Apparently Doug treats them very well and they kind of have to since at least Malcolm (the black dude) is a union actor, so they can't shit on him like they did the other CA spergs.

Now if they actually like Doug, I'm not sure, but what I do know is they also do other small acting jobs around the Chicago area.

Rick and Morty is just commodified nihilism. Every joke is caked in irony and nonsense with a cast that constantly reminds the audience that nothing makes sense because nothing matters. It also uses over-the-top sci-fi gags to avoid consequences. While it's one of the few things the show does in a new and interesting way (ie several universes are completely fucked by Rick for Rick and Morty to revisit) it still doesn't change the fact that the show cares so little about having heart that it once brutally killed its main characters just to prove to its audience that Rick and Morty are never really in danger.

I don't care how numb Rick is. I don't care how spineless Morty is. They both need to grow. Funny enough, Pickle Rick was probably one of the best episodes in the show because the ending actually showed a hint of self-awareness, even if that just manifested as a monologuing psychiatrist.

My issue with the show is how uneven it is. When it's on top it is great, but then you have some huge lowpoints like the madmax ripoff or the purge ripoff.

It's a sign of how little we make that is of any quality; we have to turn to shit that pretends to be smart, and for that we turn to an autist and a walking encyclopedia entry for "millennial."
