There are better ways to start a PPG thread.

Bad girls bad girls! Whatcha gonna do?

OP that's literally explained in the show's intro

Are there other cartoons with a mix of action and comedy that are as good as Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls and Invader Zim? It's rare that shows balance both well like they all did

Keep in mind that the original pitch was that Prof. Utonium accidentally dropped a can of whoopass into the mix instead of Chemical X.

It's funny.

Yeah, like posting lewd Blossom

please post some user

it was a different time.

Chemical X is Aku from SJ in case anyone was wondering.

juxtaposing the "little girls" with "the powers of superman"

Because the Prof. named her Buttercup.

Don't believe me? Watch the episode where he first gives them their names; he comes up with legit reasons for the other two (blossoming with intelligence, bubbling with sweetness) but he just names the green one Buttercup because... it starts with a 'b' I guess? The flower is not even green for crying out loud (it's also poisonous and avoided by most animals). Either way, he couldn't give a good reason, and Buttercup crosses her arms and scowls.

She has been angry ever since.

That was the movie.

desu I thought this shot was a bit excessive even as a kid. The show can get violent but not slow bloody shot of a tooth getting knocked out violent.

So, why take a shower if you're gonna get dirty again, user?

Buttercup is best

>Whoppass Girls are violent
No shit really?

Delete this.

There's literally an entire episode of Buttercup beating the shit out of people until their teeth fall out.

Also this.

1. World wasn't too pussy yet
2. "Little girls show" could get away with alot

>the official origin movie isn't canon!

I still don't understand why they beat the shit out of Rainbow the Clown after he was cured

Because it's funny, user. Also they didn't know the bleach did it, so it could've been a Jekyll and Hyde sort of deal. Why risk it.

Did they ever apologize for this?

He thanks them for returning his color and bringing him back to normal and their first instinct is to beat the shit out of him? Buttercup sure but Bubbles and Blossom? It felt out of character.

It's an interesting moral question. Did Rainbow turn into an entirely different person when he was the villain? Should he then be held accountable for his actions when he was his other self?
Perhaps an argument could be made that it was a sort of temporary insanity and that he shouldn't be punished for the crimes when he had no consciousness or control over his actions.

But fuck clowns anyway. It's better to beat the shit out of him just to be safe.

No, I’m jus pointing out the fact it was the movie and not an episode

Be warned, this is very lewd

cont.
Aku being the shape shifting master of evil/darkness and eventually be something that was physically amicable by nature in the "now" present day is a euphemism for how destructive female nature is. It wasn't even the 'sugar spice and everything nice' that was meant to implicate any thing relatable to them as characters or relatable to women of our species, the entire directive is about 'chemical x' and it being the fact that it created women that could make a change, which is something extremely dangerous/shouldn't be, given their emotional nature and how they can't act on logic. the little phone beeping with the red button and as they answer it they do nothing but listen to and take orders from 'the mayor' which is supposed to represent their brain (notice how the mayor is a dimwitted simpleton who howls at the slightest of anything, incompetent etc, is powerless)
No

If I recall correctly Craig Mccracken said that they could get away with more because CN was testing the waters for [adult swim] at the time.

>One of the pilots had the Whoopass Girls teach some pretty weak villains how to rob a bank and get arrested for it

Most of the big cartoons of the 1990s, and PPG in particular, feel like reactions to the bland sanitized and heavily censored cartoons of previous decades. PPG was violent and subversive because for the first and only time in cartoon history, it could be.

>somebody shut that kid up!
Blossom best leader and role model.

Who to, chimps?
They do the same all the time.

That was for the PPG movie
The real answer is that the 90s was all about pushing the limit of what's acceptable in entertainment.

Be honest

Did the clown really deserved it?

No he didn't.

Because a non-violent look at kindergarteners is basically this show. We all know how that turned out. They should have just called the show The Clolur Girls.

>The real answer is that the 90s was all about pushing the limit of what's acceptable in entertainment.
we need a new 90's then

Yes. Clownsdeserve only suffering.
