You're right, and it would be risky considering the Bumblebee's small profit. But since Paramount is crazy for MCU money, i think they can arrange things by having the opening scene be the CGI Optimus telling how the war started.

War for Cybertron is an interesting storyline which could make for a good action movie, and you don't need expensive CGI when you're doing only robots and other inorganic stuff.

Bumblebee had a completely different opening sequence at first, but when TLK flopped, they decided to redo it completely so that Bumblebee can be called a reboot. By that point the movie was almost done, so they had to scramble.
In a lot of the interviews and behind the scenes material, they discuss how they chose to design all the Autobots and decepticons based on existing wire skeletons so they wouldn't have to remap anything, and could just make the model and immediately get to animating. Plus, you can tell how much they reuse the same few models for the decepticons (seekers).

It's the art style that turns people off. When people have translated DJW's designs into more typical Transformers aesthetics, they look utterly gorgeous.

It's worth noting that the Italian dub of Cyberverse initially had a male VA for Shadow Striker not realizing the character was female but fortunately changed it for later episodes.
And yet people act like they changed Beast Wars when they dubbed it.
It's not that Beast Wars wasn't comedic it's that the serious aspects of the show were severely undercut and downplayed.
Megatron was less of a charismatic manipulative magnificent bastard and more of a joke villain akin to Sunbow Megatron.

The use of “adorable” or its derivatives in a retort now reads in his voice for me.
They're not going to undercut a scene of that kind. BW Jap dub was full of silly stuff but they still had serious moments when stuff was getting pretty violent and dramatic. Prime dub made Airachnid silly, but at no point shyed away from what MECH was doing to Breakdown.

Being a lorefag who wants a figure of the character, I like how similar engineering indicates what type of race of Cybertronian they are.
Like cassettes. I like how there’s cat, bird, and robot cassettes, but don’t need each one to only exist for that character. For example I don’t want Rewind and Frenzy to literally just be repaints, but I like them having the same transformation and the fact there’s a bunch of robot cassettes is pretty cool. I like Frenzy and Rumble being repaints, since the characters are intended to look alike. Preferably a repaint at least has a different facial expression though.

He doesn’t see things in terms of a larger object, his brain interprets them as collections of shapes like how an artist draws. Wide empty spaces make him uncomfortable, so he keeps a few sculpted geometric shapes to focus on and calm his nerves. Given how the focus of a moon rover is at a downwards 45 degree angle and is for observing patterns and recognizable shapes and patterns, its a very fitting alt mode.
I got the gist of it, you want something like Animated did of several bots sharing body types but not being repaints.

I don't understand the size differences. Boss Borot and Mazinger should be roughly the same size yet Borot is the same size as Grimlock and Mazinger towers over the Transformers. Did they make Borot smaller or Mazinger bigger?

I think both, Fracture was the name Hasbro gave Crasher when they did a toy of her back in 2008 and he original name couldn't clear legal. And well, Crasher was a prominent henchwoman in Gobots, so it makes sense Shatter takes after both Crasher and Nightbird.
