>still no new animated Batman that comes close to TAS

It's all so tiresome.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold was as good as TAS if you are into camp.

Chill in the Night was also pretty close to being a TAS episode.

The Brave and the Bold was better

BatB was great, but it wasn't as memorable or influential as TAS by a long shot.

> have the full collection set
> already has a few starting cracks in the center of the discs despite the excellent disc-release design

but worst of all:
> get ot "day of the samurai"
> as soon as the woman hits the mat after being thrown, the video corrupts and displays 2 frames from an action movie instead, then skips to the next episode

> can't fucking copy that floppy because "device protection" exists on optical media
its like they want the sets to become useless after 5 years of use so you're forced to buy another
oh wait that's what planned obsolescence is and does, never mind

thank you, video streaming/torrent sites

this is a spider-man cartoon

Eh, I'm cool with it. The Batman shows that came out after were pretty good as well. Batman's got a good TV streak compared to several heroes, even Spider-Man.

They have no trouble releasing good Batman animated movies though. What gives?

>> can't fucking copy that floppy because "device protection" exists on optical media
Use MakeMKV.

Brave and the Bold was pretty great, though it was a completely different style of Batman. BTAS for neo noir heavily atmospheric style Batman and Brave and the Bold for heavily tongue in cheek comedy Batman.

Nostalgia has blinded you. It has a handful of truly excellent episodes, just as many really poor ones and a lot of average non-entity episodes in between.

Maybe not influential, but it was plenty memorable for various reasons. It introduced cartoon-only fans to characters who had either never seen a day in animated form, or were from the likes of Super Friends, which isn't exactly something to be proud of. It even gave us an Aquaman who was extremely loveable while still having that obnoxious orange/green color scheme.

You want a Brave and the Bold thread? Because that's how you get Brave and the Bold threads.

Bud, I have the DVD set from 2008,too. Just get the blu rays and rip them.

Direct me to the good episodes. I started from the beginning at dropped it a few episodes in. Boring shite.

We almost got that No Man's Land animated series

>it wasn't as memorable
It was.
>influential as TAS
This was pure luck. TAS was made in the right time.

Batgirl should have been naked

I personally liked Brave and Bold a lot better than BTAS because I'm a fan of a several DC second-stringers but don't really care about Batman. So BTAS didn't have much to offer for me, while Brave and Bold did.

However, BTAS would probably be the preferable option for people who want Batman rather than all the other heroes. How many Brave and Bold episodes even handled the aspect of Batman/Bruce Wayne double life? "Chill of the Night" had him unmask and the Birds of Prey episode showed his Matches Malone alter ego, but I have trouble remembering if there were any other episodes at all that showed him outside the bat costume.

Brave and Bold was a fun show about a less anti-social Batman who's teaming up with his super-powered allies and friends on a regular basis, but BTAS was more focused on Batman and Bruce Wayne.

it's batman actually

I honestly don't know why she wasn't.

You can always just rebuy the collection if you want to have a physical copy. They released another box set for The Dark Knight Returns, and I've seen a very tempting bluray collection at my local Wal-Mart.

"Batman: Beyond" HAD potential. It just never let its villains play. Way too many of them were cut down early, instead of being allowed to have actual arcs & character development.

To be honest, though, WB was pushing for a CG show at the time, and that would've never done No Man's Land justice.

I still wish we got a straight Batman series in the tone of BATB.

With their passion for DC's lore, it would probably be the best Batman cartoon of all time.

>I still wish we got a straight Batman series in the tone of BATB.

A lot of the people who worked on BATB also worked on BTAS and JLU, so that version is probably as close as you're going to get to "straight Batman." There was also a speech in BATB about different versions (the grimdark one, the campy one, the noir detective, etc.)of Batman all having value to the fandom.

Am I the only one who thinks DCEU Aquaman's characterization is lifted straight from BATB? That'd make it pretty influential. Also, Lego Batman owes a lot to BATB conceptually
