I'd make them more of a JSA-like group with the majority of them having their own takes on patriotism and the human condition, using those struggles in their lives outside of blowing the Nazis up. We've barely seen anything going on with their alter egos.

I wasn't sure if they specified if it was on Earth-10 or not. If it's an all-new Earth-X then it's okay.

If it turns out the characters are PD (and it's still not 100% confirmed yet), you might have your chance at doing that. The catch is you wouldn't be able to use the Freedom Fighters name and having them fight a world ruled by Nazis would be to close to what DC's doing.

How many other DC/Marvel books on the market are currently shoving patriotism up your ass?

Problem with these books is that they're too short lived to really flesh out the characters to begin with. So as a result you get minis and authors writing as if every issue could be its last (which often turns out true). One concept though I'd like to see a run explore is the other patriotic legends explained and why Sam seems to be the only one that pops up. Hell maybe even have them tone down Overman and make the German one the big bad or corrupted baddie somehow.

We need this shit just about as much as we need another era of EXTREME 90's.
