Executive meddling.

Trying to create stories around which comic books sold the most, instead of just telling a good story. The same thing happened to Dawn of Justice.

First one just felt like it was trying to one up the Raimi films since it was insecure. Andrew Garfield didn't feel genuine as Peter Parker. There's also barely any trial by fire for an origin film. The second one had too many subplots and a rushed ending that led to a cheap/unearned death. Spider-Man 3 felt more focused than either of these films.

Change for the sake of change led to some questionable decisions and made them more needlessly divisive than usual
Redoing everything from scratch instead of just jumping in with post-origin Peter
Parker parents vs Oscorp subplot, nobody cares about his parents, and May and Ben should be more important

Why the fuck did they kill Gween in the movies?
Yeah, I get it, she dies in the comics, but the comics continues after she dies. Peter copping with her death was the whole point, if you just kill a likable character for no reason it leaves a bad taste to the audience, not to mention it ruined the movie closure.

If you really really had to tack on the goblin shit after Blue Lightning got fried, she should have survived in a fakeout and only died in a third movie.

Uninteresting stories, boring villians, unlikable and unrelatable characters, Sony being retarded, and Andrew Garfiled being one of the worst actors to ever walk the earth. Amazing Spiderman was the only movie I've ever walked out of. I couldn't even make it past the first 30 minutes of the second one when it was on TV.

They cast a discount Robert Pattinson as Spider-man.
They tried to make Peter Parker cool which is the exact opposite of what the character should embody.
Lastly the story (Effectively the main antagonists) in both movies also sucked.

Tried to do too many things with the second one.
I liked them though. One of the few times that it really felt like Spider-man to me.

This, to be desu with you.

Fpbp
The deleted scenes of the first movie showed a better villain, a better death for ben parker and an overall better movie. Just delete the revenge plot and the "muh parents" shit and you'll have a solid Spider-man movie
Second one had the best suit of all Spidey movies, but that one was just really fucking stupid begause Sony was full retarded

Amy Pascal seduced Kevin Feige

In fairness Peter is supposed to be a chick magnet after he gets over his angry phase

Honestly better than the MCU Spider-Man.

The same probables as DCEU. Trying to do too much in a sequel. There were just too many plotlines that didn’t connect well. They tried to make a electro movie and death of Gwen Stacy movie. Some of the creative choices were meh (like having Harry become the Green Goblin instead of Norman) and the designs for the villains were lame. They should have kept it smaller focus like the first movie.

>first movie takes place in Highschool
>immediately drop the setting in the sequel
Was Sony retarded? Spidey in Highschool is one of people’s favorites. Even Disney realized this and has Peter in Highschool. And what is even weirder was that according to the leaked hacked emails, Sony was gonna make a prequel in the ASM universe with Peter in Highschool. So, why even have him graduate?

This series died with Gwen. I r o n y

>There's also barely any trial by fire for an origin film.

I'll disagree there. Between the car rescue, how much he got rekt by the Lizard in every fight, the gunshot, and losing Captain Stacy, Garfield's Peter struggled way more than Tobey's or Holland's.

>Spidey in Highschool is one of people’s favorites.

Spidey in college is objectively superior.

I don't care about what any of you says, TASM2 has the best big screen Spidey, with the best costume

For yoouuuuuuuuuuu for yoooooooouuuuuuuuu

thanks, satan

Sony trying to make a cinematic universe.
The first one wasn't really bad.

Papa Parker plots, lack of a third movie,

absolutely love garfield tho

Unironically good song.

Sony got too overconfident in trying to make its own superhero franchise and thought they could sell it back to Disney for $5 billion.

I unironically thought Andrew was a good Spidey and the Amazing 2 costume was god-tier.

Spidey thought

Hey Amy - just a couple of rando thoughts from 35,000 LAX-JFK:

- A rising trend we see with Millennials are the really extreme forms of experiential exercise like Tough Mudder (a sort of filthy triathalon), the Color Run and even things like Hot Power Yoga, veganism etc. Millennials will often post “N.B.D.” on their social media after doing it , as in No Big Deal, also known as the “humble brag”…..wondering if Spidey could get into that in some way….he’s super athletic, bendy, strong, intense….and it’s all NBD to him, of course.

- EDM (electronic dance music) is the defining music for Millennials. Wondering if there’s an EDM angle somewhere with Spidey? His movements are beautiful, would be awesome with a killer DJ behind it

- Snapchat just launched a “story” functionality, which is sort of “day in the life of me” told in a series of snapchats that expire after 24 hours. It has a very VIP quality about it, since invitation only. Getting invited into Spidey’s Snapchat circle would be huge, and very buzzworthy and cool.
