Were they really that bad?
The Tim Story Fantastic Four movies
Yes.
No.
Sadly, yes. When the Roger Corman movie has better character development, you have troubles
no. more fun than the mcu
>shit talking Corman
Fuck you
Well they weren't good, sooo.....yeah.
It was all too comic book cheesy, the whole latina doing whiteface bimbo with her caked on makeup and fake everything was obnoxious, Things costume was surprisingly good but they just had him doing stupid things rather than being hulk 2.0, Torch was about what you'd expect but a little over the top, Richards was too corny, overall the origins were garbage , Doom had potential and they fucked him up too. Lets not even talk about the 2nd one...or anything else.
To be fair, a lot of it could of been overlooked if it wasn't for the god awful writing.
Better than any Batman movie ever created.
Nah, even Batman and Robin is better
I think the 4 suffer from not being straightforward capes, like they cant just "go beat up the bad guy" without looking goofy. Richards and Sue dont really do much in that regard, so you'd have to use most of the cast and their interactions in a more visceral sense.
The dark knight rises
The first one was okay. A solid 7/10
test
It really isn't.
Take a minute to think how Batman was adapted over the years and how the FF were adapted in those two movies.
Evans made a better Human Torch than he did Cap desu
Jessica Alba should've been naked in every single scene
I like Chris Evans and if he had looked more like the actress who played Sue or they had more of a family relationship in the movie, he would have been fine, but she was awfully miscast, especially as a scientist.
Why cast a nudist like Alba and not give her naked scenes?
Yes.
Ioan was the perfect Reed though.
I hope we can bring him back to the MCU via Council of Reeds or Ultimate Reed.
Based nudistposter
No, it wasn't great, but it had some great aspects to it:
- Ben was perfectly cast, and even though the costume was a bit goofy, they made it work. That bridge ring scene was absolute kino.
- Johnny was great as well. Their interactions were pretty much perfect.
- Reed was well cast, but terribly written. He looks the part and acts the part, but he's not arrogant enough.
- Doom was well cast but terribly written as well.
- Silver surfer was pitch-fucking-perfect
- The costumes are pretty great
- Galactus wasn't as bad as we remember it. It should've been a dude with a helmet in the middle of the cloud, but the cloud itself was pretty menacing, they should've just committed more.
Pretty much this.
this
although i think the first one was more than passable
The tone was pitch-perfect as well. It has that relaxed, semi-comedic MCU feel, except since they didn't start with an iron-man tier movie, it didn't land as well. If it were launched 5 years later it would've been considered just another entry.
No.
Doom was pretty good in the second one.
>Reed
>arrogant
Noooo. Reed isn't arrogant.
At least he should've been more aloof and less of a beta-orbiter.
I believe it was considered good for its time but when you look back at it now it doesn't hold up all too well.
Casting was meh with the exception of who played Reed and Ben.
The conflict was about as cheesy as any superhero movie from back then was.
I will say however that we'll probably never have a good onscreen Silver Surfer ever again.
