This show is total fucking shit. I'm embarrassed for ever being amused by this cartoon, it's fucking trash and I hate it now. The good episodes seem like a lifetime ago.

We know
We have this thread about 5 times a day
The show ended with battle for Mewni
Ive i ever get cancer and i throw my life away kiling one person nefcy is at the top of my hitlist
>bawww I want boy in dress back :(
fuck off trapfag, kys
>good episodes
LMAO
Why do people like this show again?
Can we be done with getting mad about a show not being what we wanted? I understand you guys are upset but the group of you who wont stop raging need to fucking take a breath.
OP: Wah wah look at me making all these threads for something I hate wanting people to comment so I feel something in my worthless life! Fuck off
Collateral Damage is the best episode of the entire series.
Deforming this once great show into the shipping cancer shitfest its become is a crime that should be punishable by death in my eyes
the first part of getting better is acceptance
>this once great show
Cornonation destroyed my spirit
I'm putting everything I have, all my hopes and dreams for this show, into Mina
We already had this thread today user
Star is a nudist
They're in SoCal. Marco would've just taken Star to the nearest abortion clinic.
but it's a septarian fetus
I can accept this. Jackie heard Star flip out and told Marco she was lesbians with Janna during the summer. Marco becomes Star's sexual lover. His cape is a real cape. The end.
But you have to admit their mouth shapes are pretty decent.
God I want to impregnate Marco boypussy so hard
Every time.
besides, abortion wouldn't unrape Star or make Marco unsee the rape.
>the show is shit
and Yea Forums still keep discussing on that shit.
There are some interesting ideas, also some of us are kind of invested in seeing where things end up.
Just like Gravity Falls
>Where'd the hairy lady go?
>I dunno
>I dunno
Just like Steven Universe
When the fuck are they gonna address Star becoming the new-creator of magic or whatever the fuck happened?
>thank god for my reefer, man
Never. We're getting a happily-ever-after ending with no consequences and dangling plot threads.
This. It was a good show. Everything after Battle for Mewni has been Cotugno's STD-induced fever dream.
God this season ruined this show forever.
I wish someone would take seasons 3 & 4 and re-cut them into one coherent final season, but I don’t know if there’s enough salvageable story in there.
Ok who did this
i want to bone eclipsa so i like all her screentime this season desu
So that's...Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, this, and probably a couple I'm forgetting. Who the shit keeps saying this is a golden age of cartoons?
I don't think anyone over 12 is saying that. This is a dark age of cartoons. Traditional animation is essentially dead as a medium in the West and writers are not capable of subtlety in their writing.
Literally just Battle for Mewni was the only good thing in seasons 3 and 4. It was all downhill after. No good villains left, except for the ones the show wanted to turn into heroes for monster-racism-allegory reasons. Kellco was cute while it lasted, but if they were gonna discard it so quickly they may as well not have bothered with it. Just take a clip of the inevitable Starco love confession and kiss from the series finale, and attach that to the end of Battle for Mewni, and you will pretty much have what Nefcy intended. Nefcy admitted she never expected Disney to renew the show for a season 3 in this interview:
youtube.com
Her original plan was to convince the execs to let her make a Battle for Mewni TV movie to conclude the series. Then when they surprised her by renewing the show, she had to make shit up on the spot. She probably delegated a lot of it to her underlings like Cotugno since she already blew her creative load with Battle for Mewni.
>I don't think anyone over 12 is saying that.
Then someone isn't banning enough posters here, cuz I see this bullshit every week.
Star Vs was never great, it was decent and ranges from bad to decent currently.
The real problem with the show has and always will be the writers obsession with pushing unnecessary relationship drama.
Go back in time and convince pic related to take up the mantle.
>Wanting svstfoe to be SMT for kids
Or Cotugno has blackmail on Nefcy and now Nefcy's original vision will never be shown, lest she falls the fall of Snyderfalls.
>blew her creative load with Battle for Mewni
Which is a shame because there were many more interesting stories to tell. Almost anyone in these threads could come up with a more compelling plot and satisfying finale than what we're getting.
Not me I just wanted Star to have sex with me but then she turned out to be a cunt.
If they were done with the story they should have just made stand-alone episodes of Star and Marco slice of life and adventure episodes.
Why does it feel like any half autistic retard from here could have done a better job?
>Why does it feel like any half autistic retard from here could have done a better job?
Because they could. Slice of life/multiverse adventures would have been ok.
Add a smash logo
Glossaryck did suggest that it was a mistake for Star to do that, so the writers haven't actually forgotten about it.
Though they probably have no idea how to actually address it so they'll just brush it aside.
You're trying too hard
It's almost like Yea Forums is a board made up of tons of different people with tons of different ideas
he's probably from a hivemind board, it's a foreign concept too some.
Oh fuck off.
>he thinks I think the 90's are any better
That's the frustrating part. There are lots of little hints which ppint to something awesome but it turns to shit. Eclipsa literally reading minds is a great example. Her ability to subtly manipulate people made her dangerous and unpredictable but now she's just thoughtless.
Yes user, you believe that.
I hate how boards like Yea Forums shit on sites like reddit, yet then immediately have a temper tantrum whenever anyone has a dissenting opinion
Lol. The 90s are the reason we're in this mess.
You subhumans shouldn't be allowed to talk about an industry you know nothing about
When exactly was tv animation at it’s peak then?
Cotugno is a hellspawn. This tactic is basically the Rowling method of introducing absolutely horrifying things to a young audience that can't quite fathom it, so that when the time comes around to actually confront these horrors they'll just think of it as benign and harmless. Classical conditioning of a passive non-response. Like a mobile with knives dangling from it.
Whats wrong OP? Is it mayhaps because....your cute n perfect ship is no longer? Someone sounds like they need a nap
It was actually the 90s, he doesn't know what he's talking about
>Creators had the more control than at any other point in the industries history (as opposed to the executive driven 80s or the studio driven system of today)
>A massive variety of styles and genres
>Animation purely for adults was a viable market in the west for the first time since theatrical cartoons
>Smooth, full animation with high quality art was the standard rather than something you got in small intervals at best
>A lot more of the production was done in-house than before or after
>The rise of digital ink and paint allows for much richer color palettes, better shading, and more elaborate effects animation
>Less censorship meant shows could get away with shit that you could previously only get from anime
ect
Yeah I would smash her
Him. That's a boy.
This show just meanders around, doesn't it?
Nope, the show specifically refers to the messenger imp as a girl.
It always has to an extent, but that's because it started out as mixing wacky slice of life adventures with escalating villain threat in the handful of "serious" episodes.
But seasons 3-4 pretty much dropped the slice of life adventures entirely and yet the show has actually gotten LESS focused in the process.
Bullshit. tumblrcunt posts don't count.
Pretty sure she a green cow monster not a imp
shes a semen demon
I'd be more embarrassed that you keep posting this same thing over and over again.
it's never going to change user, get over it, get over yourself, and move on with your life.
not best girl, slime girl
Yeah semen
What is this? A image for ANTS?!
It's an object I would fuck; it's 'gender' is irrelevant.
Fuck shipping completely. This show went straight to hell the moment it considered that a thing.
so, spisode 1 then
Can someone post the unedited version; where the 'slime' on her face is white?
Nefcy won agaisnt the mouse to give her more freedom.
But she lost with her own crew and starter to shit the bed but she didn't saw anything wrong with it.
If her dream cartoon that was about an autistic girl without magic was changed, the same could have happened later, i'm sure she's better than this.
Just like Adventure Time
The worst part about season 4 is how its not longer about Star or Marco. Its the Eclipsa/Globgor show. Cornonation confirms that everyone has been cucked and relegated to the side to allow Eclipsa to get everything- her love, her family, and the kingdom, while star gets...nothing. There's been literally nothing in the show to this point to establish an alternate path for Star. Shes the Queen who will keep the lights on. So why is she gonna get epilogued back to Echo Creek, probably with Tom in tow to keep the cuckery going forever?
I have negative faith in any satisfactory ending coming with Loveberry of all people as final boss. Unless they pull a Mignola and bring back Toffee in some complete asspull way.
they’re both cute desu
Of all the problems the show has now, I think the worst is how painfully unfunny it is now. At best there is one single good joke or gag every 5 episodes, but even then something like poor timing weakens it.
I rewatched an episode of The Looney Tunes Show a bit after watching the past 4 half hours of Star VS and it's incredibly jarring how dull Star can be. This show doesnt even make me smile anymore.
What’s with all these retards pretending they know what’s going on with this show’s production? ez pz go away
>tfw we'll never have anything like HBO's Spawn again
I always hated this shitty ass show but then the main character started to suffer and I wanted to see more of her misery, but now that the suffering stopped it has nothing going for it
What’s with the staff defending their show on Yea Forums? sabrina pls go away
Isn't Castlevania pretty much equivalent to that?
Hard reach
Looks like Judacris' work.
Mega?
I unironically hated S1 and loved both S2 and S3. Season 4 somehow manages to be doing a lot of the things I wanted to see, but is missing a lot of the magic that made S2 and S3 feel tense and like things actually matter. Coronation should have been one of the best episodes of the series, but it's more on par with that first St. Olga's episode.
>defending
so you are admitting you make this shit up and are actually delusional enough to believe the writers would defend themselves from your autism?
Wow you have terrible taste.
I enjoy comfy slice of life when it's done well, like in Summer Camp Island. Star vs. the Forces of Evil was a lame and boring slice of life show. Lore and shipping saved it. Deal with it.
Is that why the shows ending now, that it’s saved.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who's hopped on the SCI train. It's going to be an uphill battle being able to post on Yea Forums once the second half of the first season comes out, but I'm sure the rest of the board, except the edgy posters, will come around to it.
Season 3 was mediocre, even season 1 autistic Star in cocaine was amusing
nice reading comprehension
I said that Star started with nothing worthwhile, improved dramatically in S2 and S3, and has been fucking things up in S4
soon
Remember these threads? Remember the magic fun we had with SvtFoE threads?
Pepperidge Farms remembers.
Oh Daron.
What did you do?
yeah I do. now it's *just* filled with bitching and moaning. much like certain discord servers. wheee...
I'm not going anywhere nigger, you can keep seething with my existence while i still complain about the show, i hope you are here in the finale where everyone will shit on it non-stop so it can be finally forgotten.
The show is shit but so is your weird little fan fiction about how shows are ran.
I don't watch the show but am always slightly interested in the drama. What happened this time, more shipping shit or more racism shit?
Pepperidge Farms can go FUCK themselves.
>I don't think anyone over 12 is saying that
Only guys in their late 20s, early 30s are saying that. The industry is becoming endogamic, producing cartoons for a very specific demographic.
racism shit
this week on Star vs. the Forces of Evil: Globvore cures racism, and Racismbulus is LITERALLY HITLER
Glossaryck says many things. Remember when he spent an entire season warning Star and friends about Globgor by repeating his name like a retard? The writers don't
reactionary youtube fuckboys latching onto anything to bitch about and thinking they know shit like always. there probably surprised there isn't a horde of posters sucking there dick like on their home board.
The only fans left are tumblr and Yea Forums. While Cotugno only cares for tumblr opinion (by the way, they fucking love Eclipsa vs The Forces of Bigotry), maybe some animators come to Yea Forums just to shitpost or even genuinely want to face the evil alt-righters that aren't accepting this progressive cartoon so important on the Trump era.
Why?
Marco's role turned out to only prepare Star and Tom to get together. And save Star from being killed by a harpoon or going fully retarded in the Realm of Magic, and do what Tom can't do.
Why did they bother with him as a male protagonist to begin with??
The show just became Star, Tom and Eclipsa's family vs the Forces of Evil, Marco is leaving Earth to eat 50 Tacoooooos.
>latest few episodes
Tomco city now
>DROP OUUUUUUUUUUUUT OF LIIIIIFE WITH BOOOOOOONG IIIIIIIIINNN HAAAAAAAAAAAND
the king couldn't handle the news so he got permanently high
tom and marco should've been switched here
Everywhere else is just circle jerking how progressive it is. Let us have this
What did I miss? How did Kellco suddenly break up? Did that shit happen off screen or do I suffer from terminal short term memory loss?
I MISS DITZY STAR SO MUCH
Off screen. Had to make room fur Starco "surprise" hookup during the finale.
Why does this show have so fucking many filler episodes in its final season
dont you wanna see more tom???
It was so shit and insignificant that it wasn't even worth giving it screen time for a proper, amicable resolution. despite wasting an 11 minute episode on the setup. Truly, the chinese-knockoff of Jarco to the core, which makes one question... why even bother in the first place?
Just go watch it on kimcartoon
I do, but that’s because Tom is cuter than Star.
I liked the first season. It was a very different show back then.
Nope, I want the show to go back to having the two main characters be the main focus.
why do people pretend to like the shitty first season that was 95% boring filler that didnt develop the characters or progress the plot
She's grown up now.
there are also people on this board who unironically think Milo Murphy's Law is better than Phineas and Ferb
>fanfic
Yeah, Sabrina saying Tom being a monster with a walking privilege was a coincidence.
and that's good.
The first season (or just the first half of it) was just as shallow in hindsight, but it was at least funny and visually interesting. There were character dynamics that had a semblance of potential. As a fish out of water story, there was a point to the awkwardness.
It's clear now there was never any larger plan. But there was the illusion of one back then.
Pretty much.
I'm already setting for Tom and Star to move to Earth just to dick around with Marco some more.
The Future Beach Buddies Photo will change to Tomstar because screw destiny! Look what happened to the Blood Moon.
Marco will be alright after he eats 50 Tacos, and goes in a gay relationship with Ferguson because he foreshadowed it with Taco Tuesday in School Spirit.
This ain't your blog and your opinions suck
Because
>there were actually villains of varying degrees of competence (local harmless ones like Brittney, slightly more threatening otherworldy ones like Ludo, and ominous ones like Toffee)
>kept it simple, Star was just trying to learn and become a better person and fit for being a queen, none of this racism is bad drumpf btfo diversity is our strength shit the new seasons are pushing
>the shipping was only eluded to, outside of blood moon ball it was never really a driving force of a plot
>the animation was better
>action sequences in every episode
>the Yea Forums harems were focused around cute homely girls like hope, sabrina, chantelle, etc, not MUH THIDD XD BABY KILLER MONSTER GIRL FETISH HEKAPOO or those other post-s1 mutants
Honestly, Not anymore.
It was fine back then, we had to content with love drama extreme in S3, and that they were building a legit relationship. But now, it just watered down Star and Marco's whole dynamic, to the point where they had to make big moments for them every five segments, than forget about it.
The last moments of the show should be about the MAIN PROTAGONISTS!
I'm just tired of the crew making one character feels like eye candy or plain worthless to make another feel good and developed! You developed Tom over and over and you've hadn't enough!
i miss crackhead Star so badly
i hope she can cut loose a bit more when she gets off that shithole Mewni
>villains
all boring as fuck
>kept it simple
more like simple for little children and star did not develop as a character even 1 nonce. even jew political messages are more entertaining than baby tier stories
>shipping
it was either shipping or sterile shit
>animation was better
pure delusion
>action
ok fag
>harems
kys senpai
The entire "murderous mewman eating warlord became a vegetarian when he met me" thing was so stupid it COULDN'T be bad writing. There had to be some payoff involving Eclipsa being a retard for buying it. But no, it was just shit writing. Fuck this show, and fuck any of us who gave Nefcy more credit than she deserved.
Very low effort reply, mate. Not even worthy of a yikes, let alone an oof.
I seriously refuse to believe the current season of Star Vs. is where Daron intended to take the show. It just doesn't mesh with anything.
Something sinister must have happened behind the scenes.
>finally bring hot monster husband and qute queen together
>next episodes will be about the teenage fucking shits again
I know what you mean. I'll give a localized example: the recent dragon cycle episode where they out of nowhere break up Marco and Kelly offscreen, follow it up with another scene where Kelly is unusually bitchy to Marco for some reason, and then the rest of the episode goes on like this never even happened.
I almost think someone upstairs at Disney heard about the "break up buddies" thing, thought it was referring to fuck buddies, and brought the hammer down while they were midway through producing that episode and forced them to kill it off immediately.
That, or Nefcy just really is shit at writing.
Never attribute to malice what you ca attribute to stupidity.
...The first time
In the same episode they teased two dudes for being ‘lovebirds’, so i’m assuming it was just in service of more dumb shipping intrigue shit.
The Monster and the Queen and Cornonation was pretty much all about them, and large chunk of the episodes before that had a strong Eclipsa focus. Oh but don't worry the show's boner for Eclipsa will make sure she's not out of the picture for long guaranteed.
Another weird thing
>Hekapoo in the dragon cycle is chill and likable as fuck
Literally next episode
>GRRAAARRR JOBgor get back in your cuck crystal or I'm going to BURN YOUR BABY ALIVE
Like literally what the fuck? This is some Adventure Time esque "too many cooks spoiling the broth" where the showrunner should be stepping in to quality control this shit instead of letting their employees run their life's work into the ground. I honestly think Nefcy is checked out. Maybe as early as them changing the SvTFOE concept from autistic girl playing pretend to actual alien princess.
It's really weird honestly, we know Star is basically Nefcy self-insert, why would she make her like a side character in her own story and more about Eclipsa, did she just changed who to self insert with.
Regardless of the cause, I feel this is on Nefcy's shoulders. I don't feel good placing all the blame on her, but she is the showrunner. She's the captain of the ship.
If she didn't have any of this planned out, it's on her. If she was too weak to rein in her storyboarders, that's on her too.
>I almost think someone upstairs at Disney heard about the "break up buddies" thing,
I think it was someone downstairs. When Disney execs meddle it's not for something like this, it's to add generic shit they consider part of The Formula.
The most likely culprit are the boarders.
But Daron Nefcy isn't stupid at all. She is however a cuckqueening scandal away from losing her job so it's quite feasible her borders have mutinied and decided to run the show themselves.
How else do you explain Eclipsa becoming chief protagonist while Star - literally Daron's baby - gets shafted? The only other explanation I can think of is that Daron is going to surprise us with her original pitch in the end and make Star an ordinary but deranged girl.
Hekapoo can both be chill and hate monster guts. She fought alongside Solaria against the hordes of monsters, we already knew about her prejudice towards Eclipsa and her family. But you're right, she's too "likable" to be an antagonist so they made sure she came out of Cornonation completely innocent. They completely skipped over doing something interesting with her character because the Hekapoo fans would throw a fit.
If is true then she's as much a victim as the rest of us.
Her own degeneracy was her undoing. That and the revolting cannibalism of the industry.
I still can't believe they're having Tom and Star as a couple for the majority of the series, when his first appearance was literally attempted date rape.
The one and only reason I'm still watching this trainwreck is to learn what is Star and Marco's favourite Love Sentence song. If they drop/forget about it like with most other things then I'll fucking riot.
It's "Cucking isn't for Chickens"
the superior ship is tomarco and i'm glad it's getting lots of screen time their chemistry is litty
I'm telling you right now you'll never hear that, but you WILL get to hear Eclipsa play guitar at least three (3) more times.
You better believe it.
They took the thing he counted on and made it about true love, then jerked it into the forced destiny curse crap after they romanticized him building the carriage for Star for said curse, then made it an allegory about "Love between best friends is only a curse and you should break it so you can stay just friends".
Did everybody just forgot "Dating your best friend is the best!". God Please.
Remember last week when the MHC summoned Eclipsa to talk about ancient magic spells being used in the monster temple and Eclipsa said she didn’t know what they were talking about? Did that ever get addressed? Was that the anti-crystal spell or the go inside Globgor’s mind spell? Or something else and we’re just going to ignore it?
>laugh at tomco fags because lolnever
>mfw these episodes make it plausible
hold me anons
disney wouldn't pull the trigger would they?
They keep Tom around because he's a shit boyfriend and they want to scare little girls watching this show from heterosexual relationships.
Nefcy better not get another show for as long as she lives. Her career needs to be over.
Better find and release her cuck porn tapes then. Disney will fire her and then she can bring down the fucking boarders with her, everyone wins.
Only if Rebecca Sugar is taken out at the same time. I prefer her to be first, though.
I think it was implied to be Mina, but that just raises the question of how she can use magic in the first place since she's never had the wand.
>we can only hope the rapist was sterile
i laugh every time.
It's disgusting how some of the storyboarders and one of the directors are such fucking Tom fangirls, and apparently Nefcy does nothing to rein them in
She sure is!
Nefcy needs to be punished but I still like her drawings. Maybe she can just stick to simple, 10 second long commercials like this thing.
Sugar on the other hand needs to be burnt alive.
>implying it still isn't and they're just doing it in a flawed way
>Sugar on the other hand needs to be burnt alive
SU became a trainwreck around S2. Sugar is competent enough to make an aesthetically pleasing and funny cartoon, but she can't write plotlines and frankly, this idea of having "dark" and "complex" plotpoints seems to be what fucked up both SU , Adventure Time and SVTFOE.
In all these cases it also seems like the new writers and executive decisions fucked up the original plans too.
What these animators need to understand is that they should stick to basic plotlines instead of cramming references to trauma, abuse or heavy relationship shit if they can't handle it.
The major flaw of the show is that Nefcy never had any concept of what to do with Starco when it finally became canon. She mentioned it in an interview once. I find this attitude rather uninspired.
Nefcy's attitude to the show in general is fucking awful. Ferguson and Alfonso were mandated to be created by Disney execs who thought Marco needed more male friends (which, they aren't wrong) and instead of creating memorable or good characters, she creates some of the worst characters to ever exist in the 2010s and nobody complains when they're abandoned because she never created characters people liked in the first place.
In contrast, Joe Murray of Rocko's Modern Life was prompted by Nickelodeon to make a female character with a "good hook" and Dr. Hutchison ended up being created, who is arguably one of the most memorable characters from the show.
>which, they aren't wrong
Damn now that i think about it squire dog Marco would have been less painful, the mouse was saving his dignity.
>get teased for being ‘lovebirds’
>hang out together a lot
>Tom fixing Marco’s tie
>flawless romantic duet
Think it’ll be canon for 2 episodes before they casually shrug it off and go back to more starco drama?
It's a Steven Universe problem where the show isn't being made the way they want so they act like it's garbage. Tired of you little shits, just whining. S4 has actual problems but it's mostly because why the fuck do we even have S4? Even the people making it are torn on whether to just make fun episodes or to have PLOT everywhere, so we've got a mix and it's eclectic and chaotic and oftentimes unsatisfying, but it's not because of a quality drop. They're basically telling us to our faces what they would have done with S4-S5 and it's Kelly x Marco with Eclipsa doing everything she could to make Mewni accept Globgor, there are your two seasons of plot. Instead we get one mess of a season with Mina as the big bad and it's going to be a wet fart of a conclusion to a series that should have ended after season 3.
Nigger
>Complains that people are complaining the show isn't made the way people wanted
>Proceeds to complain about how the show wasn't made the way they wanted
With the exception of Gravity Falls, did any of the post-2010 big cartoons get a decent ending? I know this one won't get one, and its failure seems to expose the lie of the auteur driven "2010s renaissance". Its quite staggering to me that of the several "great showrunners" that brought big things after Adventure Time, all of them for one reason or other suffered critical imagination failure. Like, when you have shows with such potential, how do you just...run out of ideas and degenerate in this way? This lack of passion or investment in supposed pet-projects towards the end is baffling to me. This is their one shot, their magnum opus, their babies, and they're fine with it just sputtering out like this? Crazy.
the first season sold a concept they never used after it. That hopefully last season is what happen when you get paid for a job but don't have anybody to tell you what to do. It's a glorified animated webcomic, each lead having its own story to tell.
Regular Show.
So why do you still watch it? Do you have nothing better to do with your life than to watch a show you hate and then bitch about how much you hate it?
I would say Steven Universe since Season 5 wraps up the big plot the crew came up with years ago, but we're getting a movie and Season 6 now..
I liked the first two seasons and it took until the end of season 3 for me to realize the show became crap.
I would've dropped it if it was continuing beyond season 4, but it isn't.
The show ends in a month so might as well ride it out until the end.
But that's what people say, it should have ended with BfM or instead have S4 but remove the filler shipping teasing and the stupid drama instead of making things happens offscreen because PonyHead needed another episode fore her.
>00
>000
also, don't forget the tom doesn't mind marco farting, that is a game changer in most relationships
Wait... Maybe Nefcy is just shit at creating characters. Pony Head is garbage, many of the Earth & Mewni characters are one-note and main characters like Star, Marco and Tom have had wildly different characterizations throughout the show...
What exactly were they trying to do that would be awkward? While naked?
Just admiring each other's bodies like normal friends do
>Maybe nefcy was shit all along
Could be a classic case of George Lucas syndrome. We all thought she was good based on our ideas of where the show might go, not on where she thought it.
Trips say tomco. Also, everybody farts, who breaks up over farts? If you share a bed, chances are you’re gonna be farting on each other all night.
Kelly and Marco broke up and Star finally admitted she loves Marco. user, Starco is almost upon us.
Is there any wisdom behind that quote? Or is it just a forced meme?
I like how these threads are starting to adopt the same vibe and tone AT threads have. Maybe when the show ends, and starts to lose influence and political usefulness, the sve bootlickers can fuck off with their baits and shitposting
>she can't write plotlines
No one in cn and hirsh-influenced xd shows can. The sooner you learn this the easier life gets
Where I can find more pricess marco porn besides r34pahael?
It's something a lot of anime and manga manages to navigate, but western cartoons just can't seem to do it
Yeah totally normal thing. Between friends.
>fem marco body pillow
thats a legit thing isnt it ?
Fuck me. Why do the writers introduce a conflict of they don't care about it? Why have Eclipsa steal from Star and read her mind? Why not just have Star give her the book in the first place?
>Star doesn't care at all
Was this written by an alien?
Talking about the last episodes
NO STOP YOU'RE JUST SUPPOSED TO REPEAT OVER AND OVER HOW SHITTY THE SERIES IS NOW REEEEEEEEE STOP TRYING TO HAVE A DISCUSSION
I liked the Trollhunters finale. Though apparently Jim turning into a Troll-human hybrid is controversial? Eh, still better than the Lion Turtle deus ex machina from Avatar.
Angor Rot's "redemption" sucked ass but everything else was done well.
I guess Avatar & Trollhunters finales have this in common. Both great but with one massive blemish that's hard to ignore.
they had to wrap up the eclipsa plot
Yeah, but SU's dragged itself to the finish line after stumbling over anticlimax after anticlimax.
And they did it quite well if you ask me.
The mid-season finale was heartwarming. Felt great after so many toxic teenage relationships these last two seasons.
But it relies heavily on you completely forgiving or just forgetting murder, lies and characters being re-written to suit the story. Don’t be blinded by a cute scene, think about these characters and their motivations.
Was it? She’s in the old butterfly castle, not the temple.
yeah it was quite ridiculous, what the fuck was the point of that spiderbite family episode that made him seem like that awful monster that people still have a grudge against
Mina blessed and cursed existence tells otherwise, Eclipsa have a chance to steal the finale.
Literally all the bad shit these characters did were just exaggerated stories told by other dipshits. Meteora is the exception but her rampage wasn't unprovoked. I still don't understand why Globgor can't just eat animals instead of going full vegetarian though.
It's actually rather a wonder how Globgor doesn't also crave delicious Mewni corn. The planet is apparently obsessed with their type of corn, which is so delicious that monsters and mewmans went to war over it.
She already stole my heart.
mega.
Eating King Shastacan wasn’t an exaggeration, apparently there was more to it, but that wasn’t brought up. Honestly I thought with the way the story was going, Globgor would spit Shastacan out after being freed and he’d team up with Mina against his ex wife and her new lover, claiming himself to be the rightful ruler of the land. But no, we just don’t address it.
mega.nz
you're fucking welcome, faggot
thank you very much sir! have a pleasant day.
>mid-season
Mid season was episode 10. This is the start of the endgame.
It went from primarily Saturday morning cartoon style of structure where they were discovering whacky realms and fighting some hammy villain with some relationship drama thrown in, into primarily relationship drama with political/social bullshit about monsters and mewmans with the fun sprinkled inbetween. I remember I was actually enjoying the show when it first aired but it's just so insufferably ball-achy now. It's gone the way of Adventure Time expect even further down the rabbit hole.
>Adultery is okay because of FEELINGS
Women shouldn't be allowed to write television for a while.
>eating the dumb cuck who had your girl crystallized and basically threw away their child
Oh no somebody stop him...
that was the MHC, kings in the matriarchy are useless and have nothing to say
Mystery Incorporated had one of the best endings in cartoon history, although people seem to deliberately interpret it as a "Bad End" for some reason.
Maybe Nefcy just wanted to do the crazy girl with an abusive bully hatefriend and secretly despises Disney and all they stand for and this has all been just wrathful deconstruction of the princess genre. Kind of like Terry Pratchett's Witches Abroad except, you know, disguised as a kid's show. And handled by incompetent morons. And bad.
If some bloke named Shastacan can't satisfy a girl like Eclipsa, then he's clearly a loser unfit for the throne.
Besides wasn't it a pushed marriage despite Eclipsa and Globgor already being together in secret.
yeah Solaria for some reason just had to push a useless husband on her daughter even though she hated men
There were no good episodes. It was always shit.
Notice the MHC blamed Shastacan of the decition of Meteora's disposal.
>Adultery is okay because he didn't do what she wanted.
It probably had something to do with her being monster hating hitler
There's going to be no council members left at this rate.
Well duh. She's the queen, in a society reliant on a magical matriarchy. He's only a king.
She's by definition more important than he is.
If you wanna complain about it, go bother the immortal blue bearded imp, who on a whim decided that a girl should be ruler of all the mewmen.
>Eclipsa should have stayed loyal to the man forced upon her because of her cunt of a mother despite already being in love with Globgor
>muh women
actually pathetic
hey baryl, how you doing?
That's what Glossaryck wants
Adultery is okay because he's a man and she's a woman and men don't have feelings anyway lol.
>women don't half to honor vows if they don't feel like it
Why this perspective that Solaria is the cunt and Eclipsa is the hero? You realize that a monarchy is a legacy and an obligation, right? The integrity of the state is at risk, a princess can't just marry any fucking freak she meets.
*have
Dumb males without magical powers shouldn't really have a say in anything on Mewni.
Why do the queens even bother with non-Lucitorian males? Lucitorians at least have magical powers. Mewmen are just worthless muggles.
Just like Adventure Time!
why the fuck didn't Eclipsa just kill Shastacan, Globgor was ready to eat him anytime she wants and there was another queen that literally killed her husband and got away with it
>Star Vs
>good episodes
No such thing
It's not adultery if the marriage was never consummated; which was the case, as Eclipsa clarifies she made a deal with Shastacan to only pretend to be a real couple.
I don't think he would have become king if the marriage wasn't official
Nobody spied their bedroom, user.
He could be king in exchange of not forcing her to have sex, but he tried to break the deal later on... which was one of the reasons Eclipsa decided to leave.
>Marriage is only official if consummated by intercourse
Are you stupid or something?
>dangerous and unpredictable
Eclipsa does what Eclipsa wants, THAT'S what makes her so dangerous. She lied that she wasn't going to keep trying to free her husband but it took Globgor himself to convince her that maybe it wasn't such a good idea; the point Star has been trying to impress on her is that she's a Queen now - she has to take the opinions, desires, needs, of her people into account.
Got a fucking chuckle out of me.
>the execs demanded friends for marco
>nefcy went lolno made them awful and ditched them as soon as she could
>it is now obvious marco needs some friends
What is this reality where execs actually made the right call?
user is right.
That's how it worked before. In many countries even witnesses were requires to make sure the newly-wed had sex.
good thing mewni wasn't one of those countries then
Eh. Cornonation was a huge nothing-burger. Eclipsa could have made a great antagonist.
Yikes
Well the execs were also the ones who made the magic real so no.
You realize that even if the marriage was somehow not legally official because of no sex, Eclipsa's decision to not let her husband fuck her is literally treason?
>muh "character development"
>muh overarching plot
fags like you killed this show
Globgor resurrected the fanartists interested in this show.
I've seen more art being released in the last 24 hours than in the last months.
All hai the king!
Wait until next Sunday when Marco's sister shows up.
It's not adultery if the marriage was a sham and never consummated.
What do you think Glossaryck's job is?
>Well the execs were also the ones who made the magic real so no.
I will give you that a magicless star would have made an interesting setting for a story, but it would have been an entirely different show and I bet a lot more depressing. The exec are looking more and more as the good guys, which is shocking.
The dragon cycle episode feels like a metaphor for Tom and Star's 'relationship'.
user if Nefcy had just made the show she wanted to make she would've given a fucking shit. Making the setting magical is exactly why we have what we got now. They told her to bake a cake so she laced it with poison.
just two fucking dindu nuffins, no one likes them for who they actually are
>t. retard who doesn't know the history of Mewni
Reminder that anyone who hasn't read the book of spells isn't allowed to have an opinion on plot points of the show.
Corrupting minors
Oh shut the fuck up.
Adultery is wrong and so is treason.
>some fucking khv pretending he gives a shit about muh values
So you expect that if she had full control from the very beginning things would have been better? Or that is ok to trust someone that stops caring when all their demands are not fullfilled? Look at what the show has become when control was granted. Nefcy is no genius.
Some people benefit from guidance, advice and revisions, even if they throw a bitchfit over muh artistic freedom.
So the mass genocide of monsters was okay then right, just making sure we know who the villains and good guys are here.
Guess the queen who ran away from her kingdom to be with her monster love is the problem and not the queen who retired the crown because she was simply "bored" and left an entire fucked up kingdom she couldn't bother to care for in the hands of her underage daughter.
I gotcha user hearing ya loud and clear.
>TomStars on suicide watch
Adultery is ok if you're married to a manlet. In fact it should be encouraged to get manletism out of the genepool.
And that's why Eclipsa chose divorce and abdication, which are completely valid.
The MHC and Shastacan then proceeded to fuck everything up. Even Crescenda pointed out what a bad move for Mewni was for Globgor to dissapear.
Yeah, calling bullshit on that one. Magicless Star isn't anymore interesting, you're once again head canoning and dreaming up scenarios that just plain aren't there. What we have may not be the best it could've been, but it sure as hell was better than what was in those early proto-Star comics
agreed
Together for 2 episodes and break up
Fuck this show
This dude is supposed to be from the Spiderbite family.
Where are the spider bites, Gaben?
star giving it yup and following down her same path of passing off her responsibilities to others was probably the biggest act of "ruining away from her problems that's been shown, but the show doesn't treat it that way. Instead it's seemingly teasing it as the "correct" choice even though she's still hand holding this idiot queen in a job she's far more qualified for. To the point where the show and the crown have been usurped by her.
read the book of spells for juicy details
This show became shit when it devolved into Eclipsa vs the Forces of Evil.
Star is Nefcy, a failure
Meteora is Cotugno, the true princess that will inherit magic and everything because she's super duper special and mixed
Globgor is incredibly popular after just two episodes.
The show became bad when the writers kept shilling for love triangles and relationship drama. Eclipsa is saving the show.
>considerate partner
>devoted father
>hung like a horse
>in a loving relationship not tainted by endless relationship drama
I can see the appeal.
>voiced by a poc
Meh. Expectations subverted, but I don't feel any connection to him. Fucker gets a free pass for being a dad, how lame. Hey dudes, go knock up a girl and then be a loving father. It's an automatic get out of jail free card.
even with all the show's worst flaws in writing the biggest stinker is that they literally confirmed he used to eat mewmen, yet the very populace that was once his dinner is going to welcome him into society with warm hugs just because they now know he's a dad. priceless
Things would be different if Yea Forums was working with her, instead of Tumblr...
>it's okay because he ate the last one 300 years ago
>was crystallized for 300 years
>when Globgor got out he probably was able to still taste the last mewman he ate between his teeth
He already spent 300 years in jail for accusations he proved to be wrong in front of an audience.
Even Heekapoo was surprised because she was sure he would try to attack his own daughter (which shows how retarded she is)
At least they didn't blush, the fucking hacks actually make them react in character.
Who's dtf
Yeah. One big ol'timeoout. Where the ravages of time cost him.... NOTHING. Literally, him being in there had as much impact as him being in there for a day. Wheee, justice!
Eclipsa is a contrast to Moon - an individual learning to think (or care) how her actions affect others and becoming a ruler vs. a self-sacrificing leader finally allowing herself to live for herself a little. Neither of them are changing who they fundamentally are: Eclipsa's still the knowledge-seeking Queen of Darkness and Moon's still a leader (as seen) but they're starting to balance it.
The message of the show is compromise.
Eclipsa could've made a great antagonist though, yeah.
>He already spent 300 years in jail for accusations he proved to be wrong in front of an audience.
fucking bullshit
Even Eclipsa admits that he ate Shastacan. No one demands justice for it, not even the fucking Spiderbites in the crowd who were pissed about it in the first place
Added to the collection
sooo is globgor the only size shifter that exists?
Eclipsa never having sex with Shatascan sound like bullshit added by the staff for making Eclipsa into an even bigger dindu nuffin
It's a "race" of monsters.... so yeah, probably
Marco and Kelly breaking up one episode after they hook up and Rumbulus suddenly becoming a villain just so they can wrap the Globdore subplot is a testament of how aimless the show has gotten, did someone important left the show after seasons 3?
Why are anons so adamant about hating Globgor despite him not only being a victim of the war against mewmans but also a decent guy who was willing to change for his new family, dude cut out meat entirely just for Eclipsa.
>b-but he ate people hurr durr
Yeah what a fucking maniac, can't believe the king of monsters had little guilt for protecting his own and eating the army that was actively seeking out and killing monsters just because their queen was a psychopath. How dare he eat the scummy shitstain that married for the crown and tossed his child into the gutter.
I'm actually enjoying way too much her bond with Star and development as a character for her to be the villain.
Mina is better in that role.
stop sucking his cock so hard, shitting out a baby isn't an achievement
To the paranoid mind Globgor's background reads like an attack on white men everywhere.
because meme faggotry dictates how they perceive shit
she would tease Globgor that there was another guy in her bed / bedroom with her that isn't him and was sure to check out every monster race before settling with him, sounds like a slut
It is for Mewmans since it was stablished in Battle for Mewni.
Remember the main propaganga against each other is the the other army kill babies and are unable to understand paternal instincts.
Heekapoo actualy believed this and that's why she took Meteora the first time and had her in a cage this last episode: "This is for your safety"
When Globgor showed what all Mewmans thought he was uncapable of, due to propaganda, the whole image they had of him vanished. Even Heekapoo's
Globgor has now a chance to prove who he really is.
Remember, Mina was Solaria's right-hand woman and Eclipsa was Solaria's beloved daughter. Most likely Mina saw Eclipsa as like a little sister when she was younger. So it's not just hatred of monsters that motivates Mina to oppose Eclipsa. It was also a very personal betrayal to her when her "sister" ran away and joined the same side that had just murdered Solaria.
they never were close, stop making up shit
and to a similarly paranoid mind disdain for poor writing that pardons a guy for eating sentient beings just because he also, like pretty much every creature, can be a dad is synonymous with percieving the show as an political statement against people of a certain skin tint.
guy stopped eating people for the love of his life, what a fucking hero. there is a difference between cutting out meat from your diet and literally stopping devouring mewmen. guy seems pretty sympathetic but with a record like that it's stupid to see them forgive globgor so easily. society doesn't work like that.
>Mina is better in that role.
But also much less interesting. This show has a real problem with stakes.
Yeah, I'm totally fine with what happened. Eclipsa would've been (and is) great either way, I love her as a character.
Mina's a pretty good fit. Last of a super-powered old guard loyal to a dead queen's warlike ideals and created with no contingencies. With the enemy sitting on the throne and her dread husband free at last, it's all perfectly aligned. However, for all her power she's not exactly a match for a few of the cast teaming up, even with Sebastian. Got any thoughts on this armour/her ultimate plan?
Given that Mina is able to repeat the Solarian process that gave her powers on Sebastian, odds are she's going to do it to a group of Mewmans from Moon's settlement (where Eclipsa-hate and monster-hate is at its highest) as well. And probably multiple suits of animated armor.
She'll need an superpowered army to be a credible threat against Eclipsa and Globgor, to say nothing of Star joining the fight in the finale.
Yu Yu Hakusho did it better and Togashi has serious issues with dindu nuffins
They are further cementing Eclipsa as creepy and someone who really shouldn’t be queen. That message just gets lost under all the vilification of Mina and now Rhombulus.
It’s not like Eclipsa should have even needed to read Star’s mind. She should have either just given the book piece to Eclipsa to begin with, or at the very least Star’s reaction to being asked about it should have tipped her off it was somewhere.
Makes a cute couple with Globgor though, in as much that they both seem completely tone deaf as far as mind spells/joking about murdering people.
-"Are we inside my mind right now?"
-"Yes"
-"But how?"
-"I used a spell"
-"That's creepy, boo"
They are the very definition of relationship goals.
Because this is some of the most hackneyed characterization in modern cartoons, and that's saying something.
Imagine if we got a show dedicated to showing that the Holocaust never happened and it was just a million Jews staging the whole thing and Hitler came back and he had a kid and was a decent person actually all the authorities of the world lied about him and he was just trying to protect Germany. You wouldn't be okay with that, would you?
Nice one. I hope the final fight is some tight shit. Wonder if Moon'll join in?
Only creeps care about purity faggotry unironically. I'm talking about how Eclipsa wasn't truly unfaithful because her marriage was never consumed and retroactively the staff made Shatascan into a power-hungry douche. The entire backstory is for whitewashing Eclipsa and shutting down every possible criticism.
Nobody has denied or pretended that Globgor didn't eat mewmans. Heck, he still made some jokes about it.
But why wouldn't there be whitewashing? Is it because she's a woman that you're upset about this? Why do you care, she is the Queen now, suck on her teat of nanny goddess total power.
And Hitler killed some Jews, but they deserved it kek lol he's a dad and is cute with Eva now, that makes it ok.
Save us Ludo
>Only creeps care about purity faggotry unironically.
Hitler failed at being a dad because he forgot to shag Eva Braun.
Another of those things that Hitler did wrong.
>literal tumblrites ITT advocating adultery, nanny states, treason and historical revisionism
I've never been to /pol/, I didn't read you stupid book and I never will and this show has become trash and it can only be redeemed if it was just a sick girl's fantasy like Nefcy originally intended.
If anything, the animation ghetto from the 70's & 80's is actually what made the mess in the first place.
>70s cartoons was a bid between corporations trying to play both the woke card with the free love hippies and the moral crusader soccer moms along with being bigger slaves to toy merch and ad revenue. They didn't care what moral soapbox they espoused on, only if it made money.
>Late 70's and into the 80's we had a shitload of cartoons that were trying to be subversive/edgy for the sake of it in hopes that someone would pick it up as avant-garde animation rather than the worthless drivel that it was.
>Everyone either through back room deals or complete hackery started to copy the same cut/paste formula in the media, especially cartoons with slow shift into computer animation, shoddy as it was in the 80s.
>Calarts is just the current reiteration of the 80s trying to apply Six Sigma to everything, even things that were not industrial. Removing what they saw as "imperfections" beforehand to streamline production and yield a mass produced product with little to no deviation.
>The problem is that cartoons and art are not Motorola phones and Chevys on a wholesale lot. People are attracted to the media for it's content and presentation, especially when it differs from the norm.
>The problem now is that everything that Calarts, Cotugno, and Corps create is mainstream woke. It's the same platitudes that every show since the 80's has preached only with more subversive behavior for the sake of being different.
>When everyone is subversive, no one truly is as while some hate shows because of their adherent to some form of fundamental values. The majority are just apathetic and blase to it all as it's the same scripts over and over again but with a new coat of paint.
The 90's worked because it rejected the status quo and the uniformity of conformity. Now we open our gullets like baby birds in the nest for the corporate swill they vomit upon us.
>It's disgusting how some of the storyboarders and one of the directors are such fucking Tom fangirls, and apparently Nefcy does nothing to rein them in
I read this too in tumblr so probably it's true. That would explain a lot about Tom's role in the show. Also those hags are Tomstar shippers
People didn't know Heinous was Eclipsa's daughter either. You don't know.
>everyone who doesn't agree with me over a childrens show is tumblr
>btw not a /pol/fag who knows an iota of the history of the setting
Sure buddy
Yeah I still can't forgive what happened to the Real Ghostbusters because of the 80's prevailing conformist view on TV and animation.
This show has demonstrated multiple times it's willing to throw whatever established history it's made out the window at a moment's notice.
>he doesn't think Hitler was based
At last you've revealed your true colors
>using a Hitler allegory at all
Yeah okay retard, first of all if that did happen in some alternate timeline I'm sure most people would be cool with it considering the people affected both doesn't exist anymore and most of the world never cared in the first place. Second maybe you should have saved the Hitler allegory for a certain queen instead. Third no one pretends he didn't eat people, the Newman's were still hung up on it at first but seeing as he proved to be an alright dude and his people eating days were so long ago that none of the mewmans alive today were really affected by it they elected to give him a chance. Things are still gonna be rocky and Moons little town she's created consists entirely of the people who hate both of them and won't even give the new kingdom the light of day.
Stop acting like the events transpiring are retarded just because you are.
>The 90's worked because it rejected the status quo and the uniformity of conformity.
This is what zoomers actually believe. The 90's was even more corporate than any age before. What you consider "edgy" and "nonconformist" was the product of countless focus groups and dictates.
The paralel would be if we had been told that Hitler hated jews, only to find out centuries later, that he saved them from the French.
Everyone was told Globgor killed babies because monsters lack of parental instinct, and he inmediately proved otherwise the minute he got out.
Bingo. Also, as much as I love Bruce Timm, his theory of simplification in character design is at least partially responsible for super undetailed characters we see now. I mean, X-Men had issues with animation but the designs were visually interesting.
>Yeah okay retard, first of all if that did happen in some alternate timeline I'm sure most people would be cool with it considering the people affected both doesn't exist anymore and most of the world never cared in the first place.
This isn't about what makes sense in-universe moron. It's about the fucking absurdity of a narrative rooted in the idea that every authority that disagrees with you has been lying about everything.
If you don't want a Hitler allegory the same fucking thing can be said about the American Civil War. Lol John Wilkes Booth is actually a hero and a great husband and father, that makes it ok he shot the President because President Lincoln was a mad despot trying to stiffle the freedom of the American South and everything modern history tells you about the actual geopolitics of America is a filthy yankee lie.
It's the same goddamn moral, you idiot. The idea that you can disregard what anyone tells you because they've just been lying the whole time.
Then how the fuck is their relationship so awkward and pathetic? Are they content with them just being together on screen?
Because the relationship is viewed and written through the lens of awkward and pathetic people.
>T-the truth about what happened in the past doesn't count cause I said so. Who cares that what we knew was a lie and they were really a good guy, DO WE JUST FORGIVE HIM FOR NOT BEING EVIL!?
Lmaoing at your fucking brainlet thought process
Have sex sneed.
They don't have full control over the show, just one faction among others like Cotugno and her minions or the people still loyal to Nefcy's vision, all pushing their own vision into the show. Is that surprising the show is a fucking mess? According to some gal from tumblr Kellco happened because those Tomstar shippers in the staff wanted to stretch their OTP's lifespan so they basically pushed Marco to Kelly.
So by Nefcy trying to make us sympathize with a monster that has killed innocents, is she trying to blue pill us or red pill us?
Oh my god. You might actually be fucking brainless.
It's a fictional story. It's not the truth. The use of fiction is to illustrate truths, but none of it actually happened. What this fucking show is illustrating is that if something is "cute" and there is opposition to it, anything they say can and should be disregarded as lying.
Learn to fucking separate fiction from reality you imbecile.
It's fucking baffling. If you don't want to have them be romantic, just don't make them romantic. It's not hard. At the end of Kelly's World just have them be friends. This type of writing is infuriating.
>It's CUTE so it's fine
Pink pill. Massive pink pill.
What’s the point of Star giving up the throne if the plot is setting up her getting it back? Eclipsa doesn’t give a flying fuck about the kingdom, and Star has been putting in all the work
Then why did he create them??
Solaria killed innocents and started a war because she wanted slaves.
Globgor fought Solarian warriors to defend his people, while trying to convince everybody to sign a peace treaty.
>Star has been putting in all the work
Maybe that's kind of the point?
Star as an actual official Princess was ineffective, but after being freed from the throne shows how much she's capable of
Star's heart is in the right place but she's naieve (she is 15 after all). So, while righting an historical wrong "feels" like the right thing to do she's not looking at the potential ramifications of that decision. Eclipsa IS selfish, IS untrustworthy and IS deceptive. Giving her the crown might actually destroy the kingdom. Though, I doubt they'll go that direction storywise.
You know what, screw pacify break up, now i want the fucking worst to happen, these cunts are the main reason why this fucking dragging happened.
Even more because i also remember some of them are also Tomco fags, goddamit Nefcy how do you let that shit happen.
The Frenchies are gonna love this.
It’s all just Glossarycks training for her, and he’s also putting in time with Meteora for her golden age rule
And Eclipsa didn't even want to be queen
To be fair GF's badness snuck up on peoole during season 2 and it was pretty clear the show was about to end
>X-Men had issues with animation but the designs were visually interesting.
Because they were designed solely to sell toys and comic books.
with how deep the rabbit hole has gotten with all of this globgor shit i'm not going to be surprised if people here start searching for events in the show's lore that can be counted as war crimes. fucking disney nuremberg up in here.
Let's be perfectly honest.
The very notion that monsters aren't monsters is revolting.
The fact that humanoids and monsters can breed it's sickening
Shut up Solaria, this is why everybody agrees your brother should have been king.
Meteora is an abomination and shouldn't exist
Have the writing staff seen the episode "Lobster Claws"? Where it turns out monsters are inherently evil, have the urge to eat children and can't vote with peace?
The show became shit for a variety of reasons. Not having a clear direction during the first season (fun fact: Mewberty was originally called "Running with Scissors" and had nothing to do with puberty), the shipping drama that slowly started taking over in season 2, Toffee being killed off when we still don't exactly what his endgame was (honestly, I don't think the writers ever knew) and Eclipsa and Globgor being retconned from big bads to the weak ass characters they are now.
Disagree on the "solely" part. Their design followed conventional wisdom of the time, highly detailed and faithful to the source material while sacrificing fluidity. BTAS changed that formula. While it was groundbreaking at the time it has led to less and less detail as time goes on.
What was this guy deal? Why was he dethroned?
he didn't have a vagina
Bullshit, he looks like he had a bigger vagina than all the Queens combined
Can I just say that I haven't even watched the show, and I find the ship culture surrounding it fucking insufferable?
Lol this show is such a dumpsterfire now. Why are they making a mid season finale strictly about things no one cares about. And that kelly marco thing, jesus. The entire thing should be renamed into Star versus the forces of just... why
Jushtin dressed like a fucking pimp and fucked the shit ouf of his sexy math tutor everyday, get educated fool
> Where it turns out monsters are inherently evil, have the urge to eat children and can't vote with peace?
They are cute you sexist bigot.
>vote
Cope*
He could have magicked himself one.
Nefcy and her crew hate and vomit on season 1 and 2. This souless and aimless sequence of disconnected filler it's the show she always wanted.
>>the shipping was only eluded to, outside of blood moon ball it was never really a driving force of a plot
this. SO-MUCH-THIS. fuck shippers you ruined my show. again.
>The good episodes seem like a lifetime ago.
Truth is we were strung along by a handful of good and/or lore-relevant episodes which were really outnumbered by the otherwise mediocre eps. The actual plot/lore felt like an afterthought initially until the writers took it way further to the point where it was clear they were biting more than they can chew as far as plot/lore was concerned.
I miss there actually being a "Forces of Evil" for Star to ...Versus.
I don't even know what the hell the direction is anymore. Just seems like totally random relationship adventures in semi magic world. Either Star and Marco will they won't they, Marco Kelley will they won't they, Eclipsa Globgor will they won't they, Star Tom will they won't they, meanwhile thee is some kind of magic world plot happening very far in the background that the series does not seem to really care about.
When are we getting to the monster arm?
He acted like a normal teenager, he enjoyed going out with friends, partying and was kinda forgetful.
So his retarded mother had another daughter to kicked him off the throne... because muh matriarchy.
Jushtin ended up being an excelent diplomat, while the daughter became a psycho responsible of Mewni's darkest era and decadence (Solaria)
if they're going to make Jobulus a full-blown bad guy they could at least let him be a part of the cool fight scene...
user, the forces of evil are actually racism and bigotry.
Funny how the patriarchy isn't included there, but it would be weird given the power is monopolized by the Queen and every team/group its 50% men, 50% women but the place is a fucking shit hole.
Eclipsa had Globgor kill the husband she didn't want and has developed the ability to enter other people's minds.
He definitely would have had to have killed Shastican after his whole promise to not eat people
Stop the stupid meme. The show has made pretty clear all enemies shared one thing in common: they won't move on or accept change.
Toffee couldn't move on from the atrocities Mewmans did in the past with their magic and killed Comet. Then spent decades planning a revenge against someone who forgave his life, for the same reason.
Heinous couldn't move on and just live peacefuly with her mother, she was full of hatred and wanted a throne that no longer belonged to her family.
Mina can't move on either. War is the only thing she understands and would rather put Mewni through another dark age than accept her world is changing.
Nah, Mina just doesn't know who the real bad guy is.
but he ate him. Eclipsa didn't even disagree.
This could be the case. The last two seasons have felt kinda disjointed. Each team knows the endgoal for the series, but all of the lore, shipping and characters in between is determined by the storyboarders. Nefcy’s “vision” has been whatever suits the storyboard team’s goal for the episode. It’s why characters like Star, Marco, Moon etc. can be competent one episode, then ignorant the next. It’s why Star can be ignoring Tom in one episode, to adoring him in the next, or Marco saying he has feelings for Kelly, to having him ending it getting serious in the next.
Toffee: whole motives are based around racism and how his people were treated
Heinous: whole motives are based around racism and how she was treated
Mina: whole motives are based around racism and how she treats others
Here's the synopsis for the final episode

I still want to know why Monster Arm had a random cameo in Storm the Castle that never gets mentioned afterwards. What the fuck was that shit about?
WOW GREAT SYNOPSIS
no actually I guess I appreciate the effort to not spoil everything, it's just the vaguest shit ever
We don't know what Toffee wanted because he got melted to bring in Eclipsa. Heinous went Hulk before she met her mother.
I think you're right that this is the type of theme they're going for, but both Battle for Mewni and Divide and Conquer were so rushed everything is muddled.
I think what they were going for was that in the context of that scene, Star tells Marco to stick his arm in the hole and grab the sandwich, or something like that. Marco hesitates as he remembers the last time Star did something to his arm.
I think Adam McArthur mentioned in some video chat thing that that's what he assumed they were going for, at least. It's not coming back, or if it did it would be for a 5-second joke.
>Star gets to do things
Actually promising
It doesn't come off as a joke, it felt it was foreshadowing something that would never happen in the episode.
Either way this fails.
All of her problems?
So... shipping episode I guess.
Probably after Shastican had his marriage annulled, their kid tossed away, and Eclipsa crystaled. Globgor probably went into the blind rage on the Spiderbites where he burned shit down and ate people and was crystaled mid rampage.
MoringMark is my hero
KELLEEEEEEHHHHH
we know for a fact Eclipsa was crystallized after all that went down, because she knew about Shastacan's death and the circumstances surrounding it. when you actually think about it the chain of events makes no sense.
>Shastican wasn't the father.
Eclipse confirmed for hateful manipulative lying slut.
Globgor confirmed best dad?
Tom is happy Marco is still anal virgin.
Guess it's going to be like an epilogue/bittersweet thing.
If the last episode is filler shit I'm going to send an angry email to Disney
She was crystalized before all that, that's why she was sure Meteora became queen.
Eclipsa found out about Globgor and Shastacan in Total Eclipsa of the Moon, while she was alone in the archives.
we all thought Globgor and Eclipsa got crystallized before Shastacan and the MHC gave Meteora away, so the reveal that Globgor ate Shastacan just led to more head scratching
The plan was absolutely to have it done back. The ending of the episode Monster Arm wasn't just a hint at a joke, it was blunt foreshadowing.
>Eclipsa found out about Globgor and Shastacan in Total Eclipsa of the Moon, while she was alone in the archives.
There is literally nothing to suggest that. It's canon Eclipsa must have been "awake" when Shastacan was eaten. She knew Meteora was kidnapped by the MHC but didn't know what became of her, assumed she was given the crown.
I guess if we try to fit everything together the chain of events goes:
>Eclipsa is somehow isolated from both Globgor and Meteora and crystallized
>Meteora is then taken away, without Eclipsa being aware of what happened to her
>Globgor rages and vores Shastacan and then is crystallized at the temple
>Eclipsa finds out about this and Globgor's current location while she was unsupervised in the archives
I dunno if we'll ever get an actual explanation in the show, and if we do it could end up contradicting what they already set up since I get the vibe they just might not have thought too hard about it. Same thing with how Monster Bash seemed to be implying Meteora was slightly older than they later portrayed her as when taken away (she remembers a bookshelf, toychest, playing with dolls etc. when it doesn't seem like she could even walk?).
Here's a fun game, just click the random button on the Star Vs. Ships wiki and see what you find

No you're not
I still don't think that Globgor eating Shastacan is a 100% sure thing, I mean it only got brought up at the monster temple through all of the artwork and maybe it's simply glorifying Globgor's actions? making him seem more cruel than he is?
though I have no idea when that artwork was supposed to have been made
We need Babs. Complete with ryona.
lewd
It's as sure as it gets. He almost explicitly admitted it himself.
Eclipsa said it was true, although she does state that it's more complicated than that.
Under ordinary circumstances I would consider shipping shit to be garbage.
This is not an ordinary circumstance.
svtfoe-ships.fandom.com
I don't really see any reason to not believe it. Globgor joking about eating people in The Monster and the Queen was an admission that he definitely used to eat Mewmans. Shastacan, after his daughter was kidnapped, made him angry enough to indulge in his fetish executions.
The situation is kind of screwy though because the whole reason the MHC and the crown took Meteora, somehow robbing her right under Eclipsa/Globgor's noses, was because they needed a queen. But then they just tossed her out because she's a monster... without crystallizing her. Potentially the "most dangerous monster in history." Why'd they go through the effort of kidnapping her? Their stupidity cost them a king.
There seemed to be just no living royal family member at all when the magic high commission picked Festivia to be the new queen.
hot
Anyone else ready for the shipper salt mines when this show ends?
>tfw this and the scene of Marco wiping the Toffee mirror led to those "MARCO IS TOFFEE" theories
The good old days
Plus the friends Jushtin was goofing off with as a teenager were from a bunch of the most prominent families in Mewni. He might've been just having fun at the time, but he was also making connections that would've been valuable when he became king.
Should I be glad that I stopped watching around the end of season 2?
Like, I didn't stop because I though the show was heading in a bad direction, I just stopped watching TV around that time and didn't start watching TV shows again until around the middle of last year.
From what I hear it's all gone downhill since then.
Did we ever find out why Toffee was hurt/surprised when Marco called him boring?
wow aren't you special
It's fine to watch Battle of Mewni and then move on straight to Between Friends.
why couldn't he have just been hurt/surprised
even lizard boys have feelings
Fucking this. Just what was the fucking purpose of that. It happened so quickly and off-screen so it achieves literally NOTHING besides baiting people that like the ship. Marco's character didn't change from it nor he learned anything, Kelly is rightfully iffed at the fact that he broke up it up but besides some snarky comments nothing changed for her either and will probably end up back with Tad.
They either have no idea what to do with the characters anymore besides Eclipsa, or they're just messing with the viewers. I don't know what's worse.
It's going to be glorious
Star says fuck it, destroys all magic, stays on Earth, erases her memory and becomes proto-star
I think it was probably just a weird animation thing that everyone read too much into, but if we assume it wasn't, going by what we know about Toffee now he used to be way more open about being an edgelord in the past and was putting on a more strait-laced image while working for Ludo.
He was having flashbacks to his crazy days of long(er) hair and wearing skulls and killing queens and peer-pressuring friends to cut off their limbs and such.
I would be ok with this
He's always being the popular guy and leader since he was a teenager.
For him to become a boring adult must have felt awful.
Different storyboarders wanting to tell different stories and it is fucking up the show. Nefcy is clearly not giving a shit to reign anything in. So we got boarders that want a Marco and Kelly and boarders that clearly don't want a Marco and Kelly
fuck why even have your own cartoon at all if other people will work on it and completely fuck it up?
Yeah right. Next you'll be saying monsters have souls.
What's important is that they all love the superior adult pairings.
Because everyone gets sick of it after a few years. Even when it's successful. Most show creators get bored with it and fuck off letting their boarders take over and ruin things.
Keep spreading your tism
have sex
they're boring already
Heh.
So who's to say won't happen after all? The finale will literally flip-flop between Marco and Kelly being endgame and Marco and Star being endgame with no rhyme, reason or continuity in between. It'll be based.
The majority of the fandom think otherwise.
The artistic response to the last episodes have been massive.
>"I'm a part of you now! You can treat the symptoms but you'll never cure the virus"
And then there was the thing with Toffee trying to get Marco to eat the same glowing sandwich, calling him a disappointment when he wouldn't.
Definitely feels like an abandoned plotline.
star take a assfull of crystal like a champ
I mean they're cute but they won't get any future episodes
The majority of the fandom, if you'll pardon my French, deserve to be rounded up in an airtight chamber and fed some tasty Zyklon B.
Democracy in a creative atmosphere does not work. You need one person at the top to call the shots.
Seriously though, she HAS to be autistic. I mean, she has the fashion sense of a 4 year old.
Meteora is confirmed to have at least one though.
Any art of Eclipsa kucking Star out of her own show yet
kill me now
Yes, and it was drawn by the show's staff
Interview link with timestamp plz.
damn Eclipsa has a nice ass
>OH NO, BABY, GET AWAY FROM THERE
quality writing
I would like to stick Meteora's tail into an electric outlet
Why is she drinking male ears? This is why modern feminists are shit.
The whole exchange was weird though. Like Toffee calling Marco a "disappointment", even though why would he have any expectations at all of the guy whose only role in the plan is being a hostage?
But then again it's not like they had that much of the show's future planned out at the time the S1 finale was made. Pretty much just a rough outline into what eventually became Battle for Mewni. So I guess they were just trying to make Toffee a bit mysterious, to give the impression there's more to him than just "villain who's more dangerous than Ludo".
A pity there was no followup. After leaving us wondering things like "why did he react so strangely to Marco?" and "how the hell would he know what the first spell Moon taught Star was?", the none of it ever gets answered.
The further hints of Toffee's past that get dropped in S2 do at least get some followup, but unfortunately all of it's underwhelming. The Hard Way shows that Toffee and Glossaryck are well acquainted with each other, and Starcrushed makes it seem like he and Moon have some history beyond just having fought once. Hence all the fan theories that they were childhood friends before he betrayed her. Even with all the cringe shipfaggotry from scalies on tumblr, that still would've been more interesting than "actually they only had like a 2 minute conversation before Moon blasted off his finger and that's the only time they met". (So why was Moon already afraid of Toffee when he revealed himself in Starcrushed? She'd easily BTFO him last time so it shouldn't have been until he revealed his new power that she would fear him.) And his familiarity with Glossaryck was even more underwhelming when it was finally revealed to be "LOL Glossaryck used to troll a teenage Toffee via time travel." Turns out that all the writers knew how to do was drop hints that there's more to Toffee than meets the eye, but no idea how to make that actually be the case.
Cringe.
(continued)
And yet despite all that Toffee is still the best villain this show's produced, because he was never a crazy dumpster-diving hobo or a tantrum-throwing woman-child who gets transformed into a diaper-shitting baby.
I'm ready for Stargor and Marclipsa
>svtfoe-ships.fandom.com
absolutely WHOLESOME
That would save us from your shit-taste.
Meteora saved the first part of the season with Meteora's Lesson and will save the second with Gone Baby Gone
My biggest problem with the last episodes
I never personally found the "disappointment" line that strange and even when the episode was new I never got the speculation around it. I think Toffee just expected Marco to put up more of a fight or something, or maybe thought he was a wimp. Also as for Starcrushed, I think Moon was afraid because after Star told her about the events of Storm the Castle, she assumed Toffee was dead. I guess she'd be more intimidated by him than before after he easily got Star alone and almost killed her.
But yeah, I agree there's a lot of stuff we're just never getting an explanation for and it's weird. You would think the Whispering Spell would come up more as a bit of lore; that's one of the more blatant examples to me because I'm pretty sure it's not even in the spellbook. I wouldn't be surprised if Nefcy had thought of more of a backstory for Toffee to justify the Magneto stuff that the show just never did or implied, because she was working with a bunch of other writers who may have had different ideas.
I think a similar thing's going on with the Globgor/Eclipsa backstory, ex. how does it all fit together, but maybe that actually will get an explanation. If not, it might be worse because at least the Toffee stuff doesn't contradict itself so much as it's underwhelming.
I think the downfall is that these shows want to have serialised instalments while also being weekly cartoons with no real continuity. You just can't have both, and the writers don't get that.
hey toddlercon you're masturbating to an old bitter lady actually
(continued too)
Also YES. I was going to say something similar before I even realized you'd made this post, but thought it'd be too much of a tangent.
I don't think they ever really ruined the core character, despite all the other dumb shit and missed opportunities there've been. I do kind of like Mina for now (not expecting her conclusion to be great though), but for me Heinous/Meteora was a failure in every way compared to the effect I assume she was supposed to have.
I think Ludo was also good but I found his last couple appearances underwhelming.
I've seen relationships break over smaller stuff user
The only sick person who masturbates to guro baby porn is you. That's the only thing you do in these threads, share your sick sexual fantasies of killing infants.
Meteora is great simply because it keeps sick pedophiles like you out of the streets.
>ocram's existence gives the possibility of this being a thing
I mean with Meteora she seemed like she could be a decent villain for S3. Trying to do another Toffee wasn't going to work, but contrasting Toffee (who came within a hair's breadth of winning via careful planning and manipulation) by having a villain whose threat comes from sheer viciousness would've been decent.
Too bad the Y7 rating meant that the offscreen brutality that was implied in the ending of Skooled could never happen in an onscreen fight. But even with having to water the fight down via giving Meteora the same soul-sucking magic wand-Toffee had (because reasons?), having her go from vicious brute in Skooled to tantrum-throwing giant toddler in Tough Love and Divide/Conquer was a huge letdown. Even her character design got worse in the process.
Yeah, Skooled was the one part of that arc that briefly got my hopes up. I mean I wasn't a fan of the backstory shown in that episode, but her design was cool enough that I thought maybe I could enjoy where this was going.
The first time I saw Tough Love I honestly couldn't believe what they'd done with the character in between episodes. Didn't feel like the natural follow-up to that episode at all.
I don't get Meteora's abilities or where they're supposed to be coming from either.
We all agree Meteora's true nature design is top tier and should have never be changed off-panel to size-shifter mode.
Look at her! She is an old woman yet the wild touch makes her seem both younger and attractive (in a dangerous/evil way).
This style is intimidating but not over the top, not to mention her personality was old-class elegant villainess with a touch of bipolarity.
The size-shifter phase should have been saved for the battle against Star.
Buy it
Wow, fucking this. I wonder how much sympathy would have been protesting of they knew that...
uk.seasonsepisode.watch
fake synopses? you decide.
alfonso can go fuck off straight to pixieville and get eaten, but honestly ferguson should've stayed, there's a niche that a dumb fat sidekick character could have filled, somebody marco could bring along as a foil that isn't star, seeing as the only characters that matter and interact with him in the show for a long time now are female. and no, that bird dragoncycle guy and the loser git from the latest episode ain't worth shit.
The synopsis for Cleaved is almost the same as the one from Futon Critic. It's probably real.
This. Any time people complain about these two I roll my eyes, Ferguson had some of the funniest one-liners in S1. Alfonso was pretty underwhelming though.
get fucked chubbychaser
MINA!
Also
>Moon and Mina agree to disagree
This sounds suspicious
i don't really remember the shit those two said, but after i gave myself a refreshener i'm mildly dissapointed they didn't keep ferg. he was always scheming up to score with some girl, the show would gain quite a bit of funny scenes given the female cast, even if those would've been low brow, though possibly considered offensive by the cotugno-like part of the staff.
>Why is she drinking male ears? This is why modern feminists are shit.
It's 'male tears'; it's a popular euphemism for semen. She's a gokkun fetishist.
>moon and mina agree to disagree
that whole recruiting rebels from moons colony thing is looking pretty fucking plausible rn.
>wishing he was a possum / had a prehensile tail to 'score with the ladies'
>that 'I'll save you for later" bit with the cake topper in Pixtopia
I laugh every time. I feel like he was off the wall enough that his attempts to flirt wouldn't have been """offensive""" and might have surprisingly worked on the insane mewmans / species from other dimensions. But sadly you're probably right.
>And that's why Eclipsa chose divorce and abdication, which are completely valid.
She didn't get a divorce she ran away from any responsibility
>Globgor resurrected the fanartists interested in this show.
No he didn't. The show is still dead in the water.
Still, think is fucked up she was turned into a baby, good or bad Miss Heinous had a personality. To erase all that is fucked up.
