Nefcy. The story as it's progressed makes clear she had no plan besides dropping vague hints about things in the future, and paying off on some of those hints. A character from past seasons shows up again with no explanation in the current season, they lampshade this fact, and then just move on without explaining it the narrative thrust of the show changes from one episode to the next in terms of who is being built up as evil, and plot points in one episode are scrapped a couple eps later offscreen. Star Vs. is truly garbage.

This is the correct answer. Say what you will about Sugar's show, but she has ideas, knows how she wants to execute them, and then follows through.

Ward had no fucking clue what he was doing. Adventure Time was just random nonsense with no real plan, with pivotal story elements such as the story taking place in a post-apocalyptic world being decided on the spot during production.

His show only managed good for the first few seasons because he lucked out with a crew that was way more talented than him, and immediatly went to shit when they left for greener pastures

Every episode that she actually worked on was basically a realization of what the show could have been with more solid control over the boarders. She's not a hack, she just made a fucking stupid decision by giving them too much control.

Danny Phantom was the one cartoon he genuinely tried most of the way through, he fucked up the ending and showed that he can't write friendships for shit. it only got made because FoP money.

Everything else afterwards is 100% phoned in. He's out of touch and desperately trying to grab the internet 3.0 generation. His artstyle is complete shit and helped bolster the simplification/flatness of so called "calarts".

Deadlines sure, but incompetence is one thing John K couldn't have been faulted on during the production of Ren and Stimpy, the show was a massive hit and that's because it was massively funny, and stopped being so almost immediately after his departure

No. Some things are serious some things are funny, if you've been alive for more than a day then you've had fun and you've had trouble. The combination of both makes the complete story. This doesn't stop being true in media, hell, whatever shows/comics you like probably know when to drop the darkness and make the obvious joke. Or to take something that deserves to be taken seriously, seriously.

Even then for the most part even the serious elements of OK KO are lighthearted. The backstory for like the first two seasons is based on a repeated clip of a sandwich falling.
