>Thoughts on the upcoming CGI Rugrats?
Those character designs never meant to be in 3D

I'm so use to the Timbox posts that it took me a bit but it seems very real
Man why do they think 3d is going to work for this, it's going to be shit

The literal fuck?

There is no way that this will go over well.

Nickelodeon is dead

They were meant to be hideous in 2d, because babies are inherently ugly and gross.

But that brought to 3d... dios mio

we knew this was happening. why make a series that has an ugly, & charming art style, in to 3d they will either have to make it unfaithful to the original style or make it uggo.

>makes Rugrats 3D
>doesn't just adapt Reptar to be his own show while grabbing nostalgia attention
Reptar was always cool damnit, Rugrats ran its course and the video games proved it any 3D effort would be monstrous and ugly as fuck.

That said I have fond memories of Search For Reptar and Studio Tour

Why is everyone using CGI? Is it cheaper?

More expensive actually, but a lot faster.

Insanely so

it will probably look great. CGI is at a point where any style can be improved. look at the peanuts movie

Didn't we already know it was gonna be another CGI hybrid movie?

I wouldn't get my hopes up on Nick trying for anything stylized
at least Rugrats has been proven to work in 3D forms unlike Butch Hartman's work

Rugrats died to me the exact second they showed All Growed Up

Royal Ransom was unironically my jam

But this is deeply concerning news

I thought Nickelodeon decided that pandering to nostalgia wasn't a good move? Then what's stopping them from airing the Rocko and Zim movies?

it's been cleared for a 26 episode run and a movie as far as i know.

We truly live in the most cursed of timelines.

>more nostalgia
please stop

>Millenials can't draw, so they use software that makes everything look worse than if you were to just sit down and draw what you want made

it's not cheaper but as long as audiences buy tickets to see 3d over 2d the industry will lean towards 3d

That's disappointing. I guess you can't really control what the market wants.

Dude wtf for a moment I thought this was from cyber8.
