I think I'd better leave it there for today. I'll get as much of The New Eagle for tomorrow as I can.
Mason Diaz
Thanks!
Liam Walker
The New eagle would be fantastic .
Over the last couple of years I have gradually rebuilt my 2000ad collection now I'm an old middle aged cunt with money to spare on toys . But I would not have the time to bother with my old eagles
Joshua Jackson
I hope the 2000AD Dare is dead and gone permanently. Frank Hampson must have rolled in his grave.
It would be nice to think '50s Dare made a successful comeback, but looks like Flash Gordon with a twist in his eyebrows.
Plan to continue with the Virgin version? Where the Mekon and that quisling PM finally get what they deserved.
Samuel Wilson
Oddly enough it was seeing these two books advertised on Amazon and buying them that got me into rebuilding my old collection too
Noah Smith
Well, I think Spaceship Away is still going, but I've only got the first 25 issues scanned. I'll post those at some point, maybe next weekend. Easter Monday will be as much New Eagle as I can manage, then I'll go back to my usual Silver Age stuff for the rest of the working week and finish things up next weekend - the Dan Dare stories in New Eagle only took up 3-4 pages an issue, but out of the 505 issues I can find 249 issues right now - I have a torrent, but that'll finish about a fortnight from now. As for Ennis' take, I'll get to that in good time. Grant Morrison's nonsense will be saved for Storytime of Pain weekend.
Angel Parker
Okay, I've been looking at what I've got, and it's not amazing.
>one torrent of almost 9gb, that is downloading at 1KiB/s, which is basically fuck all
>lots of scans of New Eagle via libgen, which still doesn't cover half the run (some gaps not only include very early issues, but are also missing YEARS worth of stories)
>various DVDs on eBay, but they will arrive on Thursday at the latest
>some massive folder on GetComics that will take hours to download
I'll see if the GetComics folder has what I need, and if it doesn't I'll bite the bullet and buy a DVD set off eBay. If that's the case, I've got a Plan C for tomorrow (remember, Dan was Plan B, thanks to my regular Silver Age torrents deciding not to play the game) and Dan will once again become a regular fixture in my weekends. For anyone keeping score...
>New Eagle
>Spaceship Away (but I'll skip any crap backup stories, because some of the stuff they used as filler was DIRE)
>Virgin/Dynamite's Ennis mini
>Titan's Milligan mini
IN THAT ORDER. I hate it when stuff gets storytimed all higgledy-piggeldy (Mignolaverse being the exception that proves the rule). I may include other little titbits, but we'll see how that pans out.
Austin Gray
Folder's almost done. Either way, see you tomorrow.
James Price
Yeah, we're going with Plan C. Sorry, guys.
