Luthor is a REALLY really closeted gay man who's urges will occasionally come out in the form of fucking random things with a S shield on it.

One of the big plot points is how Luthor wants really really really badly to be Superman and have superpowers too. And he knows at least several different ways to give himself kryptonian powers. So why doesn't he do it and give himelf powers too?

If China can do it, he should be able to. General Lane had his army guys whip up a Superwoman suit that also perfectly gave kryptonian powers. He could at the very least give himself speed force powers any time just by reciting an equation
