If each avenger only had enough pym particles for a round trip how did past nebula bring Thanos to the future?
If she used real nebula's particles to take her place, how did they shrink thanos' ship to navigate through the quantum realm?
How did they even know where they were going in the quantum realm without Tony's GPS tech?
Avengers: PlotHoles
Other urls found in this thread:
Steve took spare particles back from Pym's lab. They had Nebula's quantum GPS, so they could have replicated it for the ship.
>Nebula's quantum GPS
No, past Nebula had the GPS
Thanos should be dead. He died in the past
They took the GPS, but that doesn't explain the particles.
Steve was in a different group from Nebula, and had no way to get Young Nebula the new set of particles.
>that pic
Oh, bravo, OP.
Here's my two big questions
If everyone killed by the snap reappeared where they 'died', as shown by Spiderman being on Titan, does that mean everyone who was in a plane(or space) just appeared in the middle of the air, and died again anyway?
Banner was able to 'try' to bring back Black Widow, not just people who died in the snap. Why didn't he bring back Vision? His head was crushed, he wasn't killed by a stone.
another issue with the snap is: how the hell is society not going to collapse from 3.5 billion people materializing out of nowhere and suddenly needing sustenance when due to lack of labor global agriculture would have been scaled back immensely
>be a single mom
>turn to ash one day while your baby is crying
>come back and suddenly it’s five years later. Your baby’s dead body is rotting next to you
>everyone celebrates the avengers saving the world yayyy :-)
The day was still saved, ma’am. Sorry about your baby but I must go back in time for some prime pussy. AVENGERS OUT!
Reverse engineering? We don’t know how long past Nebula took her time until she came back.
Wait so what if some dude was standing in a construction zone, is he just gonna become the human wall assuming the building finished 5 years later
Considering the state the things we saw, I don't think anything was built over those 5 years.
>assuming that construction will still go on after some billion people got dusted
but no the unsnapping probably took care of that
What if someone was standing in a doorway and they come back from the snap but thedoor is closed now
the cars they were driving oddly enough
It’s not like people just poofed out of existence like the comics. They got dusted. So when they’re undusted, the remnant would just pull together and reform.
I like to think their reappearance involved some kind of magical safety precaution. Like, if a person was in a life-threatening spot at the moment of the snap, then they get teleported into the nearest safe location instead of reappearing at the exact spot where they vanished. But we didn't actually see how it happened, so who knows.
I hope Far From Home will address more how the whole thing looked like from the viewpoint of the general public and what kind of aftermath there was.
Even if there was a safety precaution, the snap would've still caused indirect casualties that can't be helped (scenarios like a plane crash due to pilot vanishing).
Nebula never used her Pym particles. To go back. Basically, the headgear on Nebula shorted her before she could use it. So Thanos used the tech she had and replicated it so he could bring his flagship to were all the meddling was.
the same way Hulk kept trying to fix Scott's age with one thing of pym particles
>Far From Home
That's the spiderman one yeah?
Think it's gonna address how Ned is now 5 years older than Peter? Because it seemed like, at that end scene, that Ned hadn't seen him in years.
>I like to think
Means headcanon.
Why didn't they use time travel already in IW?
No?
I'm tweeting this to Evans. He'll love it.
All the Spider-Man characters got dusted. If not, then Ned flunked a grade in high school for 5 years.
Bad Nebula steals Good Nebula's vial. Bad Nebula goes to present. Bad Nebula uses Cap_ Extra _Vial _A to send Cap_Extra_Vial_B to Thanos. Thanos uses Cap_Extra_Vial_B to come to present.
So how do they justify bringing back half of the life in the universe but still having perma death for people whose contracts expired?
Seven of Nebula used her alien Borg programing to enhance the plot device
They're not playing god. They're just trying to fix the mess of someone else playing god.
Either Tony or Bruce's snap, fixed it. Bruce was also trying to bring Widow back, but both he and Tony were smart enough to understand that it wasn't enough for people to be exactly where they were. Planets, solar systems and galaxies are constantly moving, so if they were brought back EXACTLY where they were, then there'd be a lot of people choking to death in space. They also needed to be safe, and without knowing the specifics of what they wished for, you can assume that neither made the horrible mistake of letting people appear in the void, or a mile in the sky, or over the open ocean or whatever.
They only brought back the people that got dusted in the snappening 1.0. People that died outside of that are gone for good.
but what I want to know is
If each time they go back and change something it splinters a new time line, then how is Old Man Cap there waiting for them if he should be in an alternate reality?
It's gonna take multiple viewings to be sure of anything. But the presumption is that he stayed in that alternate timeline until Peggy died. The full effects of what differed and what didn't, are unknown. Ripe for a comic mini-series, though.
Nat was the trade for the soul stone and Vision's mind was linked to the Mind one, they can't be revived because that involves losing two stones
How is this ok? What were they thinking?
Seriously though, future cap is no hero
The movie was way inconsistent with that considering the accidental shrinkage was one whole "trip" yet he keeps manipulating himself throughout the A1 heist.
I find Good vs Evil Nebula to be the biggest plot hole. Sure they swapped the orange plate, but her arm was fine and WM knew it was fucked. Also, why wasn't she in the room when Bruce was unsnapping? Did they think she was in the bathroom?
Other big plot holes:
-Strange brought everyone to the final battle except Carol
-No one contacted Carol or Wonderkanda Woman for time heist despite Carol being ripe for a GotG1 retread
-Carol personally carried the spaceship with Tony, Nebula, and Rocket in it across the universe in a reasonable amount of time with air running out.
Rocket wasnt in that ship
>Other big plot holes:
-PUT MORE CAPTAIN MARVEL IN THE MOVIE
Strange doesn't know who that is, or if he did then he also knew when she needed to show up
Carol and Ms. Bald are busy trying to make the world that exists now work
Rocket wasn't on the ship, and if they have Carol to carry them then they could stock up on the first inhabitable planet
If they stock up why does she still carry it down? She should have been escorting a fixed ship down.
The "Strange knew she didn't need to be there yet" argument is as ass-backwards as saying "because that's what the script says"
ugh yeah why didn't WM realize it was an evil Nebula doppelganger, I mean it was just so obvious
I’m guessing they replicated the pym particles?
stayed with Peggy till she died. Then came to the original timeline, which is why his shield is full and not broken, all the MCU shit never happens because Steve helps them prepare
In what way do you think stocking up on air, and possibly food and water, from a planet makes the ship fly faster?
I like how you ignored half of my strange comment. If he doesn't know that's when she is supposed to arrive (he does, he saw the future in Infinity War) then how is he supposed to know where she is in space to make her a portal?
What happened to Mjolnir?
If you feed the ship it has more calories to burn
Probably dropped it off in Asgard on the day Thor needed it
My point on the ship is it makes no sense that she hoofed it across the universe carrying a ship in no time flat. If it took time, they needed to restock and we've seen Carol use ships for long voyages normally from her movie. At that point they should have stopped and repaired it since there is still half the inhabited planets between Titan and Earth.
You presented two possibilities with Strange: 1) he doesn't know who she is, but that as you already pointed out he has seen the future and should know who and where she is. Which brings us to your second option 2) He knew when she needed to show up. Refer back to my comment, that at best is just Strange being uncharacteristically stupid. Actually, if no one tipped her off, how did she know to come back to Earth?
>strange knows how the final battle goes
>this is him being FUCKING STUPID REEEE PUT MORE CAROL IN THE MOVIE
sorry that ensuring the 1 successful outcome is "being uncharacteristically stupid"
you have no recourse, don't bother responding. I won't read it
They should have traded the soul stone back for her when they returned them.
Bullshit, he would have returned onto that very platform where they expected him to be.
I think Ned is just glad that Peter is alive after that fuckhuge battle
she did take the gps thing off of nebula when they were torturing her
>the current year in MCU is 2023, half the world population has aged 5 years...everyone before the snap that comes back is the same age
This is the comic book shit I like
I like to think Steve actually caused all of those events, and maybe even increased the number of casualties, and used the excuse of "I'm maintaining the time stream" to get away with it. I can see Steve being the kind of guy to help fly a plane into the White House.
Even better, put it on Reddit.
They replicated the tech. Rocket specifically says "You're a genius by Earth standards" at one point in the movie hinting that if pushed in the right direction someone from space could figure that shit out just as easily
This. Him not returning means he waited up until that point where you see him on the bench. Which means he could've stopped events, like infinity war and the "snap," but chose not to.
Natasha secret genes I her blood revived her immediately, that's why the gauntlet didn't work
Please do...and post the reaction
Meanwhile on Siberia...
Well, now that you mention it Nebula killed her fucking old self how the fucking fuck she didn't dissappeared and the rest of the universe?
Branching timelines. If you pluck a stone from one point in time it branches up the timelines, if you put it back, then the branch dies out. Anything you took from the branch to the main timeline gets to stay in that timeline. That's why future Nebula didn't die and why everything regarding resolving IW in Endgame still happened.
I'm looking for superhero Comics that are 100% without of anything related to the Marvel Slut, without of anything from the Disney whore and nothing from Avengers
What do you recommend?
Gee, it's almost like there's another company that's pretty well known that isn't marvel
that other company is DC Comics
by the way all the MCU is pure shit
They need to retcon that ending ASAP.
user...
This was made clear by Hulk explaining how Pym particle time travel is not Back to the Future time travel. When you travel to the past, that past becomes your present/future, and you can not change your past/former present by doing things in your current present/the future. New timelines are created if you remove or change things from your original timeline, such as stopping 9/11.
A better way to put it would be that their changes create alternative timelines but they can still return to their original timeline, like in DBZ.
After they returned the stones and mjolnir most of the universes will have fixed themselves and be basically the same- there's still a universe where Loki bailed with the Tesseract and a universe where Nebula is dead, but they'll probably be fine. Maybe.
>Sure they swapped the orange plate, but her arm was fine and WM knew it was fucked.
she had the white suit on and didn't take it off till he left the room
The magical visual aid that the Ancient One used with Hulk points to those branches dying (the split greyed out) once the stones are put back in place, so I think it's more likely that those events died out once Steve put things back. Loki may have escaped but his tesseract was still in the same time. I don't know if that allows him to be a free man or if that makes his escape a branch that got undone.
>I'm looking for superhero Comics that are 100% without of anything related to the Marvel Slut,
Would anyone who was 13 -17 during the snap be 18- 22 legally?
Wait wouldn't Peter be 5 years younger than ned now?
>I'M TOO DUMB TO UNDERSTAND CAPESHIT GUISE. PLZ EXPLAIN.
That was another issue with Dumb Young Spider-Boy's cast, did they all get ghosted I guess? Only way he can keep them all at the same age. Convenient.
It might be a completely different branch but desu it doesn't matter that much. The important thing was that the time stone got back to the Ancient One so that Dromammu didn't immediately assfuck the universe, and possibly that no universe was left without a stone which would cause it to... unravel, maybe? idk. So long as the stones are in the right timeline shit should work itself out.
What if the trailer is showing us something different and what they really did was edit the FFH cast to look 5 years younger than they really are?
My guess is the entire spidey cast got dusted
Hawkeye's family had an 80% snap fatality rate. Pretty sure more than 50% of the major characters died in general. The death distribution is entirely plot-based and you just kind of have to roll with it.
thinking about it why didn't Hulk and Tony had a vision of their own after each snap like Thanos did?
It was kind of slow and a different movie than I expected. Not bad, but not amazing either. It was more of a send-off movie than anything.
Because he already knew how things were going to turn out if he doesn't interfere. They "won" and "fixed" things outside of a few deaths.
If he starts meddling then everything is a gamble again without him knowing if it will be okay.
Weren' all the Asgardians killed before the snap?
Because IW was a better written movie
Idk, maybe you only get vision if you kill with the snap and Tony died fairly quickly after
Yeah, if science fiction time travel has taught me anything its that 99% of the time if you time travel and try to "prepare" for the bad thing, you're just gonna cause a lot of stupid unforeseen shit that is worse on top of losing most of your "I know the future" advantage. Cap was likely betting on a "known" future vs trying to change things and turning everything into a total gamble.
who would they have seen?
I can see Tony seeing his father
The vision seems connected to the soul stone, which they were not
The kid at Tony's funeral is the kid from IM3. All of Spidey's classmates were dusted. Alternate timeline past Nebula wouldn't affect main timeline Nebula (baby thanos argument). Thor was fat and out of shape (relative to IW).
Between the Time, Space and Reality stones, they can hand wave a lot of it away by explaining that the Counter-Click also repaired everything and smoothed it over.
If removing even one stone from the universe fucks everything up, why Thanos destroying all of them did nothing?
Yet to be explained. Either Thanos also used the stones power to allow the universe to continue to survive before destroying them, or the emphasis that they still exist as atoms implies they "exist" so the universe won't collapse
The "forces of darkness" just haven't shown up yet
Or somebody took the stones from other timelines that are now doomed and are hording them in secret in the main timeline to keep it going
>How did they even know where they were going in the quantum realm without Tony's GPS tech?
Well, the GPS works as a synchronizer that also locked their return time as the same. So we have no idea how much time past-Nebula spent in 2014. Could have replicated that in that time, but not the particles because they're a goddamn wonder.
It doesn't "fuck everything up" immediately. The AO just meant that Doctor Strange movie hadn't happened yet, and without the Time Stone they'd be swallowed by Dormammu. Banner was basically asking them to risk a sure-thing prophecy of the future she refused to divulge (and thus accidentally prevent) for the sake of a CHANCE at a further future.
So, Dormammu can now come back and swallow Earth unopposed, since there are no stones left?
He can't he made a deal with Strange
Someone from this universe needs to cast the Spell that unlocks the gate for him,the last one that did it (Kaecilius and his crowd) are dead/trapped in the dark dimension,so it will be a little complicated for him to come back
This was bugging me. We had this existential returning to high school moment for peter when half his classmates went through the same thing. Most of them are graduated at this point. Ned and friends are all still the same age.
I'm sure Doctor Strange 2 will explore this at least to some extent. The Eye of Agamotto is one of his most important tools, and now it's gone.
Why didnt Thor just brifrosted to Tony?
Why didnt they just sent to a single time, bifrosted to all the stones and get them all?
Why didnt Thor bifrosted Thanos and his army?
Why didnt Thor use the gauntlet?
Why did they have to use ships when Thor has bifrost?
Whydidnt Thor use the bifrost, but dodge it last minute ala Shazam to kill his enemies?
yeah it kind of felt like last jedi to me. was all over the place and it felt like it had no substance because it was just tying up all the loose ends so that all the characters can be done
Bi frost only works for the nine realms
Okay, did present Gamora still dies after the restore snap ? if it does, did the restore snap killing past Gamora ?
Also where the fuck is past Gamora after the restore snap ???????
I know that it's a joke (I think? Some people might take it seriously), but it was perfectly explained in the movie, even if Steve did some things to prevent all the horrible shit that happened in the past, it wouldn't change the future, it would just branch out into an alternate timeline.
They were on earth, werent they?
I was about to argue but I realize that they've never showed any evidences to contradict that.
Gamora is dead. They hard established with that line from Banner that Soul Stone sacrifices are staying dead. 2014 Gamora is still out there though, I'm pretty sure Quill was talking about tracking her down with the Guardians.
>society just collapses after 5 years of half the world disappearing
>3.5 billion people instantly coming back is supposed to make it better
Bullshit.
Hulk did whisper "Everybody comes home" or something like that when doing the gauntlet, so at least there was *some* implication he was wishing to save everyone.
Heimindal and Asgard are gone, there's no bi to frost.
Watch ragnarok. And infinity war I guess.
youtube.com
Thor literally bifrosts into scene
Was it half the universe at random that got snapped or half of each planet at random?
Thor does a very bifrost like entrance in IW though.
Here are my two theories:
1. He didn't do anything big to keep the alternate timeline as close to the original timeline as possible and hoped that it would be close enough to not diverge too far away from the original one so he could meet with the team one last time and pass the mantle to the original timeline Sam.
If he say, saved Bucky earlier then the alternate timeline branch would separate far away from the original timeline and a lot of things will change.
2. He lived his full live as Peggy's husband in an alternate timeline. Then jumped back to the original timeline a few days earlier (so he doesn't reappear on the time machine) just so he could surprise the team.
Not sure how he got a brand new shield though, unless he just stole one from another alternate timeline to give one to Sam.
Maybe you should rewatch IW yourself. Thor can summon Bifrost with Stormbreaker now.
Yeah. There would have to be massive reorganization of all records on everyone ever that pertained to your age being a requirement for anything.
At the very least every single form you fill out from now on has a checkbox for it you were a victim of Thanos.
Considering his motive, it should be the latter. Could even be each species.
Y'all really don't think that, given a sample of Pym particles, no one in Thanos's army could replicate them?
Jesus Christ, just because Tony couldn't make more doesn't mean it's impossible.
>Not sure how he got a brand new shield though,
I doubt we'll ever find out, but he did live in the past with knowing both Howard Stark and that vibranium is in Wakanda. For all we know Cap had mad fucking black book spy adventures when Peggy needed some secret help with SHIELD shit and he/she ended up getting another shield made.
If scott only aged 5 hours, then why did mrs Pym age 20 years?
Things in the present/original timeline doesn't get changed when shit gets changed in the past, instead they branch out into an alternate timeline.
It's more likely that Steve lived out his live as Peggy's husband in the past (which branched into an alternate timeline) then after she died, he jumped back to the original timeline, just way earlier than the exact time he went back to surprise the team.
Unless someone from Marvel says otherwise or future movies showing a picture of Steve together with Peggy existing in the original timeline (thus implying the original timeline got changed by Cap marrying Peggy), this is what most likely happened.
She didn't bring her make up bag
Or yknow, T'Challa got him a new one made just before he returned to the past.
Past a certain point you have to accept that this isn't that kind of movie and you're not supposed to think very hard about that. Questioning the rules of the time travel is one thing because it's the crux of the plot, but if you're poking holes in the socioeconomic-political implications you're gonna have a bad time. If you ever saw Kingsman, I was really interested in how the sequel would play out: nearly all of the world's political and economic leaders are suddenly dead and everybody else is recovering from going on a bloodthirsty rampage where they likely killed or maimed their loved ones; that would make for a really interesting backdrop for a spy thriller. Does the sequel do anything with that context? Nope, not really, it's just a dumb action-comedy.
It's not like it's a consistent different time flow. Scott and Hank's time in Quantum Realm in Ant-man 1 and 2 last about the same as the outside.
Quantum Realm fucks with you multiple ways. Tony himself states this that Scott got lucky. We later see that Scott gets aged and then deaged up when he goes again.
Janet got lucky too except in her case she managed to age in real time vs 5 hours for Scott.
Why didn't they just stick old Steve in the QR and pull him out younger?
Why did nobody call Thor the God of Flubber???
And what happens then? He's already live out his life. Even if he's physically young again, his mind isn't. He's done with superheroing and wants to retire.
u dumb nigga
Then he can volunteer fresh prime genetic samples of himself so that they can hopefully reverse engineer the SSS again, like Peggy said in the first Cap movie which never went anywhere after she said it'd take years to accomplish.
If Captain stayed in the past and showed up in the present, how is past Gamora staying in the future not destroying the timeline?
Well, if he hasn't already done that ever since he got thawed out, he probably don't want to? The time now is different from when he's from, much more people more likely to misuse it.
For all we know, she is. Stay tuned for Guardians of the Galaxy vol.3, True Believers!
What about when Thanos destroyed the stones
Everything that could have branched off from Thanos' fleet going to the present has no effect on the timeline, evidenced by the fact that Nebula killed her past self and didn't get screwed by it.
Why do audiences insist that characters necessarily need happy endings? This shit is exactly why we'll never get a good Daredevil movie.
But Steve went to the same past and stayed there, showing up in the future.
Because time paradoxes are bullshit.
And he clearly had no effect on the timeline. New York still happened, Hydra still happened, Ultron still happened, etc. All that happened regarding Steve was he got old.
The future is now her present
user...that means that past is connect to the current present of the MCU. That’s means something left in the past will be present in the current present of the MCU. By that logic the absence of something results in its absence from the current MCU (besides the stones). Steve is in a past without Gamora (or thanos and his army I guess) since she is in the current present. How can Steve be in the present and not have gamora’s absence destroy the current timeline. She’s literally not there.
>How can Steve be in the present and not have gamora’s absence destroy the current timeline.
The answer to your question is the same answer to how Nebula being dead in the past doesn't do jack or shit to her in the future.
And that answer is?
Again, everything that could have branched off has no effect on the timeline. This is due to the fact that when the stones are returned to their place in history the timeline kills off its branches. Steve was in the past when he restored the stones, and stayed there. There were no other branches anymore, just the one timeline and Steve choosing to stay in that past.
>Again, everything that could have branched off has no effect on the timeline.
Steve being in the past would have to create a branch to preserve the present. Every piece of food he eats changes reality. It’s one less piece of bread for someone.
No the stones being returned doesn’t kill a branch, it just stops it from being formed. Thanos and his gang not being there aren’t stones so they would still be gone in the timeline
Why would it? The stones are back in their rightful place in time.
Because the past is being changed by having Steve be there. How can Gramora be gone from the timeline not result in any affect in the present but Steve staying in the past does affect the present. Also remember the infinity stones being there stabilizes their timeline. They don’t fix changes (if they did Steve would be booted out) so Gramora is still not in the past anymore.
Only the stones being removed would make it an alternate timeline otherwise the Avengers would have fucked over so many timelines with the stuff they did.
They weren't, they were thinking about a romantic ending with Peggy but if you think about it it's fucked up.
Then how do you explain Thanos getting dusted or 2012 Loki stealing the Tesseract not affecting the main timeline?
After Steve returned the stones, he traveled to a point earlier than when the stone-stealing events happened, so he would still be on the original timeline. If his actions doesn't change anything, like not telling people about 9/11 or something, then he got to the 2020's of his original timeline the hard way.
Ancient One only talked about the removal of the stones, but she didn't seem aware of future events, she wasn't even aware of Doctor Strange giving the Time Stone to Thanos. Didn't all the time alterations like Loki stealing the Tesseract and all that happen after Ancient One gave the Time Stone to Bruce?
why didn't they go back to infinity war, slice off Thano's arm and use those stones?
When past nebula got to the Avengers HQ she located Thanos's ship and used the module to bring Thanos through. Maybe the console works different than the wrist bands and doesn't use pym particles, or it has as much as it needs already to bring whatever through. We don't see what she does or how she does it or how she even knows how to work the thing, but she does.
How did they even breathe on other planets anyway?
Anyone who died with a stone can't be rezzed without removing the stones. That's why they couldn't bring vision back since they would have to bring him back with the mind stone, which they needed for the glove. Everyone who was snapped in a vehicle was probably brought back somewhere safe. We don't know what goes on in someone's mind when they have the glove on, we don't know if they go to that realm where Thanos was or how much time they have to stipulate the conditions of their wish. It might look like an instant to us, but it might not be that way for the one who weilds the stones.
For them to time travel, they need to go to the Quantum Realm. And for them to shrink into it, they need Pym Particles.
I'm not even sure what's the point of the machine since Stark's bands seem to be able to navigate the QR on their own (when Cap and Stark went back to 1970).
runaways
Why are you surprised? As showed in GotG, most planets in the MCU have a breathable atmosphere, and most species in the universe breathe the same kind of air.
>I'm not even sure what's the point of the machine since Stark's bands seem to be able to navigate the QR on their own (when Cap and Stark went back to 1970).
Return point. Else they get stuck in the past.
I’ve they had to ration Pym particles at the beginning then how was Ant-man able to use his powers? Did he have more on hand?
Janet was in there a whole lot longer too.
Can't they use the bands to navigate into the future? Time travel is time travel.
So it makes it okay that he gets to live through and watch these events because he got to fuck some chick he barely knew during WW2?
>Steve's legacy is that he's a niece fucker who let 9/11 happen
Really odd way to go out.
>I like to think
Means you're pulling shit out of your ass in order to justify this cluster fuck
>DC
Fucking yuck
Cause they got more Pym Particles from Cap in the 70's, remember?
Else they'll end up in another timeline.
Dunno if this one has been mentioned but:
In the Doctor Strange movie:
Sorceror Supreme: "When I look into the future, I can only ever look this far and not any farther, since this is where I die."
In Infinity War:
Doctor Strange: "I can't see beyond what happens *dies*"
Meanwhile, in Endgame:
Sorceror Supreme: "Strange did what?! But that cannot be right, after I die he becomes the best Sorceror Surpreme ever!"
My first thought while watching that scene: "Uhhh, how do you know what happens after you die?"
Yes they did, but Ant-Man could still use his powers in New York before that. Did he have more particles than the rest?
FUCKKKK
Normal shrinking use much, much less Pym Particles than Quantum shrinking? It's the gap between ant size (maybe 1 mm or 1x10^-3 m) and Planck length (1x10^-35 m). That's 32 zeros of difference.
What grade are ned and spiderman in? How the fuck did they not graduate already?
Wouldn’t it made have more sense for Tony to bring Scott with him to the 70s than Steve?
Steve would be a fish out of water in the 70s plus Scott could have gotten the Pym particles and Tesseract out way easier given his powers.
Because in the 14 whatever million scenarios he sees, he doesn't stay dead, he comes back to life in some of them (only to be killed again by thanos) and the other ones he stays dead so he can't see past those ones.
Liz was a senior and said to be two years older than Peter, so Peter and Ned were sophomores.
All life was revied. Which means farms and agriculture was restored again.
I was waiting for them to use the machine to turn back Thor to his prime but it never came, I thought it was obvious why would they introduce that just to show the Lang stuff
Really, if you just keep in mind the events of Infinity War, and them wanting to time travel to collect all the infinity stones, wouldn't that have been the perfect time to get all the stones in one trip?
>senior and said to be two years older than Peter
Shouldn't that make them juniors?
She was pretty aware of Strange becoming Sorcerer Supreme in fact she was so aware she literally said the amount of years
Who is Wonderkanda Woman supposed to be? Okoye came back at the end to stab that one dude in the thorax.
As that accounting for their 5 Y E A R T I M E S K I P
Why didn't Antman just fly up Thanos's asshole and enlarge inside of him?
If Nebula killed her past self, why is she alive? If taking stones and not returning them to their proper places makes dangerous rifts what happened to caps timeline? He's no longer around to be unfrozen with the cube. His whole timeline is fucked because no modern day cap
Too risky, Thanos was already on the move
No, it shouldn't. Are you pretending to be a moron for (You)s?
And this is why IW will reign supreme and EG will be among the rest.
Kinda mad we had to deal with Boomer Thor through the whole movie. I expected they use the quantum realm to de-age him to his hot self.
No? From what I know, American high schools have 3 years: junior, sophomore and senior. If Liz is a senior, Peter, who is two years younger, should be a junior. Right?
They go Freshman > Sophomore > Junior > Senior
>From what I know, American high schools have 3 years
Well you got it wrong. It's:
Freshman
Then Sophomore
Then Junior
Then Senior
1. Stones destroyed
2. Alternate timelines made
3. Future Nebula (prime) goes back
4. Prime goes off the prime line, and enters secondary line with stones
5. Past Nebula (secondary) gets involved
6. Both prime and secondary leave secondary line and enter prime line
7. Prime kills secondary
8. Prime cap goes to secondary line
9. Prime cap gives back stones, causing the prime and secondary lines to fuse and correct itself past prime cap disappears and is replaced by future prime cap that went back
10. Future prime cap lives out life in prime line till he catches up
It's Japan that has 3 years of high school.
Ah ok. I was a moron then.
weak pic. you should have gone for the obvious choice ?
what countries is this true for?
Why was Loki in jail in Thor 2 timeline if he escaped in 2012?
they got fucked by a thanos without stones, and you think they can just "cut his arm off" with a thanos with 5 stones
>but her arm was fine and WM knew it was fucked.
She kept the white suit on.
Alternate timeline differences.
When the stones were destroyed, it created a timeline where they exist.
When the stones switch from one timeline to another, it creates even more timelines.
When you return a stone to the timeline, it doesn't "erase" the timeline, but causes it to "fuse" with the prime timeline, with things being shuffled around.
A Thanos without stones was already beating them
In fact the only time they had an easy time against him was after he snapped twice and badly weakening himself after the second go-round.
So Loki is alive in an alternate reality. Possibly one where Thanos and his army have time traveled to the future
They explicitly say he "overshot his return".
It means he went back to the 70's to return the cube, lived a life there, then came back as an old man.
How did the combination of Thor , Scarlet Witch , Captain Marvel , and Dr. Strange not end Thanos within a minute?
So are Loki and the asguardians from Thanos ship alive? A lot of people turned up for the final battle. If they bought back just the snapped then the half that were dusted should have only come back or did every single asguardian revive meaning Loki decided to run?
Only people who were snapped came back, those who died other ways are dead
I don't even know where those asgardian warriors came from. Most of the fight-capable ones were wasted in Ragnarok already, the rest seemed to be civilians. Thanos then killed half of them at the beginning of IW (probably, I don't remember any confirmation but it's his m.o.), half of the remnant then got dusted at the end.
The fact that the Ancient believes Strange will be a great sorcerer doesn't mean she knows that for a fact after seeing it
Did Disney Marvel want alt-white ticketbux? Why have they made steve literally worse than Hitler?
Speak English and not buzzwords, faggot
I feel it leaves the door open for Chris Evans to return if ever wanted to.
Who's to say he didn't get tempted to say, save the Starks or save Bucky before he got Hydra'd? What if the timeline where he married Peggy was the one where he prevented a lot of bad thing that he knew would happen?
And if he did you won't see the after effect of it shown in the main timeline anyway.
Also, how did Evans agree to this?
But no new timelines are created once he returns the stones. So Cap lay low for 50 years (he went back to the 70s right?) and came to give Sam the shield right? Two caps can exist in the same line as long as all stones are returned.
The directors said Valkyre and korg were off world with a small group scouting for a planet to live on. Thanos killed that ENTIRE ship, he blew it up so the scouting party was all that's left then they were dusted so how did several dozen asgardians show up to battle? If they were bought back Loki was too and he ran.
The worse thing is when a loved one died by causes that were not the stones just seconds before and after Thanos' snap
>But no new timelines are created once he returns the stones.
Not really, there are at least 2 new ones:
1. Where Loki escaped with the Teseract post New York Invasion, also this timeline's Cap know about Bucky way earlier than he should thanks to original timeline Cap, and Hydra thinks Cap works for them so they might slip up and reveal themselves to this timeline's Cap making him go full angry boomer
2. Where Thanos and his entire army disappeared
Extras, where the changes might be too minor:
3. Where Hank had his Pym particles stolen making him more paranoid than normal
4. Where Steve married Peggy in secret and presumably had baby super soldiers
The only one who got a “happy” ending is Steve.
Everyone else is still super fucked.
Thor is fat, his mom, brother, best friends, home, and half his people are sill dead
Banners arm is fucked and Natasha is dead
Clint is still a mass murderer
Natasha committed suicide to save everyone
Scott missed five years of his daughters life
Sam and Bucky no longer have their best friend
Vision is dead
Gamora is dead and theres a person there who looks like her but isnt her
Tony is dead, his daughter will grow up without her father, Pepper without her husband
Yeah
Are you seriously telling me SHIELD/HYDRA didn’t pick up that Peggy married a guy who suspiciously looks like Captain America?
He let fucking 9/11 happen
Thanos spinning his sword was his thanoscopter
I wish tony lived through the snap, barely saved by his suit, but forever disabled and unable to be the iron man he used to be. I guess he'd just make cameos and be a mentor at that point.
Plus he has a family so there's no immediate need for him to fashion himself some tech to give himself full iron man functionality (though he could obviously do it)
Why didn't the soul stone give Tony a second life like it did Thanos?
I guess it's not a plot hole but an extreme convenience, the fact that Thanos million missiles and a fucking iono NUKE didn't just instantly kill everyone at Avengers HQ
It doesn't fuck up the universe. The time stone was needed for doctor strange to win his movie and hulk stealing it would mean that the bad guy in doctor strange would destroy earth.
>Normal guy gets snapped
>Comes back 5 years later to see their significant other in a new relationship (maybe even with children) with someone else, their only surviving family member killed themselves out of despair and grief, their dog died because no one found and took care of it and their house and all other possessions was taken by someone else since no one was left to claim the them
>Birth of a new villain who hates the Avengers a la Zemo
Why didn’t the gang just time travel back to the Battle of Wakanda? All the stones were present there.
Thanos barely survived fighting the Avengers then. He’d have no chance against two identical teams. Especially if they paged Captain Marvel and told her to come along.
Seriously, that would be great motivation for a Spidey villain.
Just like how they tied Vulture to Avengers 1.
Thats what I was originally expecting too, but I think thematically Tony not dying a hero would be too easy.
I think had they really tried he could’ve survived, he was still barely making it until Pepper told him it was okay to rest.
THEN he peaced out.
In that instance he was just too overwhelmed.
But they still had the infinity stones so it’s not like they could’ve healed him somehow.
Killing Tony just really closes the book on things and that’s alot of what this film was—a book end.
>Thanos barely survived fighting the Avengers then.
Too dangerous and no he was kicking their asses for the most part
Tony dying fit his character arc perfectly. In Iron Man 1, Ho Yinsen’s last words to him was to not live a wasted life.
I just wish the 5 year timeskip and the daughter was out of the equation. Just have him fuck Pepper before the time heist mission so she can get pregnant in the epilogue.
>thread literally starts by saying Steve let 9-11 happen
If you think this is what a happy ending looks like for Steve, you don't know his character. But I won't blame you though. The Russos didn't either. They shit on his character the most.
>Hulk
>Thor
>Spider-Man
These whole movies were about shitting on the characters because some faggot in Hollywood thought he could do them better
I didn't say the rest didn't get shit on. I said Steve is the one who got jobbed the hardest in this movie.
The Russos completed their quest to make him "interesting" I guess.
I dont get why tony needed to snap in the first place. The combined super force was fucking up thanos' army. Why did he need to snap?
Thats only if you see it as a closed loop but im looking it as dragon ball z time travel rules
Was already dying
Stones were overloading the suit
Snapping was faster and more effective
Thematic reasons
Agree to both those comments. But in my fanboyish desperate desire to want him to survive, that wass the only sensible, non plot hole nit picking option in my mind
That's the one nitpicking option. should have just kept the other stones in reserve and go superpowered with the power stone channeled into his suitand nuke all his shit including thanos himself
but definitely >thematic reasons
>I guess it's not a plot hole but an extreme convenience
Sums up the entire film
the ancient one can see the future up to the point of her death in Doctor Strange
Understandable, Im not an iron man fan and pretty much hated iron man until i saw this conclusion in endgame.
I’m a cap fan, so i feel your pain
Not exactly a plot, hole, but...what the fuck does society look like now? Half the population comes back to find partners who moved on, kids who aged 5 years without them, a completely different economy and government...isn’t it still going to be chaos? Is everyone on earth just gonna have PTSD now?
>I want everyone that was wiped from existence by Thanos to be returned to life safely.
>*snap*
If cap went back to the past and stayed there then what did it look like from his perspective? Who unbrainwashed Bucky, who was the main player and reason for civil war?
I understand that they didn't want to have a post-credits scene as to not take away from the cast sequence, but would it have been that hard to set up the events of Far From Home with something? It's the next movie, taking place very soon after Endgame, so maybe have a small scene with Gyllenhaal or something about Peter's school having that field trip like a poster.
The movie doesn't set up much in terms of the next threat, but I guess they wanted it to end on a good note.
Avengers 1 and Age of Ultron's after credits scene were setting up Thanos so I guess they didn't have a new big overarching threat determined yet.
Who is his niece and how?
>implying anyone would have taken Cap seriously if he tried to warn them
Cap is a fucking superhero. He doesn't need to warn shit, he can go and stop it himself.
Keep in mind that while the universe still slun around after the snap, everyone left behind (based on what Carol, Rocket, and Bebula said) was just as bad off as Earth. That means lots of people in a sort of feuge or dazed state, unable to cope with that loss. We saw a bit of that with Cap trying to be a grief councilor. Now just multiply that by the trillions left behind across millions of planets.
That's why past Thanos wanted to upgrade from cosmic balance to cosmic destruction and reconstruction: from his point of view, the survivors couldn't appreciate the boon he did, so better to just start over and make a form of life that can appreciate balance.
Have they established 9-11 and other tragedies in the MCU?
>3. Where Hank had his Pym particles stolen making him more paranoid than normal
Could be since Stark and Pym were working the same base he built up a conspiracy that Howard stole them
>strange solos thanos with IG
>loses because its the fucking IG
>round 2
>thanos doesnt have IG
>strange holds back a pot of water and proceeds to do nothing after
It has not been established. But America is at war with Afghani terrorist forces in IM1, so I would assume it happened.
NEW PLOTHOLE: The snap randomly got rid of half of the population. There is no way that didn’t lead to loads of suicides. Many people who perished in the snap are now likely to return to their loved ones being dead. Also, if the snap got parents of young children, many kids would have died from neglect. Even if the government goes to check on every single family, there’s no way all kids left alone survived.
They got better.
But seriously even baseline Asgardians are hard to kill.
because PLOT
>have the time stone
>don’t use that for most of the time travel and save the Pym Particles for your trip back after putting it back
Stop posting this stupid shit. Half of all creatures means half of all creatures. That's it. End of story. You people are fucking obnoxious.
>grand total of two people in the known universe who know how to use it
>one of them is dusted
>one of them is fucking Thanos, who himself only knew how because of the mind stone
what's wrong with you people who can't follow a story designed to be comprehensible to ten year olds?
>grand total of two people in the known universe who know how to use it
>Past Nebula knows how to manage the time machine to bring Thanos's ship
now, that's a BIG plothole retard
But then Tony wouldn't have gotten that closure with his Dad user, thus planting the biggest death flag in the movie.
>Movie explicitly shows that Past Nebula and Nebula Prime care on the same WiFi network and are of one mind
>still trying to make retarded "gotcha" posts for (you)s.
You are embarrassing. There is so much about you that is totally unnecessary.
>Movie explicitly shows that Past Nebula and Nebula Prime care on the same WiFi network and are of one mind
so Present Nebula knows how to manage the time machine? fucking megatard
also some people officially snapped in the running car and flying helicopter
yes
Half were killed by Thanos and company.
Half again were snapped and then unsnapped.
I think he lived with her until either her dementia began (which could have been induced to prevent any secrets) or until they unthawed icecube cap.
There could be an entire movie of Cap and Peggy, but I might prefer Cap and Loki: Space and Time Travel Shenanigans.
After 300 years the super soldier serum finally let's him age and then he goes back to the lake.
I figure he would lose Mjolnir in the Thor 2 merging realities nonsense.
Because he's lived his life.
Saved the planet a handful of times and even the universe once.
He deserves his rest and peace.
Using 'Steve should've stopped 9/11' is a shitty and paltry argument that only looks at Cap's situation and decision in the most shallow and narrow-minded manner possible and is not well thought out as there are far more factors that go into time travel changing and it's effects
>All life was revied
they tried to illustrate non human life returning when antman stared out the window at birds chirping around a tree outside. i really hated this because antman would be the least phased by non human life returning since he was in the quantum zone and didnt have to deal with it
Time Travel to stark and strange on spaceship heading to titan. Bring strange to present. Use time stone to undo damage to thanos gauntlet. Just like thanos did to vision in infinity war. Return strange. Snap everyone back. Adam Warlock shows up and becmes the new big bad. Movie has good action. Gamora comes back life thanks to turn of heart or complication via warlock.
Why didn't any of the heroes use the gauntlet during the battle instead of rushing to deliver the stones back to the past? They didn't even end up doing that until after the battle anyways. They could've used it to shoot energy beams at Thanos or turn his weapon into bubbles, etc.
I just wonder whether or not people who DIED as a result of the snapture (as opposed to just being dusted), were they revived? I mean there HAD to be situations where unmanned vehicles went all Paris on crowds (clearly not on Xandar or Knowhere, since T had wrecked their shit), they weren't part of "the missing" so did THEIR status change? The plot just seemed to gloss over this entirely.
no average shmuck can use the stones
Thor should had been able to wield one at least, then strange came back and could had used the time stone
Better, why didn't they first take more pym particles from the past?
Why didn't they just use the Time Stone?
>Not realizing plot holes and ooc is bad!
Go away, retard.
OK It might have only been me but, was anyone else put off by Cap going back to marry the lady from his first movie AFTER SMASHING HER DAUGHTER in his later movie? Did he fuck his daughter? His surrogate daughter? Does he have a MILF fetish and does he think of the daughter while smashing the mother?
niece
he's the creepy uncle
>cap went back and stopped more planes from crashing
this
there's already a bunch of fan art of him kissing her as a kid
oh ho? Show me
I-I need to see it, user
>its a "how come my headcanon isnt in the movie" thread
Dude just close your fist, it’s so easy lmao
First off it was Peggy's grand niece. Second they never smashed just kissed.
This is why you don’t use time travel to fix your story problem. It just opens up endless holes if you are meticulous.
When's the Phase 4 conference thingy?
Yes, outright murdered everyone on the ship and blew it up for good measure.
The Asgardians never got to Earth.
>everyone gets un-dusted
>thousands bodies falling from the skies because the planes crashed and didn't come back with the unsnappening
nice work team
>Banner was able to 'try' to bring back Black Widow, not just people who died in the snap. Why didn't he bring back Vision? His head was crushed, he wasn't killed by a stone.
>Hulk
>The beast that has secretly held-back and surgically landed in areas to avoid any human loss
>Upgraded to Banner intelligence in Professor Hulk
>Not being smart enough to undust people on safe areas
user why are you such a fucking baka?
yfw you just had your ass kicked by a dude who looks just like you and he says that your best friend is still alive
Cap hit the Pentagon building himself that's why there is no video
So, Steve let 9/11 happend?
>Cap and Loki: Space and Time Travel Shenanigans
>can't find the comic where Loki turns female and then gender swaps Rogers
