>>>Thanks to Andrew Elia for spotting this one. But the recent Walmart DC Giant-Sized Superman #9 and #10, reprinting classic stories has been bowdlerising them a little for the Walmart audience. What was once acceptable, for some reason, is no longer kosher.
>>>Especially when it comes to how the later Michael Turner drew women. Or rather the clothes he drew on women. Or not.
>>>So in these reprinted issues of Superman/Batman by Jeph Loeb and Michael Turner, chosen specially by DC Comics for these Walmart comic books, we have Supergirl, Kara, sporting a rather specific asymmetrical look on Paraside Island, where she is hanging out with the other Themyscrians. Well, one bit of her seems to be hanging out more than the others.
... So Superman fantasizing about Lois Dying multiple ways is ok, but god forbid we show the butt of a Heroine in a skimpy costume
Not Micheal Turner, the man was taking from us too soon! This is trampling on his grave since he's not alive to defend himself.
Luis Bennett
>So Superman fantasizing about Lois Dying multiple ways is ok But it wasn't and that's why they got criticized for it. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the reason for the censoring. They probably don't want a repeat. Still sucks though.
Liam Lee
It's more offensive how shitty the editing looks. At least put in the bare minimum effort if you're gonna alter the artwork.
Jesus, the least they could've done is get someone competent to do the censoring, that looks like they got an intern to use the paint bucket in photoshop.
Joshua Rodriguez
It seemed the story was trying a bit too hard and given the accessibility of the comic I can understand the concern but not to the extent that it got.
Blake Butler
Wait, they covered up the little bit of thigh on that chick, but left Harbinger's costume intact? What the duck is even going on at DC?
Logan Robinson
>has been bowdlerising them a little for the Walmart audience. What was once acceptable, for some reason, is no longer kosher. >for some reason >its edited for the Walmart audience what the fuck other reason do you think there is you stupid shit?
William Lopez
>So Superman fantasizing about Lois Dying multiple ways is ok, but god forbid we show the butt of a Heroine in a skimpy costume Violence-Good Sex-Bad
Isaiah Morales
Wow. I mean, never liked Turner style, and the original pick is a pretty shitty looking ass, but damn, they completely butchered the lineart there.
Alexander Ortiz
Holy shit this is some garbage editing! It's like none of the artists wanted to do this so DC just made old blind janitor to do this using windows 2000
The edits are shitty, but I can understand the intent. Kara is a teenager, and this is being sold to a general audience outside of the core comic-book fans. Somebody was going to make an outraged blog post or Twitter warcry.
Now, instead of that group of people starting the outrage machine, it'll be another group of people being OUTRAGED that DC dared to decide to edit their own intellectual property.
Juan Anderson
Yet they kept the snuff prom comic of Lois intact. What, you can torture and maim Lois but don’t show her legs?
Tyler Lee
VIOLENCE GOOD LEWDNESS BAD
Jack King
I'm glad the collected edition hardcover I got still has the original art, just checked.
Nathaniel Wilson
You're right. Let's get rid of both.
Isaac Brooks
should've just made it a symmetrical leotard desu
Camden Long
>Kara is a teenager The character being edited in these is Artemis not Kara, Rich is a moron. She's an adult.
Also it's literally just the same as a swimsuit cut. We're at the point where something a Christian mother wouldn't be offended by seeing it at the beach or on the Olympics, but in a comic it's apparently Too Much.
Camden Russell
>I’m not even seeing a difference in this one There's none, it shows that Kara is the only one getting her outfit edited?
Noah Myers
>Wal-Mart doesn't want asscheeks hanging out. Imagine my shock.
It’s not Kara the two being edited are Artemis and Diana
Austin Nelson
This is just stupid too.
Is that Harbinger? That's what I thought but she's been very absent since the original Crises.
John Adams
Or more likely the backlash from that has lead them to be very careful and sensor more than needed.
Bentley Bell
I'm triggered at the wrong perspective on that leg
Gabriel Rivera
I didn't read the story but the outrage was stupid. Makes me wonder why capetards get offended their trash gets called kiddie shit when they cry about a woman dying in a dream sequence.
Jaxon Perry
>Wal-Mart doesn't want asscheeks hanging out. >Meanwhile, their customers....
Kevin Nguyen
>muh massah is always right it's not even a cover you fucking slave
Jace Brown
>Kara is a teenager, and this is being sold to a general audience outside of the core comic-book fans. FFS By that logic Walmart should also stop selling bikini swimsuits. For god's sake I hope they don't sell underwear, with actual images of people in underwear on or near the packaging. I also hope Walmart doesn't sell any DVDs that feature people in skimpy clothing. I better not see a $4 DVD of Into The Blue starring Jessica Alba in their bargain bins.
What we're talking about here are cartoon drawings that were fine for teenagers 10 years ago.
Oh I guarantee you there are posters and CD inserts of of Ariana Grande with much more explicit images, marketed directly to tweens.
DC is doing this because they're beyond cucked and don't want to promote "male gaze". Fukk off and die. Can't wait till the comic industry collapses. Good riddance. It's ruled by terrible people who are giving our culture away.
Kayden Green
It's not censorship when it's a company doing it to their own work. Or are we pretending they ever gave their writers and artists absolute freedom?
Jayden Foster
Both versions looks terrible, but for different reasons. The original is just a really stupid, Liefeld-esque design, and the edit is one of the most half-assed things I've ever seen.
Liam Peterson
>It's not censorship when it's a company doing it to their own work Based retard
Jace Martinez
It is though, even if they are self-censoring that’s still censoring
Jacob Butler
Was it done by Walmart's request or not? I can't tell.
It was probably an Overcorrection, after the debacle that is King’s Torture Porn
Jacob Foster
This is so cancerous it went back in time and killed Turner.
Julian Murphy
I'm laughing at you.
Elijah Nelson
I guess it's time to start buying the DC omnibuses and trades I was putting off because of their expense.
What post-crisis books have nudity or edgy shit likely to be censored in the future? I'll contribute
>Kiling Joke >Sandman >Anything ex-Vertigo >Seven Soldiers (most of Zatanna's near-nudity, iirc) >Azz Joker >Deadman tpb >Batman: The Cat and the Bat (image related)
So all this is, for now, just the stuff collected in B/S trades? How many of them? I want to buy second hand copies of the original trades before it becomes a numbers game as to which I get. I already have Public Enemies but I'm considering 'panic' buying.
Jesus Christ, it's like don't even want to admit buttcracks or ass definition even exists. And yet at the same time Nicki Minaj exists. What the fuck is the deal with popular culture's bizarre hipocrisy?
Isaac Kelly
We live in polarized times, and when trying not to offend liberals OR conservatives the best bet is to go back to Puritanism.
Conservatism is classically conservative of course, and many modern liberals seem to think the sexual revolution was for men.
It's also the same time a shows like Game of Thrones, Sparticus, and Rome could have sex scenes that were/are harder core than classic softcore movies.
Isaiah Robinson
Just a reminder that the people feigning outrage about this get really incensed about what's appropriate for kids when it comes to social topics.
Angel Lopez
>Buy Walmart giant sized batman for Jonah Hex >It's written by bendis.... That's weird I remember near naked Supergirl from the one superman giant sized I got ( it's new story guest starred Sgt. Rock)
Tyler Myers
>people who think [x] also think [y] Fuck off. I don't give a shit what kids see and it's not my job to police it, that's up to the parents.
David Adams
>moral crusaders afraid of people having asses Well at least they won casting Brie Larson.
You can always just pirate it. I've gone digital with my comic reading on a tablet and I generally see no issues with pirating things if they aren't on comixology or the marvel unlimited app.
Henry White
It has to be Sharia compliant now.
Aiden Gonzalez
After Crisis, she was in Millennium and then New Guardians. Vanished after New Guardians flopped but reappeared in War of the Gods and then appeared in a one-off JLA special DC churned out when Morrison's run was a huge hit.
After the JLA special, she showed up in Phil Jimenez's Wonder Woman run but as a civilian. She had retired from being an apocalypse prevention expert/hero after the JLA special, but was sought out by Wonder Woman to become the newest historian for the Amazons after the previous one died.
Hence why she's in civilian clothing in said Superman/Batman arc and why she's with the Amazon
David Powell
Serious discussion: We need to talk about what's really behind the massive spike in censorship in the west. It's most likely that the increased influence of the Chinese and the Saudi Arabians is (at least partially) behind this. They are clearly pushing western corporations to censor media, not just in what they release in asia, but in their western releases as well.
Jaxson Hall
And the Leftists/SJWs are their useful idiots
Connor Wilson
it's just leftists who are 25 and below. The older leftists remember that they were behind sexual liberation and freedom of expression. These NEW 'leftists' (though I don't think they would fall on that part of the spectrum of they took a test) are the problem
Grayson Price
Maybe they did this specifically because you fucking retards tried to turn King's Superman story into a controversy by whining how exploitative it was?
Matthew Carter
I laughed.
Leo Ward
Why does he do the torso so looooong?
Eli Barnes
>>Especially when it comes to how the later Michael Turner drew women. Or rather the clothes he drew on women. Or not. >>the later Michael Turner Rich still doesn't have people proofread their articles after all these years?
Christopher Green
He was a product of the 90s, and honestly his DC work wasn't that great, nor even his early Image work. But he got better rapidly and because the best of the 90s art style, so much so that he created his own publisher, Aspen, and when they launched Fathom it was the biggest selling comic of the year (and many years prior)
It's not even that lewd. WW wore less in her movie Snark response: The less of Turner's art we have to see the better.
Lucas Clark
This is the same board that just couple of months ago was crying nonstop about Tom King's Superman story featuring Lois dying and how outrageous it was for Walmart to stock it because little children could see it, despite the intended age demographic being teens and up for those comics.
Got to love the hypocrisy here. >inb4 b-but muh co/ isn't a single person I know dipshit, but that didn't stop majority of the posts about King's story be about it should have never been allowed to be printed.
Ethan Taylor
most of the posts were about how bad the story is, not >think of the children!
Lincoln Reed
This, Kings Superman is all over the place and the story is extremely disjointed, the only thing that’s actually good about it is Kuberts art
Juan Morris
Stop lying. Barely anyone read the story because it wasn't scanned outside of couple of pages. Biggest complaint was literally "how can you put fetish torture porn in a kids comic!"
I know this because I had to dig up the press release that stated the target age demo because bunch of retards kept going about how these were supposedly all ages comics.
Matthew Perez
>Wonder Woman >no ass >IN EITHER PICTURE In a civilized country this would be grounds for immediate execution.
>the left This is Walmart user, this is where the conservative prudes shop. Leftists would lose their cred if they were caught dead in a Walmart. It's no different than bleeped out cuss words in CDs sold at walmart
Gabriel Nguyen
Its because Islam is taking over the west any many people in positions of power are secretly Muslim. They are forcing their Shariah law onto comics little by little.
Nathan Davis
>It's no different than bleeped out cuss words in CDs sold at walmart
Wait, what? Is this real? Are Americans literally too stupid to even read the Parental Advisor Explicit Content labels now, even though they were the ones who fought to get them forced on all physical releases of music?
Jace Kelly
>step one, say content is bad >step two, rate them >step three, make those ratings harder to get/find >final step ban them
the US still has major problems with censorship, many libraries have Bone banned, of all things
Grayson Gray
T H I S
William Rogers
oh no, a leg !!!!! think of the children !!!
Tyler Mitchell
>Leftists would lose their cred if they were caught dead in a Walmart and yet when you look at BC comments, all the leftist 'this is sexist' censorious retards are cheering for it.
Ryan Jones
and Yea Forumsmblr still claims like sjws haven´t forced artists to censor themselves for the last 5 yeas. that the lag of sexy artwork all just magically happened simultaneously. all artists suddenly decided to completely change their style out of nowhere around the same time
Nolan Diaz
when was that one released?
Luke Miller
so wonder woman is a teenager as well now
Julian Wright
Dear fucking god that's some DeviantArt tier art. They "fix" the costume but the atrocious Rob Liefeld tier anatomy is OK. At least redraw it so it looks decent? No?
It's interesting how we live in a timeline where sex-obsessed queers call social platforms bigoted when they remove their fucked up kiddie porn drawings from their feeds but at the same time they campaign against leotards that were totally OK 40 years ago.
Xavier Ross
>and Yea Forumsmblr still claims like sjws haven´t forced artists to censor themselves for the last 5 yeas.
Why is Yea Forums suddenly against cleaning content for all ages comics? Kids see these things. This is not okay content for them. That's what you were arguing not that long ago in the artificial King "controversy" you wanted to launch. They have not changed the art for actual collections, just the Walmart reprints that, again, you claim are all ages comics.
Nathan Sullivan
It's the Jews, dude. Lefties AND Cuckservatives are their useful idiots.
Austin Rodriguez
This amazingly shitty looking.
You wish. This is entirely the result of an increasingly concentrated corporate landscape trying to sand away anything that might be controversial (and therefore profit harming) unless they think they can strategically deploy it for marketing reasons.
>This is not okay content for them Swimsuits are not okay content for kids. I'm glad we've regressed to the 40's.
Nathan Rogers
this shows how low is the quality of ape comics. Writing, plot, characterization? Nah, the only thing that matters is seeing characters that make your dick hard. It's just very poor very soft softcore pornography. The reason it's dying is internet, because there's no reason to spend money to see what you can see for free on insagram
Henry Rivera
>foxkids
William Parker
enjoy your capitalism boddy
Asher Gutierrez
You know very well it isn't the swimsuit itself but Turner's hyper stylized female form that's the issue.
Landon Clark
You mean the hyper stylized female form... being fit?
The Olympics: officially not okay content for kids.
Real woman gets her tits and ass out and sucks a thousand dicks on live TV: YAAASSS QUEEN SLAAAAAAAAYYY U GO GURL Fictional woman shows an ankle: THE PATRIARCHY IS RAPING ME
Joshua Peterson
If he'd drawn them like that you'd call his characters males because you don't have a fucking clue.
Cooper Miller
One is woman choosing to what she wants to do with her body and sexuality. The other is a middle aged guy drawing sexy and suggestive images of an underage girl for comic nerds to jerk off to. Can you spot the difference?
Does nobody remember the Supergirl reveal gif meme where basically every major superhero is shown, in pun-tastic way, to say that they'd like to bone her from this very goddamn storyarc?
Luis Ross
And yet if it was a woman drawing it you'd be clapping. Laugh all you want but it's literally misandry. Literally "I don't like it because a man made it"
Joseph Morgan
One's some cunt with zero self-respect the other is a drawing. Can you spot the difference?
Josiah Rogers
He drew them like any basic fit girl on instagram who dares take a picture at the beach and you call them "hyper stylized female form". The Beach: Not Okay Content For Kids
>And yet if it was a woman drawing it you'd be clapping
Again, it'd be a woman choosing to do that. Instead of a man intentionally sexualizing an underage girl for fap material.
Jace Scott
Right but if it was a woman sexualising the female fictional character you'd be clapping. Get the fuck over yourself and your hypocrisy.
Jaxson Lopez
The one in these pictures is Artemis. An adult. And Wonder Woman, an adults, ass. Kara is wearing what is essentially a sports bra and skirt in these images, which are the ones we are specifically talking about being edited and censored.
Benjamin Nelson
Looks like they colored it with fucking Paint
Aiden Lewis
Idpol is destroying the West. IT SHOULDN'T FUCKING MATTER WHO THE CREATOR IS. WHAT MATTERS IS THE CONTENT.
Jason Moore
Feminists should really just convert to Islam at this point.
It'd be questionable, but you might argue there's an artistic point to it beyond just for the sake of being sexy. In Micharl Turner's case we know it's just there because he draws all women looking like plastic, anorexic bimbos, being a 90s dude.
Henry Perry
>Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I'm not sure if I should enjoy this I really need to find out the sex of the creator to make up my mind
IMAGINE being this much of a piece of shit
Brandon Brooks
I was actually talking about this page in particular.
And you're defending the censorship of THESE images. We have no idea if this is censored yet, you just want to defend censorship of what the Thread is Actually About.
Jacob Johnson
Hold hands
Juan Mitchell
jesusfuck that anatomy
Zachary Clark
Really wish we could identify refugees from tumblr and permaban them
David Roberts
Same. Can't wait for the caliphate. If I had to choose between being the third wife of a hairy Arab or living in this Anti-Sex League feminist dystopia, sign me up for the Arab. At least we'd have an actual consistent reason why swimsuits showing legs are haram.
Luis Reed
Those look like granny panties.
Xavier Collins
And love!
Hudson Cook
Just go into a random Steven Universe thread and ban 3/4 of the posters Same thing
I think the censorship in this case is stupid but the replies were specifically addressing the difference between Nicky Minaj showing skin and drawing of a woman doing the same.
Leo Cooper
nooo they don't let us masturbate to underage girl how could this happen Yea Forumsros
Cooper Lopez
Why did they turn Wonder Woman into Captain Marvel
Nathaniel Butler
If you two have things your way, then there will be NO attractive female characters in fiction ever. Because Men are outlawed while women will not draw them due to pressure.
FUCK YOU AND THE FUCKING HORSE YOU RODE ON.
Benjamin Campbell
I could just as easily masturbate to muscular male characters in tight spandex. And don't even come at me with that """male power fantasy""" horse shit because if you do you're implying women and fags don't think big buff dudes in form-revealing outfits aren't sexy. There's some comic panels out there of Spider-Mans Spider-Buns that are fit for fucking doujins.
Asher Brooks
This thread's posters praising the decision kinda makes me DESPISE feminists and the LGBT. It seems that they want to censore what straight men like, but their stuff is a-Okay for children because REASONS.
And ther's no escape because anytime someone tries to make a club just for themselves, the feminist and LGBT will want to join and then the whole thing starts over again.
Levi Howard
>the images are Artemis and Diana >adults Oh no, the children will see images of any swimsuit they would see at the beach!! Oh allah save us!
.....in a thread where we are specifically talking about these images. Someone replied to these images being censored with 'Nicki Minaji exists and THIS [a swimsuit] is too far?' with 'One is woman choosing to what she wants to do with her body and sexuality. The other is a middle aged guy drawing sexy and suggestive images of an underage girl for comic nerds to jerk off to.' They only brought up that image to support the censorship of these images of adults. You're only deflecting.
Jeremiah Long
The left is of the firm belief that acting explicitly sexual and being as much of a slut as possible is a great thing but for some reason 2D women need to as morally righteous and sexually conservative as possible. It's fascinating and bizarre.
Leo Carter
lose weight
Jayden Young
Guys I think I've cracked the code. The right: drawings should be sexy and irl women should be moral The left: irl women should be sexy and drawings should be moral
Alexander Bell
you sound like a faggot
Samuel Miller
Incorrect. The far right wants BOTH to be moral.
It's the center right that wants drawings of sexy woman. Moral woman I'm not entirely sure then.
Austin Watson
Also, Islam also counts as Far right in this case.
Carson Baker
Real people having to freedom to choose for themselves is great. Drawings done in the context of simply wanting to objectify women as masturbation reference material is very different.
Justin Phillips
Nicki Minaj is a real person. Michael Turner's drawings are anatomically incorrect sexbomb monstrosities.
Ethan Peterson
I would changed >The left: irl women should be degenerate and drawings should be moral
Considering they also want F1 models banned for being sexy too. The left is a censorous mess who has no idea what their morals are.
Any time they say 'this is fine but THIS is the line' they're just hedging their bets so they can get agreement and slowly move the line over and over and over. They pretend that 'agency' is the problem but they don't give a fuck about agency, because then they want F1 girls and Darts walk-on and page 3 models who are real women with real agency to be banned.
Brandon Reyes
the right doesn't give a shit about art as long as it sells. They are the most open to pornographic drawing. Conservative and right might overlap in the USA, but globally the right wing of politics is about money, not morale.
Nolan Ross
The way you post about it, it sounds like it should be downright illegal, or dare I say it, HARAM to draw sexy women.
And let's just say I don't want to live in this "paradise" you speak of.
Carter Green
Fictional women are objects whether you like it or not. Creators hold no duty to your views. Who makes what or the intent behind it is irrelevant, only the end product matters. Anything you deem distasteful can be ignored. Nobody owes you or me anything.
Noah Nguyen
You want swimsuits that show what any child will see at the beach and on TV during the Olympics to be censored. That's what you are defending right now.
Your 'agency' bullshit is nonsense, and we know it's bullshit because when censorious snakes like you get the chance, it just continues to the banning of grid girls and page 3. 'But muh agency' is just a deflection tactic for you to defend censorship of someone ANYONE CAN SEE AT THE BEACH.
Landon Watson
get help
Grayson Anderson
I recognize the left has some decent ideas regarding rampant police brutality, gay marriage, abortions and the like. It has some bad ideas regarding fiction. Fiction plays a bigger role in my day to day life than faggots getting married, women aborting and niggers not getting beat up. Therefore, I am content with things going against the left to spite them, since they dared touch my fiction, even if these results in people suffering. I am not being ironic.
Kayden Hall
I don't know why but this thread made me want a Philly cheesesteak.
Henry Ortiz
>You want swimsuits that show what any child will see at the beach and on TV during the Olympics to be censored
No, that's you just projecting a strawman argument.
Joseph Richardson
>gay marriage, abortions >decent ideas
Caleb Bennett
get help
Asher Butler
>strawman argument You are defending this censorship. This censorship, which is censoring A SWIMSUIT SHOWING LEG.
Oliver Roberts
As a fag who appreciates what the left has done for me and other fags, I agree. Getting real fucking tired of this wrongthink bullshit.
Matthew Cruz
nah he summed up your argument pretty well
Ryan Ross
You're the one who said they're doing it to censor underage girls despite the fact that it's the adults getting censored.
Jace Richardson
I don't advocate censorship. But there is merit in criticizing the way the book in question is drawn. Because the nudity in the book is there simply as cheap cheesecake that adds nothing to the book, which is really shitty even on its own story merits.
Owen Davis
And I think I know why. Because right after gay marriage became a thing, the left ditched you for transexuals and muslims.
David Murphy
>I don't advocate censorship but if something meets this criteria it should be censored
Nathaniel Reed
>cheap cheesecake that adds nothing to the book I'm a bi woman and you're censoring my enjoyment of a book because I happen to enjoy looking at attractive women. It adds something: my enjoyment. You are a censorious snake cheering a modern comics code.
John Campbell
To me it seems the objection was the costumes showing exposed buttocks. I think the much better question is why would they want to reprint this book if they thought they had to tone down Turner's art so much. There are way better Supergirl material to reprint.
Blake Thomas
Again, you make it sound like it should be illegal.
Guy can draw whatever he likes, as long as it doesn't look hilariously bad ala Rob Liefeld. Shoujo Manga draws men to look like sparkly pretty boys with misshapen proportions but I don't see you complaining about "male gaze" there. No it's only a problem when MEN do it. Because MEN GRRRR.
Christian Robinson
I didn't know Megan Fox posted on 4channel.
Hudson King
Hell I don't know, maybe. I mean, I've never liked Gay Pride or flaunting sexuality or being obnoxious about it, but shit even thinking like that is termed problematic these days. I guess my pet peeve about the left these days is they find the victim of the week to uphold and champion regardless or context or if they should. Results in all this in-fighting and sweeping generalisations about who I should consider an ally. I don't know shit about trannies and I don't wanna know, that's their business not mine. And Islam? Really? Saying you support fags and Islam is like saying you support BLM and the KKK.
Nathan Edwards
There's a difference between demanding banning something and having a critical discussion about the material.
Chase Baker
Oh stop hiding. You're a fucking hypocrite and the only thing you care about is who made what. Anything would get your stamp of approval if the right person made it. You don't care about anything other than something meeting your fucking insane agenda.
Jordan Sanchez
They're lumping every minority they can find to unite their combined hatred towards the majority, regardless of whether they are compatible with each other or not. I get the feeling that if they finally DO get what they want, the in fighting will finally get worse because now there's nothing opposing them anymore except each other.
Hunter Williams
"A critical discussion" aka defending the censorship of art because it shows what any person would see at the beach. Modern comics code bullshit.
Joseph Campbell
This. Look at Bayonetta and how Feminists do everything they can to deny a woman's agency for how she was designed her because they personally disliked it.
Lucas James
Feminist: muh agency narrative Feminists five minutes later:
Should have added a shit stain for the Walmart audience
Bentley Phillips
It's great when they have to try and stay quiet because their bullshit is so wrong. Look at Harley Quinn, she should be getting so much more 'this is sexist' narrative (exists mainly for a man, sexy, fanservice), but every Hot Topic girl fucking loves her. Because they have no idea what women actually enjoy and they don't care, because it's all about pushing their ideological censorship. But the only way they can claim to do that is by pretending to speak for women.
Jeremiah Gutierrez
>exists mainly for a man um, no sweety
Gabriel Miller
My issue are entirely that Turner's "sexy" art is just tacky and his anatomy looks awkward. It's the embodiment of everything wrong with 90s comics art.
Angel Price
The love for Harley Quinn, particularly by females, confounds me to this day. >Whackjob bimbo playing sidekick to a violently abusive insane criminal This? This is what you like? Harley Quinn is a fucking joke, and not the funny kind. Don't get me wrong, she can be an interesting and fascinating character in the right hands, but clap for her you should not.
Gabriel Perez
Joker is homicidal lunatic who abuses his girlfriend and has a gay obsession with Batman yet men love him.
Jeremiah Cook
Okay great, it's great that you don't like his art.
Stop defending the censorship of it. I don't like Land, if they decided to censor his art, I wouldn't defend it. It's not that hard to say 'you shouldn't censor art, it's doesn't matter if I don't like it, or it's sexy, you shouldn't censor art.' It's not that hard to NOT defend censorship, sis.
You're just trying over and over and over again to come up with reason why "actually, me defending this censorship is okay". It's not. You are defending the modern comics code.
Jace Hernandez
Neither Harley Quinn nor the Joker should be celebrated. They're both horrible people. And shit at least Joker is in charge and commands fear from his underlings so he's got that going for him. Not so much from Harley. Why don't more women like, I don't know, Cat Woman or Talia? Harley is a broken person and submissive to all the wrong things, which, again, can make her very compelling, but how can anyone look at her and adore her to such a level?
Robert Bell
If that's what you meant to say then say so in the first place. I'm not a fan of his style either, but the way you went about it earlier made you sound like a old school marm.
Men generally don't depict him as the hero though.
Matthew Jenkins
Bitches love 50 Shades too. I think the idea of what women like is so torn and distorted from the ideologies who want to use the mythological 'appealing to women' to change things to how their ideology demands, instead of actually appealing to women.
Easton Sanchez
>Culture that defends people who have on average more than 1000 sexual partners is ferociously against leotards because too sexual
>Men generally don't depict him as the hero though.
But they do idolize him.
Kayden Phillips
A 1970s study showed that something like 30% of gays have had more than 1000 sexual partners, so it's probably worse in 2019. Gays say that isn't true, just like it isn't true that they're all pedophiles. Interestingly enough, I came across a list of servers (about 1000 servers) in a notoriously LGBT heavy community and a huge chunk of these were just for (drawn) child pornography. All of these servers had an LGBT tag. Hmmmmmmmm...
Cooper Green
They think Joker will help gamers rise up.
Owen Bell
Let me guess, depiction of fictional sexy women is considered evil, but lusting over fictional young boys is okay?
Adrian Scott
>Men generally don't depict him as the hero though.
Have you not seen the reaction to the new Joker movie?
Alexander Nguyen
>Harley is a broken person and submissive to all the wrong things You could probably write a thesis on where Harley Quinn fits into female fan culture. She's the last mainstream expression of the pre-feminist pop culture takeover 'squee' Hot Topic fangirls. Women are attracted to dark Draco, Sasuke, and they could twist Joker into being something like that with a lolsorandom edge which was also popular. And Harley is a great design and canon fangirl character to insert into who is somewhat equal in lolrandom and somewhat tragic in her own way.
Joshua Scott
Let me rephrase that. They don't try to whitewash his misdeeds and have him be the anti-hero like what they did with Harley.
Although there WAS that one Joker comic where Batman was made to be a bad guy "aka Not!Trump" while Joker's supposed to stand up for BLM.
Ayden Jones
>They don't try to whitewash his misdeeds and have him be the anti-hero like what they did with Harley.
But that's exactly what the reaction for the Joaquin movie Joker has been.
Jeremiah Reyes
He's the protagonist in the movie. You make it sound like villain protagonists should be outlawed.
Dylan Moore
He’s not lying retard.
Samuel Morgan

So, what did they do with naked Supergirl? That's all that really matters.
Aaron Davis
manga is art, graphic novels is art, capeshit comics are glorified toilet paper
After what happened with Mortal Kombat 11, this does NOT surprise me anymore. Women are covered from head to toe but the men who were shirtless and wore less clothing were kept intact. Which is deeply hypocritical and only serves to make me HATE the LGBT these days.
Cooper Torres
>Women can’t show skin, but they can show their innards! Gore values.
Grayson Hughes
>videogame with extremely graphic gore, but god forbid the women show some skin Ahhhhh, America.
>make me HATE You already hated, you're just looking for an excuse to whine about your hatred.
Asher Turner
Implying you don't only read comics because you want to see characters fuck or be gay so you can shlick. You people are so hypocritical and you don't even realize it. Try pitching a thing that has no sexuality, no shipping bait in it to the zoomer crowd. They don't give a fuck. The first thing they do is ship the characters and look for porn. You are so fucking thirsty but then you see a badly drawn capeshit comic with some cheesecake and you think it's sexist because you are a hypocrite. I don't even like capeshit, I hate these drawings and I wouldn't pay a dime to read this drivel. But I'm sure that you are fully accepting of your average pangender comic with people smooching and teasing each other in every single panel which is just as bad and just as sexual if not more. You simply don't like THIS kind of cheesecake.
Colton Davis
I don't remember hating them when they wanted gay marriage though.
Isaac Collins
Jokes on them. MK11's demonetised on Youtube while Soul Calibur 6's just fine.
Cameron Cooper
That is literally Betsy's costume in the AoA movie...
That'd cost money. Now they obviously got an unpaid intern to do the job.
Liam Flores
>I don't understand fashion why isn't everybody in a jean and dollar shirt like myself?
Oliver Carter
No one being against turner's art or whatever is critical of something. This isn't criticism. It's whining. The difference between criticism and whining is you can critic something for failing to do something it's supposed to do. But art isn't supposed to be pleasant for you. Or anyone. It's supposed to be the artist's vision. Saying cheesecake shouldn't be, is like complaining your scissors don't make coffee. They're not supposed to. Asking for something else is fine. It's fine saying you don't like it. But there's nothing wrong with it.
Juan Ortiz
>Turning leotard into retarded one-sleeve shorts. Reminds me of this: youtu.be/DuQP4d_r_Gs
Brandon Cooper
There's definitely something wrong with that anatomy and either he didn't intend to do that or he was retarded. Either way he deserves scorn.
Christian Taylor
No, there is no obligation to have correct anatomy. Surrealism or other approaches that distort reality to achieve an aesthetic other than realism, are valid.
Eli Miller
>n-no I actually meant to do that! I'm like Picasso! He was a mediocre artist who couldn't even draw superhero comics properly. Stop defending him.
Logan Rogers
No, he really meant to exaggerate portions and have unrealistic positioning for the sake of titillation. There is no denying that.
Joshua Scott
>Why is Yea Forums suddenly against cleaning content for all ages comics? this isn´t a raitings problem. for decades showing stuff like that for teens was considered no problem. nowadays not even m rated games are allowed to have sexual depictions of women like that. it´s only men who are being sexual depicted
Jose Harris
That original outfit is so shitty that I can't even be mad about their self censorship
Aiden Young
Nobody cares. Fuck this run and fuck Loeb.
Jose Hill
>Implying you don't only read comics because you want to see characters fuck or be gay so you can shlick.
I already have actual porn for that.
Andrew Sullivan
To be fair, that's less the fault of the outfir and rather the dud they stuffed inside it.
Wasn't criticizing; I was asking a geniune question. I mostly see that on work out/fitness clothes (which Artemis is clearly wearing)... does it help in some way?
I was thinking about this gif a few weeks back, thank you for upping this.
Michael Stewart
Maybe stop looking for child porn then you fucking pedo
Adam Bailey
Not defending that guy post because that's the kind of shit you see on facebook BUT the only reason she got to use that outfit is because she asked for it. She's an x-men nerd and wanted the costume to be as accurate as possible
James Lopez
I mean the main problem I’m haveing with The Editing is the fact the edits were done so half assed. Do a good job or don’t bother
Sebastian Richardson
The bigger crime is Diana's lack of an ass
Tyler Carter
it's just design there's also no point to supes wearing his underwear over his pants
Justin Thomas
Why were you looking through usenet for CP, user.
Ryan Green
Which is not MCU
Juan Adams
>HATE the LGBT what the fuck mk11 doesnt even have lgbt people mkx is the one who had the gay dude
Adam Adams
I somehow doubt the validity of a faggot study done in the 70s
Connor Long
While you're 100% right, young people nowadays genuinely belive that conservatives were always about anti-censorship, artistic expression, and people doing whatever they wanted and it was only ever liberals who acted as the religiously uptight moral majority that shat on free speech and oppressed minority groups.
Jaxson Brooks
Ohhh okay, I miss her either way. I like her as the
> apocalypse prevention expert/hero
I like that role, with her being the Monitor's agent while the Monitor is too big and busy to handle stuff. Plus my dog's name is Lyla so I like Lyla.
Matthew Green
>Comics editted for Wal-Mart >Wal-Mart >A company owned by Southern Presbyterians who
>I'm not allowed to like things because I'm too busy deconstructing them looking for oppresion that I will definetly find because to me oppresion can be whatever I want >And that's a good thing
Leo Hill
HA HA OH WOW
Like, who edited this one? They didn't even have the common decency or artistic sense to follow the curve of her ass.
Angel Bailey
I want to punch this person but it feels like if I attempt to do so she will hiss at me, slither away and hide under my couch.
Jeremiah Baker
>leaves Yea Forums to escape the censorship debate >goes to Yea Forums >censor debate is here as well
I don't give a shit about comics, but god damn this editing is so atrocious like why even bother?
Why is it considered progressive to pretend basic human anatomy doesn't exist?
John Myers
Yup. Weebs happened because anime and manga came out around the time most american media were censored or made to be child friendly.
Landon Hall
Well that's what happens when the Left turns their backs on the very things that got them on the top in the first place.
Jackson Campbell
Yes. Have you been to other boards lately? Violence is A-OK in America but show off a little skin and BANNED.
Easton Martinez
He was the original Witchblade artist, wasn't he? Good times.
Jordan Hall
Did you ever think that BECAUSE of the Lois dying controversy that's why they decided to change this ridiculous art? Or, are you just looking for a comfy reason to be selectively outraged?
Cameron Howard
Keep raging, champ.
Josiah Rogers
Because they cover the women up and tone them down heavily while the men are kept shirtless and intact from their original designs. Which sends the message that only women and the LGBT can have the fanservice while men should eat shit. Apparently having both is problwmatic.
Parker Collins
i'm sick of seeing females wearing shorts on their swimsuit and males wearing a shirt on their swimsuit. Literally destroys the meaning of beach babes and beach hunks. Are people this afraid?
just look at that new fucking mass water balloon inflating device commercial. They seemed so afraid to show a female in a bathing suit without having shorts or a male in a bathing suit without a shirt. It completely fucking kills me inside, especially when some of those clothes probably aren't even nylon or polyester and will shrink in the wash/dryer (they could've gone swimming with those)
That's it? I was expecting them to make it more correct to current standards. You know, make every female character a whale or another race.
Matthew Reed
>the disease >putting effort how cute
Logan Bailey
Who fucking cares that outfit makes no sense.
Anthony Butler
Who fucking cares it's art.
Brandon Hughes
Yea Forums is always about whatever controversy is suitable for its agenda. Literally kept crying THIS IS TORTURE PORN THIS NOT ACCEPTABLE IN WALMART WHERE KIDS COULD SEE IT WHEN IT'S STOCKED NEXT TO TOYS OR WHATEVER when it was King's story, and now it's a complete 180 turn in logic abd arguments when you get to bitch and whine about SJWs censorship. Kids looking skimpy clad women is fine because my boner!
Christian Miller
what the fuck are you talking about? the two issues don't relate to each other at all, just cause they are Walmart books doesn't mean the topic is the same
Jose Hall
>the two issues don't relate to each other at all
In King's case Yea Forums was literally advocating censorship because the material was to them, too objectionable and shouldn't have ever been published because muh kids might see it. Now it's a full 180, Yea Forums crying how bad censorship in Wallmart books is. It's blatantly hypocritical.
Tyler Thompson
Yea Forums is not one person, look at this shitty thread
Caleb Young
>Yea Forums is not one person
But the pushed narrative in the threads was exactly like that. King is bad now so his story deserves censorship.
Asher Nguyen
no it isn't. it was that people hated Kings story. This is about a icon of comics being post-humanistly censored.
Anthony Sanders
>it was that people hated Kings story.
And they said the comic should have never been allowed to be published. That is censorship.
Jackson Clark
I despise everything about this comic
Oliver Foster
I guess I missed that cause I never read that comic. Was it seriously that "it shouldn't have been published" or rather "King shouldn't have been hired" King writes dark comics, so maybe he shouldn't have been hired in the first place for this? I am against censorship, but I am also against bad stories
Brayden Butler
Man, those days were people believed the CCA was dead...
Mason Bailey
People were saying the story should have never been allowed to see print because they falsely asserted the Wallmart comics were all ages books (even though the official launch press release stated the age demo be basically around teens of around 10-15 years or something like that) and tried to use "think of the children!" as the biggest argument why it was wrong to publish it in the first place because the comics are basically stocked among toys and little kids could see them.
I mean, this is Yea Forums. Censorship is fine on Yea Forums so long as its censoring writers that anons don't like.
Brody Rivera
the only thing you have to understand is that if it's not practical it's stupid
lots of things can be both stylish and practical
Jose Myers
Kys
Ayden Taylor
This is normal user, don't ever let anyone tell you being politically selfish is wrong. It's how we all are supposed to operate. Forced Altruism skews the country's real wants and needs.
Thomas Johnson
>He was more famous than Silvestri. now lets not get crazy. Silvestri was also a creator of Witchblade and was hugely famous for his X-men stuff
