The show becomes really poor at framing characters starting with S3. Star keeps making mistakes but the show pitches it as the world being inconvenient or wrong and doesn't articulate growth on her part.
The best episode in the series is the second to last episode of season 2 where Star lets out a secret that royally screws over her parents, and like a shit she runs away. The show frames this as a shit thing to do. But by season 3 it's become completely irrelevant and Star never has to face the music in earnest again. The finale of Season 3 has Star do something monumentally idiotic and Season 4 basically plays it off as a comedic bit.
The show is tone-deaf and it's lost what appeal it cultivated on this site thru its early seasons.

As always all we want is just a heroic epic and there haven't been many shows since AtLA and Mystery Inc that could deliver, SvtFoE is another in a long line of disappointments.

So far I've only watched the first season of either show. Dragon Prince feels like it's trying too hard to be epic at times. The characters are charming at times, but they're always getting sidelined for the plot, which is ironically the weakest part of the show besides the visuals. On the other hand, Tangled puts all of it energy into being charming. It's super generic, but it's so god damn genuine it feels refreshing anyway.

Because the crew put their heart to deepen the lore, emotional impacts, cliffhangers and mystery onto Tangled universe, but what Disney want is the show should be full of the light-hearted, silly and fun episodes like their sitcoms to attract the little girls to buy their dolls, so Disney decided to treat the show poorly by putting at bad time slot, no reruns and effortless promotion.

I got less than 10 episodes into DP and got bored. The lore, music, and voice acting are fantastic, they really are. But the way they just take fucking forever to do anything and how some characters just acted really fucking stupid sometimes irked me. And this doesn't really matter too much but the fact they made a fucking mute person this honorable commander and warrior felt really stupid. I'm not saying mute people aren't capable of great things or haven't done amazing things, but are you telling me it's tactically viable whatsoever to have a mute general of an army? What happens if her translator dies? What happens if her hands are cut off? In what fucking universe would you ever do this? Anyway, It felt like it tried to coast along on an interesting premise with an edgy Fire Emblem exterior and not much else. Maybe that changes later on but I currently feel no desire to really go back. It's a shame because Rayla is cute as fuck and there really is potential I see in it.

This. It's absolutely shite Disney gave them the worst deal on publicity possible, but they also got everything they needed to make the show in their own vision. Why the hell Disney would be more than eager to fund a show with everything the creators wanted and needed, but absolutely radio silent as to actually promoting it is really a genuine mystery we'll probably never get an answer to unless a Didney Channel suit decides to come clean one day for some reason. But as far as the show itself goes, letting the creators do what they wanted was way more important honestly. Assuming S3 finishes the show on a strong note and Disney+ gives the show some much-needed attention, it might go down as a cult classic. And I don't know about you, but I'd much prefer that than fading into obscurity as a sellout show that went on for too long.

The thing about that is they've been treating the show like shit since season 1. The best schedule the show got was airing on Friday nights when it was just starting, then it shortly went to Sunday nights, then it jumped to Sunday mornings at 9 AM, then it got plummeted to 7 AM. The time I can only recall them ever rerunning this show was when they did a marathon one weekend morning with only 10 episodes to actually marathon with.
