How would you go about revitalizing GI Joe as a franchise? Sigma 6 and Renegades both bombed and it seems like Hasbro's given up.
It's the reason we have the term "action figure", kicked off the comic/cartoon tie-in boom of the 80's, but have become such a non-entity to the extent that Hasbro doesn't even have a page for them on their website. Every story that pairs them with the Transformers just turns into nostalgia-bait that usually favors the Transformers.

Renegades was the reboot it needed people always complain GO joe is to America fuck yeah but renegades flipped the script the joes were the terroists bad cobra was a corporation controlling America

I wouldn't. It's so deeply rooted in a very particular part of American history that any attempt to revitalize it would basically end with a completely different show

kinda fuse it with the command and conquer franchise, which could probably be bought with two pennies by now

Have Hasbro lose the Marvel or Star Wars licenses, forcing them to remember they can make GI Joe toys.

Change the culture so that GI Joe toys and cartoons can exist without retards REEEEEEing about it, and without the media and entertainment industry being controlled by of that kind of retard.

Not sure how either of those things would be possible.

This.

G.I.Joe reboots next year with Snake Eyes movie.

The licenses for those two expire when again? Because I feel like Hasbro will certainly renew the Marvel license at least.

As for the second, that'll probably never happen unless SJW and PC culture does some tremendous fuck up that they can't fix and make people not want to kill them en masse

>The licenses for those two expire when again? Because I feel like Hasbro will certainly renew the Marvel license at least.

Hasbro got the Star Wars license by buying Kenner, who had it since the original movie. There's more change of Episode 9 bombing hard enough to kill the toys than Hasbro losing the license. And that's unlikely.

Hasbro have had the Marvel license since 2007, not sure when that's up for renewal, but I don't really want Marvel Legends to end.

> As for the second, that'll probably never happen unless SJW and PC culture does some tremendous fuck up that they can't fix and make people not want to kill them en masse

A majority of people already seem to hate them and be sick of everything they do. The audience is there, it's just that these people are in positions where they can block any alternative entertainment from getting a chance, and they only recruit more of their own, making it impossible to get rid of them.

I would turn Gijoe as a research adventure team instead of the army, like sets from LEGO
and mix it with spy thing

Do another Renegades.

Spy movies, heist team movies, action movies, one-man-army movies are still popular, G.I. Joe could be all or any of those. Studios are unwilling to do action cartoons but if you just make a badass action movie it should be easy. NO FUCKING SCI-FI SHIT OR POWER ARMOR OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT

Cyberpunk G.I. Joe sounds cool.

You don't. Some things simply can't be revived. It's a dead franchise and that will NEVER change no matter what. LET IT GO.

You're delusional. That's not what G.I. Joe is and you know it. It bombed for a reason.

Renegades was pretty good but changes a lot from the franchise. I don't get the "GI Joe is dead" when we have a lot of media that glorifies the military especially in movies and games and people still eat it up. If you can update comic characters made in the 40's into modern stories than don't tell me you can't do the same for characters that were made in the 80's.

Mentioning Lego hits on an important point for the toys. The vehicles and playsets need to be sold as things you assemble yourself, not pre-made like they were with the toys in the 2000s.

>LET IT GO.

Never.

bring back Serpentor

Do it as a work place comedy drama about Cobra

How about this.
>Africa and the Middle East are in turmoil
>Warlords and militants are waging civil wars and deposing the rightful leaders of their countries
>Civilians are caught in the crossfire and either killed or pressed into service
>These groups are secretly funded by american politicians who are part of a secret society/cult bent on world domination
>Though they go by different names and operate in different theaters, the funded groups are all heads connected to the same body
>Cobra
>Meanwhile the western countries are under attack on the cultural front, with Cobra-aligned media networks indoctrinating civilians into weakening their societies and militaries
>The evil politicians make a bid for power
>Fed up, the people of the united states elect a maverick president
>Faced with obstacles by the deep state, the president forms an undercover team of specialists codenamed G.I. Joe
>Their mission is to destroy Cobra

Probably not worth trying it since Hasbro will probably just interfere and ruin it.

Forget the kiddie toy line and continue with Resolute. Yeah it was only and hour but damn it was better than anything we got recently.

Larry Hamma is a fucking samurai.

A porn spinoff centered on the Baroness.

I liked Renegades. I wish it got another season.

They tried that.

This, I suggest.

I do too.

>They tried that.

Not vehicles made out of not-Lego, just make them as snap-together kits like back in the 1980s.

Take a page from Rise of Cobra and make it an international team comprised of people from all around the world.

Copy Call of Duty and Metal Gear. Ditch some of the lamer Joes and make new ones instead of pretending modern kids think Duke is cool. Keep Snake Eyes, Beachhead, and a handful of others but don’t feel strung to the ARAH series. RREmember, the 80s series was itself a reboot to be more relavent to the 80s, so why try to catch lightning in a bottle again? That said, keep Cobra, but give us other villain factions.

A spiritually faithful reboot of Extreme would be nice. And that includes the body style and shading in the cartoon. CalArts and soccer moms can take an acid bath.
