Because it's a real cartoon, and sadly the last one currently. It's not constant screaming, lolrandom nonsense, pop culture references, and neon colors like ok ko or teen titans go, nor is it serialized, #woke pastel color wank like star vs or the new ducktales.

It's just mickey doing fun shit depicted in a pleasing style created by professional artists, backed by pleasing music. It's unpretentious fun, which is sadly a dying concept

It's a necessary evil if you want your animation done in north america. Despite what Yea Forums seems to think, most people working in the industry would like nothing more than to do the animation themselves, but there's a fuckton of bureaucracy that makes that really hard to do

I actually don't understand the hate for puppet animation. It's just a different kind of animation that can be done really well (see: these Mickey cartoons and most of Mercury's animation work actually) or really poorly (see: cheap cartoons like Johnny Test or Total Drama Island) just like you have both good and bad frame-by-frame animation.
