What did this get wrong about the Venom character?
What did this get wrong about the Venom character?
No Spiderman
I felt his change of mind came too fast, one minute Venom is telling Eddie how they are gonna fuck his planet up but he will be fine, next he wants to stay on earth.
Eddie and Venom being two different beings instead of the former being a worse version of the latter (not that i didn't like the change, we were never getting a true villain movie).
What did they get wrong?
Were too scared of doing a faithful Punisher adaption due to the current political climate in the US.
Also skimping on the makeup budget for Jigsaw.
He wasn't a one-dimensional autist like muh Ennis Punisher. He had more character like 80s Frank. A bloobloo
I don't care it was hot as fuck
fpbp. The character is meaningless as anything else than an "evil Spider-man"
He wasn't Thomas Jane
He didn't have a logo
I didn't read the comics and I loved this movie.
You comic nerds can go shove your comics up your ass and Huff glue.
horseshit. he may have premiered as a spider-man villain, but has since grown into his own separate thing. there's nothing wrong with the movie
And him?
Get off the board then, Yea Forumstard
Nobody has really said anything truly negative in the thread before your lazy post. Could you try using your brain for 5 seconds and read the thread before acting like an emotional autistic child screeching that everyone is wrong because you cant control yourself from being a worthless piece of shit.
That movie was just retarded all around
>Big ass organization sends all of their fucking supah secret evil shits through fucking email instead of regular files in a meeting
>Bad guy escaped from the truck and fuck around for months before coming back to the exact same place
>Sup guise, remember how we symbiote can only bond to a very speficifc host
>Never mind watch me jump from host to host to get back to Eddie
>HAR HAR EDDIE U NO NEED 2 TELL ME ANYTHING I AM LITERALLY IN UR HEAD
>Oh who is calling? Your ex? I didnt know you have an ex
>We are an alien race who came here to conquer your planet
>By the way we have this two very exploitable weakness, pls dont use it on me later on in the movie
>Venom is in the drive seat instead of Eddie
>Literally spent the whole movie doing fuck all
>Suddenly Venom is super attracted to Eddie and Earth for some reason
>The "symbiote give you literal cancer" plot is brought for no reason and doesnt get resolved
Height.
Also he didn't kill that one pedo enabler.
Not much,I think they kinda nailed the relationship between them.
The character itself is fine, the series was bering as fuck tho.
Nothing, he's exctly as annoying as in the comics.
>Suddenly Venom is super attracted to Eddie and Earth for some reason
He said that on his home planet that he's a nobody. Sounded to me that he wanted to be a big fish in a small pond
nigga stfu
>Billy Russo
So bad. Really don't understand why they dropped the ball on this one when something even half as close to pic related would've been enough.
>Also he didn't kill that one pedo enabler.
There were two, but I think making him one-dimensional to the point of absolutes wouldn't have been a good idea. They still torched his place.
Nothing wrong, aside from them specifically adapting Waypool which to me is his most annoying version, though unfortunately the most popular. Wish they had gone with Posehn/Duggan instead.
Nothing, Punisher has always been a shit character. People were just made that he didn't kill enough minorities for their tastes
The symbiote actually speaking with words. It's better when it just looks at Eddie while he babbles on like a crazy person
>Thomas Jane
My nigga.
They put all the crazy bits of Eddie's personality into the symbiote, but otherwise is a great adaptation of the character before they decided to go all edgy with him during the early 2000's.
Everything?
>Movie makes a great fuss about how symbiotes can't bond with just anyone and they have a hard time finding a match and even then people don't live very long.
>Villain with no regard for anyone's life bonds with some random old lady for months and flies over to evil corporation eventually and then ditches that body for no reason.
The director did go on record to say that thing with Riot was a plothole, though.
Venom is kinda different since he was bonded to that homeless lady for 7 days already with the less visible damage out of the other hosts.
The director did go on record to say that thing with Riot was a plothole, though.
Admitting that you didn't think very hard about your movie after the fact doesn't excuse you for the glaring error.
Unironically everything.
It's because the time that passed was supposed to be 1-2 weeks and not 6 months. Changing it to 6 months to not make it appear as if Eddie's ex-fiancee was cucking him already fucked up the timeline.
It was just boring all around with flimsy if any characterization, like a pre X-Men era comic book movie saved by the cgi, and even that got thrown out of the window for the final act, where you can't tell what the flying fuck is going on. Tom Hardy tries his best to carry it, Ahmed is just miscast all around, Michelle Williams is a great actress and pure sex on legs yet she picks this dumb ass role. Do actors just read "COMIC BOOK ROLE" on scripts and assume everything is the same and a guaranteed success?
Eddie felt like too much of a goofball idiot compared to comics Eddie. Other then that the character was fine. The movie itself was shit but they did Venom well.
>Movie makes a great fuss about how symbiotes can't bond with just anyone and they have a hard time finding a match and even then people don't live very long.
I thought that was just from human's perspective and actually the symbiotes were just being picky. The ones that perished were being fed periodically and suffered from the experiments. But then again, Venom also told him about the compatibility shit so i have no idea.
how many times did 80's Punisher give up the war to live a normal life?
fuck off
Nothing, which is hilarious. All the stupid shit had basis from the comics. Even the bit about Venom being a loser on his planet.
t. MCU dickriding faggot who has never read a Dixon issue
He had Ennis' stoic personality with completely OOC motivation and decision making.
Also I fucking hate this criticism of Ennis' work since he adds a ton of levity in the villains and allies.
>exagerating exclusively means character
It did Venom pretty well everything else was bad tho
Everything?
>Not much,I think they kinda nailed the relationship between them.
Thanks for confirming you've never read a comic with Venom in it in your entire life.
venom is an incel on klyntar but a giga-chad on earth
its basically the same thing as being a 6 foot tall white dude in china or japan
