Blade 2 was so fucking good man.
Isn't Blade rather niche by comparison to the larger Marvel Universe? How bad can the Vampire problem be? It's not like Moon Knight exclusively hunts Werewolves
as long as there are vampires, I kill
Elsa Bloodstone brought this up in Damnation, and then got into an argument with Blade.
Blade isn't even the best Marvel vampire anymore.
Can you even call that an argument? Nigga just had to say "You're welcome" and it was over.
Loses a few points for "virus" vampires. Probably on the same level as Cap and Iron Man 1, tho.
Vampire Jubilee is so fucking cute I can't handle it!
Every once in a while vampires become some kind of threat and have also been tied to the X-Men. The only problem is that they rarely have any staying power and are forgotten quickly after. I think they were set up for a larger role in Marvel NOW or ANAD, somewhere around that time. And then nothing came of it.
I like to think vampires are smart enough not to make a ruckus and destroy New York every month that avengers et Al forget they exist and only blade, sometimes with ghost rider go out vampire bashing, especially after a few too many brews.
They really need to make Blade look this in the comics, it's his best look.
Blade was not only ground-breaking but was an intrinsically good superhero/action movie. The fact that it's so readily forgotten/dismissed by Jizzmodo sites and everyone else heaping praise on Black Panther shows how little they actually care about any of this in the first place.
They're pretty heavily linked to Captain Britain in Marvel.
Something I loved about the I, Vampire book from Nu52 was that most vampires kept a low profile out of explicit fear of superheroes.
>How bad can the Vampire problem be?
Rarely world threatening, but they kill plenty of people, broheim.
They've been doing that since the first movie, pleb. The comics did not improve.
Doubt it.
It benefits from Vampirism and Dhampirism being sort of self-explanatory or swiftly explained in modern day due to familiarity, so it can focus elsewhere without setup being needed.
And most of the focus was just in being entertaining action and amusing clashes of character. Efficiency is always welcome by me.
I remember explaining to a friend who kept going on about how Black Panther was the first black superhero with his own movie how Blade was first and even helped kick off the whole comic book movie craze but he didn’t believe me that Blade was a comic at all.
Spiderman 2
The only bad thing about Blade 1 was the shitty CGI in the final battle. They could easily have done without it but nooo, they had to have their bad 90s CGI to show off Frost's new powers and death.
The problem with Blade, especially movie Blade, is that being black has no bearing on his character at all. Which means he is a well created character but not good for modern marketing.
I love Blade. I wish it Marvel put out more comics or collections. I loved the first two movies to death and Blade became a huge name. It makes no sense he doesnt have more books or media push. A Blade video game would be gangbusters.
Anyone have any good Blade reading recommendations? Any good TPBs or collections? Pic is of a sweet Blade figure I spent tax return money on.
...oh. Oh shit. I haven't seen Blade in like fifteen years. I forgot it was this good.
>A Blade video game would be gangbusters.
There were, my man. First one for PSX make it difficult to get past tutorial because of some stupid 3D platforming, if I recall. There's a Blade 2 for PS2.
And then there's Ghost Rider, for PS2. Once you finish the game, you can replay as Blade, which is awesome. I dunno how well that goes, since in the first run you need to use certain powers to get past enemies' damage reduction, and Blade doesn't have those other powers. There's also some annoying racing stages, but those are manageable.
People don't seem to have any idea at all that Blade is a Marvel character.
1:25 onwards is the kind of shit that was going on in the lead-up to Black Panther.

Marvels history with Vampires is kinda goofy that way. Tomb of Dracula was big in the 70's but after that point Vampire books were scattershot with Midnight Sons, Nightstalkers, Blade and random appearances in other books. Captain Britain and MI-13 had that major vampire story but nobody read that book despite it being pretty solid.
>It's not like Moon Knight exclusively hunts Werewolves
He should.
>Captain Britain and MI-13 had that major vampire story but nobody read that book despite it being pretty solid.
That was fun. Then Curse of the Mutants ignored it completely, turned Dracula into some videogame version and put a bunch of weird OC shit. Still was a fun ride in the end, though.
No, because dipshit film makers think that everysingle fucking superhero movie be an origin story, imagine how much better captain marvel would be sans shitty origin story
Im pretty sure Spawn was the first, but that movie was kinda shit
So what your saying is
Blade = Goblin slayer
That’s boring. He can do more
