Was rewatching Captain America the 1st Avenger for Avengers: Endgame and my god, did I forget how Great this is. Easily the BEST MCU Phase 1 Film.

It really damn isn't, it's pretty boring in some aspects, though watching it in retrospective makes you see why Rogers is as big as a hero he is now, and you can clearly see the foreshadowing regarding Red Skull's fate. Other than that it's a bit iffy, saying it as someone who also rewatched it recently.
Now, Winter Soldier? Barely anything negative. What a behemoth of a movie, I'm surprised at how well it holds up.

You can say it's a bit of a weak arc since Steve got out of the hole himself and he wanted to do so first opportunity but it's there.

I can see why it was cut. The shots of Cap in the new world are cool but the cheesy flashback scenes and the Stan Lee cameo really don't add anything to the movie not already conveyed by the original scene with the punching bag.
What should have stayed in was the dossiers at the beginning. They really just whipped Peggy out of nowhere in Winter Soldier and that scene would have fit perfectly early on in that film.

My only problems are the two montages. The one where he's doing the shows all over the world was boring and the ones where he's taking down Nazi camps should've been actual scenes and not a montage.
