a T.

Iron Man was brilliant and paved the way for future movies and there could have been a lot of call back to his time in the cave where he learns some humility, but that is never really carried on. People say Stark's hero arc is the best in the MCU but he doesn't have one? He is still sarcastic, quippy and just perfect at everything, he is the quintessential Mary-Sue of the MCU in later movies.

Thor and the whole of Asgard was just eye-candy and amazingly done as well as a ego-headed Son of Odin who thought he could do no wrong, he LEARNS humility he LEARNS how to be a leader and has so many poignant moments, this all changes later in the movies when Thor just becomes an absolute joke and a meme. All the reverence and aesthetic of an other-Worldly God is pretty much gone in later MCU films.

>>tbc

>the audience to truly care about them enough to follow them
To be honest, I haven't seen a single person who would give a single shit about mcu "heroes". You can't even distinguish one from another, they're all the same. Just different costumes and power sets. People watching it solely because mouse tricked into believing into scale of the shared universe.
The moment MCU ends - people will forgot any capeshit hero aside Spiderman, Wolverine, Batman and Superman.

Iron man
Infinity War
GotG
Doctor Strange
Winter Soldier

>>cont...

Guardians was also great originally as it was the first of its kind but then every MCU movie after it tried to be a bit of a carbon copy, everyone quipping, everyone joking and lots of silly laughs for next to no reason in my opinion?

Ant-Man was great and was saved by the writing of Edgar Wright, if only he stayed to do the whole thing. What could have been.

Black Panther was one of the best movies as again it had that aesthetic of a noble leader, it had reverance and unlike other MCU's, it didn't try to be as quippy as all hell 24/7. Killmonger being a fantastic villain certainly helped.

Captain Marvel was important for females, whether you agree with this or not, I don't know. But I work with kids and the amount of girls who were ever the moon about this girl super-hero, was just awesome. It reminded me of the time when the Superman movie came out and you saw all these boys with capes running around. It was just wholesome and actually had a nice twist in terms of the Skrulls in my opinion, had some genuine heartwarming moments.

Obviously Avengers, Civil War, Avengers 2, Infinity War and Endgame are all major blockbusters in their own right. I feel out of all of them Avengers stands out, Civil War does and IW/ENG as Thanos stands out. He was a fantastic villain with gravitas.

Though lastly I want to talk about my main boy, Spidey. Homecoming was a disaster to me but Michael Keaton was perfect, there was no scores, no movie shouting at you to feel a certain way, the intensity of the car ride with him driving Peter was just pure acting chops and you could just FEEL it. That scene alone will stay with me despite how disappointed I was in the movie as a whole.

I'll conclude in a last post, sorry for the tl;dr.

>>tbc.

All in all, the major issues is that there is NO real character arc for most of the cast, gravitas and reverance is swapped out for jokes and quips, Iron Man is always the hero who solves everything is perfect and saves the day constantly (even in another heroes movie i.e Spidey) and because of that there is no true emotional attachment to any of the characters. There was at the beginning when the MCU films first started but the heart and soul has been long lost.

One thing I will say, is during EG, I did get emotional at Cap. I thought that was very well done so at least there was that.

Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the MCU films and will continue to watch them, but they're good entertainment and a good way to kill a couple of hours the same way I liked watching fight scenes in like shonen anime for example but in my opinion, unfortunately that does not make them 'good' movies.

If you read, thanks for letting me rant, and wonder if anyone has any thoughts on my posts whether you agree or disagree?

>>end.

This, I can respect.

>I haven't seen a single people caring about MCU heroes so the rest of the world must not care about them
user...

Well, if you ever see one, spit in his faggot face for being corporate drone.

I should spit in your face for being such a snowflake

There is nothing special about not being braindead capeshitter, user. You're just surrounded by them. Probably because you're one of them though.
Also all capeshtters are betas so don't try to act tough.

Beta my ass, most people that watch movies are casuals that bang like monkeys

Casuals watch everything, they're not capeshitters. Capeshit just have the most promotion last days. That's what I've said from the start. People don't gvie a single shit about marvel "heroes" Mouse could promote universe of talking penises at this point and it would make money if advertised right. MCU and all characters from there will be forgotten the moment mouse stops filling it with marketing money.

Well,I suppose we'll have to way and see if they are going to be forgotten or not

It's all depend on mouse. And since it spend a lot of money and time to trick people into liking mcu, I think it will spend money on keeping it alive for a next few decades if possible. I just hope to witness the moment it ends. People unironically forgetting the whole movies the moment they left the cinema, only remembering poop jokes and that it had some "cool" action scenes.

Well thank you for that user!

Not to continue this rant, but just as thought. Think about the movie 'Logan'. That WAS not just a good movie, but a fucking great movie. It felt like it was made from the heart and it really showed that the people who made it really cared not only about the project, but the artistic integrity of it too.

Other big blockbusters you can compare the MCU too in terms of scale that it could've learned from but just didn't would be the LotR trilogy.

The scale of EG was great, but compare that to the battles of Helm's Deep and the battle of Gondor (as these are the only things I can really equate it too fairly). It was cool to watch everyone use their powers and kick ass, but there was no sense of emotion, it was all artificial. I just didn't care. In LotR you have Gandalf give this beautiful speech to Pippin as they fight and it's emotional, it can bring tears to your eyes and it shows that the fear of battle while still there, is overshadowed by the weight of Gandalf's words.

There was nothing like that in EG between ANY of the characters.

There were only two big whoop moments in EG for me and that was Thor's weapon (those who have seen it know) and the headbutt.

And yet at the same time it had some of the worst jokes and one liners in the whole MCU. Also the middle part of the movie was pretty weak and boring, while the beginning was basically a cringefest of low tier humor.
>great character interactions
Yeah, I realy liked when Rocket said that he's gonna take a shit on Quill's bed. Definitely the greatest character interaction in fiction. Or when Drax was calling Mantis ugly? Fucking GENIUS! I clapped and shouted KINO!
>interesting shot composition and visuals
You can say this about almost every other modern action movie. It's a pretty low bar to settle.
>solid dialogue
What dialogue? You mean all those funny things Rocket and Quill said to each other? Seriously though you're just counting minor things and adding neutral positive adjectives. Do you even like this movie? If you think that this is your favorite MemeCU film and that it was actually this good, then why you're describing it so discreetly? Maybe because you know that in reality it's not a very good movie and you actually liked only it's final act?
>Enjoy your shit
I'm not the one who liked this shit movie here, kiddo.
>I have nothing of value to add to this conversation, but let me nitpick to your random reaction image
Nice
