I prefer Garfield Minus Garfield for the simplicity of its concept and it doesnt hammer you with "oooooh creepy Garfield".It's a more human horror, seing Jon Arbuckle seemingly battling depression and loneliness (also because it didnt treat Jim Davis like shit and that same Davis also like G-G like what's the point of doing "take that" to Davis,he's the least offensive man ever)

To me the difference is that Fatal Farm at least has talents that I can accept them taking jabs at Davis (and even then they kind admitted in an interview they kind of came to accept Garfield over the years). A LOT of other snarky internet humorists I've seen taking jabs at Davis, I don't feel have the talent to back it up.
I know it sounds borderline "critic must be a chef to criticize the cooking" but to me people going onto a board like this shitposting and taking jabs at Davis, that's okay. Professionals and alleged professionals taking snarking at Davis, that's when I look at the credentials card.

I really hate this shit, not for the shock imagery but because of the reasoning behind it. I loathe how disingenuous and slimy this is, you don't have the balls or creativity to make anything original so you just pick a popular franchise because that gets you exposure and you "subvert expectations" by making something creepy and edgy so people are shocked and Kotaku makes an article about you. It fucking reeks.
And this happens all the fucking time, concept artists make le creepy realistic 3D cartoon character because the standard procedure to getting any sort of exposure is using an established franchise, but you also have to "stand out" so what's more original than making a cartoon thing hyperrealistic and creepy?
It's insane how people just love it because they can't see how creatively bankrupt this is.

The actual funny one was the one where Garfield was still in frame, but his speech was removed. Because that's what's actually going on; Garfield "thinks," rather than speaks, and it's a lonely man talking to his cat. There's an actual joke there.
