We just skipped a month
Dumbing of Age
>campaign slogan is "that's a yep from me dawg"
Fuck this comic
Shortpacked! Robin plots really don't work in DoA.
What politician is she a stand-in for today? Not that it matters, since she'll just be someone else when she shows up again in a plotline that takes three years to get here.
First she was generic out-of-touch, gladhanding politician (which kinda felt like a low-key Clinton parody), then she was Trump, now she's sorta back to her original characterization. The problem with Robin is that Dave's never really dropped her presentation from Shortpacked!, which was very cartoonish with bits of Sarah Palin/Dubya.
Dont forget how shitty strips with Becky look without this weird transparent hair bullshit.
>can't see becky's right eye in the 5th panel.
He's finally learning.
Learning what? How to draw? or that side-cuts are the most retarded tumblr haircut of all time, and incredibly impractical.
I love Becky, she's my favorite character. NOT
It looks fine in panel 1 and 3, and could be fixed with a hair part in the rest. Her original hairstyle was the best, followed by the unused design that had her with an undercut quiff.
>skipped a month
That's enough time for every character in this strip to have gone through two break-up and rebound cycles and yet I bet nothing will have changed for anyone else in the meantime
>Jacob and Joyce will never break up because they're so concerned about how they think their parents will react that they sabotage themselves only for their families to push them back together
Becky is fucking trash. She's just a piece of shit, fuck her
That's not Roz, Ruth, or Malaya.
>side-cuts are the most retarded tumblr haircut of all time
THIS.
>tfw all the drawn porn that caters to my fetishes is filled with sidecuts now
That's lots of people in this dumpster fire
Why do we keep having this general if it keeps being deleted?
Because it's interesting to discuss the various ways in which Willis COULD have built an engaging narrative, but fucks it up so as not to trigger his fans
I know, but something about those three really bug me more than the others.
Because it's a comic and we're on Yea Forums.
why does it keep getting deleted?
Because there is a thread almost every day and this is a degenerate general that only repeats the same posts over and over again.
But that's just a theory.
You could say the same about QC threads and those still appear
Those also disappear regularly. They let themselves be archived. Instead of the guy who necrobumps us to keep the thread alive 24/7.
QC are actually rarer than you are making them out to be.
QC threads are daily unless a thread is still active when an update drops, the only time there isn't one is over the weekend when Jeph doesn't update.
QC threads have regular contentless bumps to keep the threads active. Half the current thread is "terrible" or "based" posting.
Dorothy's still Adorable!
Christ that politician is retarded.
Got me - we don't discuss /pol/ shit or rag in the comments section on Shortpacked's website any more
Damn shame, really - we had a nice community, and the constant deletions have thrown it all away
>not liking a webcomic is degeneracy
That's nice
So where are we on DOA time? The second week of Freshman year?
Second week of October, IIRC.
>that thread a little while ago that somehow managed to stay up for three days and saw several of the old crew coming out of the woodwork
This is why I keep saying that they should be just pushed into the same thread.
They are basically the same comic.
So a QC/Sinfest/DOA thread?
Sinfest has a delete-on-sight policy because those threads can't not derail into political discussion.
I like how it looks better once the artist stops tracing
I will never get over that stupid fucking haircut.
QC's gone back into its standard boringness since there is no "when will they fuck" pairings being focused on right now. DoA meanwhile looks to be starting up a completely retarded plotline, which is far more interesting than Tai and Dora possibly getting married or Faye possibly falling off the wagon.
>we don't discuss /pol/ shit
there have been a few days where DOA has a page about lesbians and then a bunch of trannies show up to whine that lesbians are oppressing them
They're definitely not thread regulars though, and when there's a Carla-centric page we get the reverse response
Did we seriously just skip a month? I honestly wouldn't put it past Willis to do so.
>Did we seriously just skip a month?
In real-world time, yes
In the comic, it's probably only a couple hours or a day at most.
It's the same day, Becky is wearing the same outfit.
That's still at least a couple weeks worth of comics skipped
Possibly not due to Willis preferring to skip over actual classes. Becky meeting Robin was contemporaneous to Joyce having lunch, which implies a time skip to Becky talking to Dorothy (since she says she's on break while her talking to Robin was at the start of her shift), and a timeskip to Becky being at the press conference. Assuming Becky worked an 11-7 shift then we're only looking at two or three hours skipped that are time periods Willis is inclined to depict. Also does he even have any on-going plots to skip?
>does he even have any on-going plots to skip?
have you been keeping track?
Ruth and Becky seem to be the main ones right now, followed by Lucy.
>Becky attempts to suffocate herself with a plastic bag to escape the Hell that is being in DoA
nah, it's more like Giorno used his stand power to turn her hair into a plastic bag.
>Becky, no! If you kill yourself, you just wake up in a worse version of your life! You don't want to live in a world where our shitposting about Dina "Sexual Tyrannosaurus" Saruyama is true. Your anus couldn't handle it!
>Dina "Sexual Tyrannosaurus" Saruyama
you've given me an idea for another commission
The whole Sal-Amber-Walky mess continues to slop along...
As long as you're not the guy into hyper my curiosity is piqued.
90% of the stuff that's in this comic would have been okay 10 years ago but seems absolutely retarded now, much like how Willis still lives his life like a recent late-20s college grad, but is instead now a nearly-40 ageing 30-something for whom college is a distant memory he is forced to relive due to his decision to make a comic about college
Willis intentionally wrote DoA because he wanted character drama he could shit out in his sleep. The college setting is simply there as a reason why everyone is together all the time.
Don't forget that DoA is confirmed to never move beyond the first year of college, because that's how long Willis lasted until dropping out!
My life probably would have been better if I had flunked out at the end of the first year like I thought I would. Instead I was there for more years than are reasonable (though this is commonplace, nowadays).
Even then we're still talking about another 12 years, assuming he skips the winter break?
Might as well throw in Homestuck.
The 4 horsemen of bad webcomics.
