Yeah, thanks for recommending that to me. I'm still beating myself up for not finding them before. I really liked the apocalyptic tones of the album especially. For some reason, it reminded me of the movie Threads, what with all the references to nuclear war. I feel like it's something she'd listen to because it borders on thrash at times.

Based. I can't get over Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death myself, but I tend to see all hardcore/punk as one thing instead of picking and choosing which album is better than what. I feel like arguing over what was and what wasn't (along with the ironic commercialization of the genre/counter-culture) is what lead to the death of it anyway.

Dude the Apocalyptic Raids version of Triumph of Death blew my fucking mind when I first heard it. I was used to Venom and Slayer's first few albums and a little bit of Bathory and then here comes this fucking EP with its sepulchral riffs and Tom G. Warrior's corpse vocals to rock my then high school aged understanding of metal away. I had heard Messiah from Satanic Rites(which was the first song I ever learned on bass), but Apocalyptic Raids was something else. I had a similar response to Sarcofago's INRI and Vulcano's Bloody Vengeance.

I need to relisten to more Iron Maiden. I remember loving them when I first heard Number of the Beast in Guitar Hero III when my older sister played it and then loving the fuck out of them when I was first getting really into metal. As of recently I've only really been listening to the Paul Di'Anno stuff. Afraid To Shoot Strangers came up on one of my playlists while I was at work a few days ago and I remember it and Paschendale being my favorite Maiden songs so who knows.

I think my favorite Maiden album would be Somewhere In Time, but one of these days I'll go through their entire discog and see if it still holds up. Give it a listen when you get the chance. Ready for a real twist though? My favorite music genre is synthwave.

That's a pretty based genre. I absolutely adore new wave and prog rock in addition to thrash metal. Men At Work's Business as Usual is in my top 5 albums of all time(though that's more pop rock). King Crimson's ITCOTCK and Pink Floyd's Meddle are also among my favorites. All time favorite album is Celtic Frost's To Mega Therion, though

I actually heard Persecution Mania by Sodom through a thread on /k/ back when I was underage b&(zoomer so this was in 2016) and it also blew my mind. I've been just recently getting into Candlemass and I fucking love them. Epicus Doomicus Metallicus quickly became one of my favorite metal albums of all time. Langquist's vocals on Under the Oak and A Sorcerer's Pledge are full of such anguish and emotion its fucking awesome. Marcolin is great too, especially on tracks like At The Gallows End and Samarithan. Acid Bath is also one of my all time favorites. Dax is a phenomenal vocalist.
