I especially hate this because every major modern storyline with Betsy for over a decade involved her bodyswap and her conclusion was always that no, after the merge "Kwannon's" body felt hers and the only 'real' Betsy after all. Fuck character development am I right?

Body issues with Betsy are par for the course since she joined the X-Men in the mid 80's, it's never been expressed like this and was more about physical ineptitude and being a burden on the rest of the X-Men, since she couldn't defend herself.

I like this, it's a tad asinine since Betsy was a model in the 70's, but it at least answers why Betsy is Asian in this wish dimension and in general why she never has an expressed desire to go back into her old body.

I assume Betsy is going to the character they turn fat with Marvel's desire for a body positive character

When she talked about an eating disorder my head canon now says anorexia. It's flimsy since this has never been a factor in Betsy life but it fits at least with the modelling stint.

It is but it's their job in the constraints of the world. It's probably why I think it's the weakest one of the Age of X-Man books. The X-tremists have no idea what's happening. They're just following orders. They even have a pregnant mutant locked in chains in their basement since they never knew how to handle pregnant mutants in this world. They have barely tackled that issue btw. Even the Nightcrawler books knows that something is amiss.

this book is pretty fucked up but I like it
