what's up, i'm gonna hang out until game of thrones time
how are we doing
Easter is a thing that some people celebrate I guess
Passover is where its at though, story could be adapted to comics
did this writer do anything else worth checking out
Awesome.
Could only lurk last night cause place I was at was range banned.
oh hey did anyone point out this was a Karen Berger joint?
Yuppies from Hell sounds good
postan serenity but will monitor this thread
Sweet!
Forgot Easter was another Serenity day
I love this recurring page in this comic
low key we should check out the Barbie comics and Sweet XVI which is a title i both love and hate.
That reminds me I think we were gonna read some vintage Gen13 T&A some time
Oh hey, it's that weird kids-comic-that's-not-even-close-to-appropriate-for-kids.
99% sure Kitty Pryde also had this outfit
It is! It's pretty good! Absolute goldmine for reaction images, although you've already missed all the good ones about cocaine.
Yuppies From Hell was... interesting. I don't know if I'd call it "well written", but it's an amusing "time capsule" sort of thing. It literally only could have been made in the 80s, so whether or not you'll enjoy it depends on what you think about "ONLY in the 80s" type stuff in media.
having lived through the 80s, I do enjoy it
Wait... what's the point of this, anyway? Is the writing decent? No, is the art good? No, is the premise enjoyable? No, except for memers that is. But really, is there any good reason to storytime this thing? It sucks anus!
Gen13 is the best franchise of the 90s and deserves respect all their comics are fun besides Claremonts, X-fags are dumb for liking that old hack
Gen13, like all other 90s Image comics, is GARBAGE.
no u
I see we're in for a spirited round of debate tonight!
Fuck off, Linkara.
who even wrote gen13? i just remember the artists
Brandon Choi and then Arcudi IIRC
no u
Hello, Storyteller.
How well did Angel Love do anyway? Can't imagine it sold well, since nobody but us lot has heard of it. Damn shame.
I think it pretty much tanked but it's one of those hidden gems a few people remember fondly
Claremont always sucked... and so did Gen13.
where'd Brandon Choi go
h8rs finna h8
I have no clue.
Maybe someday Jonathan Ross will do a doc on it.
omg, this is too real
No surprise there. Anything that isn't capeshit tends to do poorly. It's like variety is almost outright punished.
Too weird to not get back out there
It wasn't quite that bad back then, I mean stuff like this lead to Vertigo (thank you Karen Berger!)
This one just is really bizarre and has horrible cover appeal, I mean basically any type of person who would be in a comic shop or even just looking at racks at the store would have no interest in this based on the cover. If you didn't have someone to tell you this was actually good, I can't imagine anyone picking it up, even if they were into non-capes or even indies.
Not all that different from Prez, really
he literately disappeared sans the Deathblow short in the Wildstorm anniversary
"don't even THINK of parking here" signs are a mainstay in parts of NYC
yeah this fits in with the rest of the 80s indie boom fairly well. It's just badly advertised and put out by DC and not a company that died in the 90s
Agreed. This shit is just as awful as Prez.
so how are you owls tonight?
Pretty good.
Hows about you OP?
Pretty much every company has a bad habit of failing to properly advertise any of their products that isn't their heavy hitters. The more things change...
Fine. Suddenly find myself interested in Monster Hunter, but also wishing their was a sci-fi equivalent.
You?
kinda tired, trying to get the energy for a project tomorrow
lazy, been eating ice cream and watching cartoons and reading comics
mmm, ice cream, that sounds good
You could try Lost Planet but it's not quite as good
>tfw blue bell is too fattening for current diet
central market lemon rosemary shortbread
Can you not talk about fucking videogames for a single goddamn minute? Holy shit.
Lost Planet has mechs, too. But yeah, I've heard mixed things at best.
With how successful MH World was, I'm surprised it has yet to enter the flood of imitators phase.
Issue 6? The hell? I thought last storytime was Wednesday.
I was at a dinner party the other day with some Hollywood people and they asked me about my interests in movies/shows/books it was really awkward
we were on last night, sorry
1987, damn
Cool and Jeff sound like the best art team ever.
As well, nothing to be worth getting angry over.
>87
Fuck, I wasn't even born yet. And the Berlin Wall still existed.
>gay rights
And the AIDS crisis was still in full swing. ... This comic really is low key dark as fuck.
it's a whole lot of adult themes!
user, that's a load of crap, this kind of weird self indulgent urbanism has always enjoyed modest success in the direct market, and probably never expected to move huge numbers anyways.
Have you ever turned on an artist over time?
I really like Richard Case's late 80s/90s stuff, but he got really lazy by the time he did Hunter: The Age of Magic (which actually took place in Gemworld for a bit)
His stuff got really stiff and uninspired
Feeling unwell.Hot, uncomfortable, indesgestive. Altogether lousy.
man I am so liberated right now by 1) having given up on GRRM years ago 2) not watching TV
THANKS FOR READING BACK TOMORROW
She is going to end up marrying this homeless wino.
lol yeah it's so cool being a hipster
Thanks for posting as always, Storyteller.
>even the seemingly good politicians likely have some skeezy secret
In case you hadn't had your full dose of real for a few pages. Yeesh.
Giving up is also what GRRM did. Giving up on writing.
Thanks for running OP.
Long way to the top, if you wanna politically rock and roll.
I used to be a huge Gary Frank fan and have a Hulk sketch from him and just can't stand him being so serious in DC books
we'll get an ending! I've got hope!!
the show i'm just enjoying the spectacle of it. gonna be a big ass battle
