I don't get how this scoring system works

What you like/What you read

Neither do I. Maybe it's for something in common.

But if that's the case, how do I rank?

3/4, lost interest in Hellboy some years back. I still have to start Rork.

By virtue of having BD in that list, I have to say you have good taste by default.

Goddamn ants.

And it's not just that, but also the Hammer from Hell himself.

Many of my favorite comics also dead with interconnections and character struggles, allowing one to allocate themselves into other universes.

In one particular issue, the Hammer from Hell, who's known for struggling with his consciousness, comes across a precursor to the Swamp Thing, whom we later come to know on the Parliaments behalf as Alec Holland.

This, along with Swamp Thing's encounters with Darkseid, Constantine, Dr. Fate, and Etrigan, and the Enemy Ace are what allow the passing secret to come to fruition: to allow entries into ones own top 9/10 lists by allowing each and every entry with a pocket universe to explore on their own terms.

To continue this example, think of how the mangaka of Dorohedoro wrote Blame as an assistant. With that in mind, it could be seen as a precursor. Hence the interconnectedness.

3/4

I've read a whole lot of comics in my life. I like a ton of them. And at first I tried to put together a "varied" collage. A classic here, a boring underground book there, to try and give it more "prestige", but... Eh, to hell with it. I like what I like. I like sci-fi, millitary fiction, morally dubious characters, a good love story, knights and "ancient heroes" and hate magic. So, here's my chart:
>Iron Man
My first run was Director Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and that's still my favorite, but I love the era from the 70s through the 90s, until The Crossing. Rhodes ruins the book, butI just phase him out.
>Hickman's Shield
It ticks off a lot of my boxes, really. Hidden History,
>Valerian & Laureline
Ginger Love Interest. Dashing Rogue Protagonist. Sci-Fi Adventures. You do the math.
>Ex Machina
Sci-Fi House Of Cards set in the 2000s. I adore it.
>Fantastic Four
I'm not a fan of the issues where they play capes, but I love the ones where they're exploring. My father, and his father, were seamen, so I always loved the sea and in general exploration. The world's mostly been charted, but to young me, space was still there waiting. And whereas Star Trek was too "cold", F4 had the added bonus of being about a family, which made it special. Plus, like I said, I love a good love story...
>2000AD
My favorite strip is Nikolai Dante, but I think the whole strip counts as "one" book.
>Ultimates
Say what you will, but it was blockbuster comics done right. It improved upon Authority IMHO and delivered exactly what was promised.
>Miracleman
Not exactly my cup of tea theme wise, but I love the character study that is the center of it all.
>Green Lantern
This is the book that ticks off most of my boxes. I got into it with the Johns run so that remains my favorite, but the whole lead up to, and the following stories of, the Parallax Hal era are a close second. I hate having to read through issues featuring the nigger, especially Mosaic, but a complete run is a complete run.

I meant to give out an explanation with my favorites, but my PC's acting all bipolar:

You seem to bring up a lot of good points regarding your tastes. With the sword and sorcery aspects, I can understand the implication of magic not being among one of your high-priorities, but I respect your opinion nonetheless. Rather, there may be magic (or a sort of magical realism) among the stars in the galaxy, but here I go:

>Star Wars: Dark Times

Empire and Rogue Squadron are good runner-ups, but it is here where we follow the parallel-isms that are seen in Darth Vader and Dass Jennir (a precursor to Kyle Katarn if you will) in terms of philosophical enlightenment.

>Dorohedoro

Q Hayashida worked as an assistant to Nihei of Blame fame, so loneliness is curated among the characters in this entry. Dokuga is, by far, my most favorite character.

>Hellboy:

Despite the conventions of the recent film, Hellboy stands out among the test of time as an entry worthy in the comic book hall of fame.

>Beautiful Darkness

Who knew that reading about a decomposing girl's body was so interesting?

>Enemy Ace

A German WWI dogfighter who struggles with his consciousness and whose only friend, a black wolf, may as well be the personification of his own death.

>Glaucos

Like 2001 Nights, the depth of our own discovery in the sea may as well lead us to the depth of our discovery in space.

>Mort Cinder

Beautiful, captivating art. No truer words spoken.

>Watchmen:

Obvious choice, but Moore's brilliance can't go without fault here

>Ghost Rider:

The spirit of vengeance clings onto well, especially within the spotlight, Trail of Tears, and Hearts of Darkness.

>Green Lantern (Geoff Johns)

By N-word, you mean John Stewart? Have you also tried the Sinestro War arc?

>2000AD

Good choice, but Judge Dredd and Strontium Dog are also good. Dan Dare as well.

>Miracleman

Read more of Halo Jones and Swamp Thing.

>Iron Man

Demon Bottle.

You need to calm down. I posted that by accident by hitting enter twice.

You should also read Challengers of the Unknown. They got rebooted again in The New Frontier, but its also where Jack Kirby got his start with cosmic adventures prior to creating the Fantastic Four.

That, and the Losers in terms of team-ups.

But does anyone know the maximum possible number to adding a number of favorites. 3x4? 4x4? The latest I've seen go up to on another thread was around a couple dozen.
