That's literally what happens to any movie. There's a pre-release hype, tons of threads, then some weeks after the movie comes out the hype passes and is redirected to the next big release.
It has nothing to do with it being a bad movie. In fact, bad movie threads tend to last longer than the "ok" movies that are just forgetable

It's not really "autistic". I think someone explained it better like this: movies are magic, and you'd be spoiling the performance if you explained the trick beforehand.
Pretending it doesn't matter sort of deflates the surprise and takes the punch out of the scenes.

There's a difference between an okay movie and a good movie, user. An okay movie is enjoyed in the moment, a good movie is both enjoyed and remembered.

I already wasn't a fan of the second GotG. I get that Ego is Peter's dad 90% percent of the time, but I like the king of Spartax way more.

Both Spiderverse and Infinity War were discussed for far longer than a month after their release. Wich is why I was suprised to see the Captain Marvel spam die in such a quick manner. I could totally live my whole life happy without seeing a fucking cosmicfag or Gunnfag ever again.

The cosmic bandwagon will keep going after GotG, and Gunnfags will move on to Suicide Squad.

But Cosmic Marvel is among the greatest things the publisher has. Well, not right now admittedly (and some of its staunch supporters truly tarnish the fandom), but overall they could make an entire saga of pure cosmic without relying on any of the other heroes ever again, and it would be excellent.
