What's the general consensus on Jimmy Neutron?

10 year old me found it pretty funny, but what did you guys think?

I still don't buy into those rumors that if this show got it's final season it was gonna start covering more dark subject matter

It's Jimmy fucking neutron. The only shows on Nick at the time that should ever come dark subject matter we're Danny Phantom and Last Airbender. I'm still pissed it's unknown if Danny Phantom's skitzoid episode structure was based on Butch being awful at writing action cartoons or Nick sticking it's dick where it didn't belong again

Bizarre how Planet Sheen was forbidden from directly referencing Jimmy Neutron. In any case, it was a show.

Had no right being as good as it was as a CGI television cartoon when it came out. A 6-7 show but still has some heart.

I watched it for the first time last month, and i liked it. It was pretty creative, and i liked all of the main cast.
I think that the weakest aspect was the recurring villains - they were all pretty forgettable, had really shitty gimmicks and were often really annoying.
Also, season 3 was unusual. It focused more on shipping, and had far more episodes based exclusively on pop culture references and parodies. I wouldn't call it "bad", but I didn't like it as much.

The visuals are obviously very dated, but designs are just wacky enough to still work. It doesn't hurt your eyes, like some other shows from that era.

Overall a solid show that, in my opinion, stood the test of time.

technically impressive as one of the first 3d shows and it was a total ghetto job with off the shelf software and speed modelling. as a show it suffered from jimmy carl and sheen unlikable personalities. Its greatest strength was the batshit insane plots the writers came up with that kids like me could obsess over for weeks after seeing the episodes. in later season it became less interesting, more parodies fewer insane plots, and with too many recurring minor characters for its own good. Hugh, goddard, Bobbi, bird teacher, were great. lost interest as danny phantom and avatar picked up. Absolutely a better show than fairly odd parents and mid run spongebob

Hot take

Jimmy and all the kids in Retroville got so sick of Sheen's shit that Jimmy purposely left his rocket out knowing full well Sheen would take it and crash land it on another planet hence why Jimmy and company are in literally no fucking hurry to actually go rescue Sheen

>Absolutely a better show than fairly odd parents
What did you think of the crossovers, user?
In my opinion, they were borderline unwathable

I did not hear you say "Big McThankies from McSpankies" to the customer.

My favorite line from that episode that no one on Yea Forums ever talks about is when Hugh starts singing about his passionate love for Mexican Food

>TACO SHACK TACO SHACK YOU'LL EAT CHEESE UNTIL YOU YACK

youtube.com/watch?v=MTg4fEbkayQ

it had its moments.
>Sheen: "Hey brobot, if we can't rescue your parents on time and they turn into gravidisks, can I have one?"
>Jimmy: "Sheen!"
>Sheen: "But they look so cool!"
>Brobot: (whispering to Carl): "I don't like Sheen."
>Carl: "Tell me about it."

surprisingly it still holds up pretty well

Someone on the storyboard team for this show really fucking hated Nick

Like Nick went from a fucking Chad to a fucking Virgin transitioning from the movie to the TV series

Cindy doesn't even take romantic interest in Nick anymore

During the body switch episode when they dump their brains into the machine to put their minds in the right place Sheen erases the fact that Jimmy and Cindy dislike each other because that memory was to confusing to give either one.

Canonically you're not wrong in that regard but then again you could make the argument that Cindy was just a Tsundere

The show is more charming than the movie, all of the characters felt very one note in that. Animation aged like milk but that's to be expected.
Sheen wasn't even that bad of a person, he was just a loud spaz that liked Ultra Lord too much. Interplanetary exile is not justified

I watched it all the time as a kid and would like to rewatch it, but then again I absolutely despise early 00s CGI with a passion with only very few exceptions.
Is the writing really good enough to overlook the bad graphics?

Hugh steals every scene he's in and makes the show worth watching for him alone.

I'm holding out for a 1080p release

Apparently, it was Butch who was the weakest link in the series. He had a good concept and came up with the ideas and characters but ultimately it was his writers that made the more better received episodes.

Hugh Neutron is still the greatest cartoon dad ever

It's kind of funny how Americans really use the tsundere trope a lot more than the japanese. And even when the japanese use it I still think they kinda suck due to their reliance on Slapstick

Blame characters like Asuna and Shana being the main inspiration for how today's Tsunderes are written.

*Asuka

Didn't Jimmy's VA say there was something new coming?

All I know is that she voices Helpy on Tigtone now.

Still good watched it last year

HURR DURR SANTA ISN'T REAL CAUSE SCIENCE!

I loved it as a kid and still do. Extremely impressive CGI for early 2000's TV animation, never got why people say it looks bad. Great character design and writing. Very funny show, only surpassed by early SpongeBob

i always hated that fucking show and to this day i think is a rip off of dexter

Brainbump!

On that note, I always thought it was silly that they kept bringing this "catchphrase" back only out of sheer obligation.
